In this piece, the author uses counterstorytelling as a research method to write a book review of Tanya Katerí Hernández’s recently published book, Racial Innocence: Unmasking Latino Anti-Black Bias and the Struggle for Equality. Specifically, in this counterstory, the author created two composite characters, Alberto and his mother, Lola, made up of arguments from the book to engage in a real and critical dialogue about the anti-Blackness amongst Latinos in the United States. Drawing on Hernández’s argument that Latino anti-Blackness upholds racism, the author uses this counterstory to illustrate the various ways Latinos enact anti-Black ideologies and practices to …

The Meriam Report is a remarkable historical artifact of the United States' colonial project. The idea of a stronger nation through education embodied in the report betrays the report's imperial core. The report's authors express moral outrage at the failure of the United States to respect the human dignity of Native Americans. To absolve these failures, the report repeatedly looks to education as the way forward. การศึกษาวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษารูปแบบและลักษณะของข้อความที่แสดงถึงความเกลียดชังต่ออีกฝักฝ่ายในประเด็นที่เกี่ยวข้องกับข่าวอาชญากรรมในประเทศไทยบนแพลตฟอร์มเฟซบุ๊ก รวมถึงปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการรับรู้ และการรับรู้ข้อความที่แสดงถึงความเกลียดชังของผู้ใช้งานเฟซบุ๊ก และเพื่อศึกษามาตรการควบคุมการแสดงความคิดเห็นที่เป็นการแพร่กระจายความเกลียดชังบนสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ต่อบุคคลอื่น โดยใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการวิจัยแบบเอกสาร การรวบรวมข้อมูลเอกสารที่เป็นข้อความที่แสดงถึงความเกลียดชังใต้โพสต์ข่าวอาชญากรรมในคดีฆาตกรต่อเนื่อง 6 ศพ คดีอดีตผู้กำกับใช้ถุงคลุมหัวผู้ต้องหายาเสพติด และคดีฆาตกรรมเน็ตไอดอล และการสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้างต่อผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ 15 คน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า รูปแบบข้อความที่แสดงความเกลียดชังต่ออีกฝักฝ่ายที่พบเหมือนกันทั้งสามคดีคือ การแบ่งแยกแบบไม่ตั้งใจต่อกลุ่มเป้าหมาย ลักษณะของข้อความที่พบมักเป็นการบอกกล่าว การชี้นำ และการแสดงความรู้สึก ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับความคิดเห็นของผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญต่อข้อความที่แสดงความเกลียดชังใต้โพสต์ข่าวอาชญากรรม ส่วนปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการรับรู้นั้นพบว่ามีอยู่ 3 ปัจจัย คือ (1) ปัจจัยด้านจิต ได้แก่ แรงจูงใจส่วนตนและวัฒนธรรม (2) ปัจจัยด้านสังคม ได้แก่ การได้รับการยอมรับ การเลียนแบบหรือการคล้อยตามผู้ที่เคารพนับถือ ความต้องการในการปกป้องกลุ่มตน และการอบรมเลี้ยงดู และ (3) ปัจจัยด้านสภาพแวดล้อม ได้แก่ การเข้าถึงง่าย ความเป็นนิรนาม กฎหมายและการขาดผู้ตรวจตรา ขณะที่การรับรู้ข้อความที่แสดงถึงความเกลียดชังล้วนได้รับอิทธิพลมาจากปัจจัยการรับรู้ทั้งสามและการนำเสนอข่าวของสำนักข่าวอันจะเป็นการกำหนดทิศทางให้การตอบสนองมีความแตกต่างหลากหลาย มาตรการควบคุมการแสดงความคิดเห็นที่เป็นการแพร่กระจายความเกลียดชังบนสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ นอกเหนือไปจากกฎหมายและนโยบายแพลตฟอร์มที่มีอยู่ ควรมีการจัดตั้งหน่วยงานภายใต้สังกัดกระทรวงดิจิทัลเพื่อเศรษฐกิจและสังคมเข้ามาช่วยประสานการแก้ปัญหาและดำเนินคดีระหว่างภาครัฐและเจ้าของแพลตฟอร์ม เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ที่มีความรู้ความชำนาญเกี่ยวกับระบบโครงข่ายคอมพิวเตอร์เข้ามาร่วมติดตามและตรวจสอบ บรรจุวิชาความรู้เท่าทันสื่อเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในกิจกรรมแนะแนว สร้างกลุ่มศิลปินดาราตัวอย่างประชาสัมพันธ์เรื่องสิทธิเสรีภาพ สร้างสื่อเรื่องสั้นที่เข้าถึงคนทุกเพศทุกวัย จัดตั้งพื้นที่สำหรับแลกเปลี่ยนปัญหาการใช้สื่อสังคมออนไลน์ในระดับชุมชน จัดตั้ง Online Community เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นต่างในระดับสังคมแบบไม่เปิดเผยตัวตน

The purpose of the current study was to help amplify and analyze Black American elementary student voice in a post-2020 world. Discussions and writings were conducted at the students’ charter school in spaces where students voiced what it meant to be a Black American youth through both verbal and written means. The current qualitative study focused on using discussions and creative writing to help participants make sense of their identity in their school, community, and the United States. A considerable body of research demonstrates that first-generation college students face greater obstacles to college retention, persistence and completion compared to their non-first-generation counterparts. However, the extant literature rarely explores rurality as a salient factor to understand these challenges. Even less visible in the literature are the experiences and voices of West Virginians. West Virginia is a predominantly rural state and ranks 49^th in the nation in terms of educational attainment, with only 19.6% of residents over the age of 25 having earned at least a bachelor’s degree. Italian is a gendered language in which reference to grammatical gender has been constant and inevitable. As language reflects and shapes society, grammatical gender reinforces binary views of social gender and the invizibilization of non-binary identities. Movements for social justice have inspired gender-fair linguistic innovations, such as the feminization of job titles and gender-neutral markers, to promote gender equity and challenge hierarchies of power and dominance in society. This research aimed to explore gender-neutral forms in the Italian grammatical system and public perceptions of these innovations through two studies with two groups of participants.

Contemporary fundraising practices are also challenging antiquated hegemonic ways of philanthropy and are critically examining the practice from within. Among many things, this entails diversifying the historically White-female dominated fundraising workforce. In response to a problem of practice presented by the United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg, this case study addresses equity in the grant funding and capacity development processes and how small, emergent, grassroots, minority-led nonprofit organizations in one Virginia region are affected. Through the lens of Systems Informed Positive Psychology (SIPP), a convergent mixed-methods approach was used to holistically explore the challenges and needs that these particular nonprofits face. This research is an experiment in perspective. Using the four commonplaces (Schwab, 1978), I practiced letting the Savannah River teach me what there is to know about the water, the land, the people, and the other entities that depend on ki through artistic, ethnographic, and ecopedagogical lenses. The ethnographic findings describe the social actors that depend on ki and give a voice to the River. The a/r/tographic findings display the River on a canvas map through two hundred years using paint, clay, photography, video, abstract acrylics, and fabric. African American Women (AAW) make up less than 15% of the female population in the United States but account for over 50% of new HIV diagnoses among females. This largely preventable health disparity can be mitigated by advocating and prescribing Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), a preventive HIV medication, to persons at risk. Despite advances in medication options, there are less than 13% of Black people who could benefit from having been prescribed PrEP, and limited research and promotion on the effectiveness of PrEP for AAW. Anti-immigrant rhetoric and policies have continued to adversely impact Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Temporary Protection Status (TPS) beneficiaries (Arevalo et al., 2015; Cleary, 2017; Li, 2015; Sangalang et al., 2018). There have been numerous attempts to revoke DACA, TPS, and other policies that temporarily protect immigrant families. การศึกษาปัญหา อุปสรรค และแนวทางการพัฒนาประสิทธิภาพการปฏิบัติงานในการคัดกรองและตรวจสอบผู้โดยสารของตำรวจคนเข้าเมืองท่าอากาศยานดอนเมืองนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา 1) เพื่อศึกษาปัญหาและอุปสรรคของตำรวจตรวจคนเข้าเมืองในการป้องกันอาชญากรรมในการคัดกรอง และตรวจสอบผู้โดยสารที่เดินทางเข้าประเทศไทยผ่านท่าอากาศยานดอนเมือง 2)เพื่อเสนอแนะแนวทางการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการคัดกรอง และตรวจสอบผู้โดยสารที่เดินทางเข้าประเทศไทยผ่านท่าอากาศยานดอนเมืองใช้วิธีการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก (In-depth interview) โดยใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้าง (semi-structured selection interview) สัมภาษณ์ผู้ปฏิบัติงานระดับผู้บริหาร ผู้ควบคุมการปฏิบัติ และผู้ปฏิบัติงานในการคัดกรองและตรวจสอบผู้โดยสาร ณ ท่าอากาศยานดอนเมืองที่เป็นผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ จำนวน 12 คน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ปริมาณผู้โดยสารที่เดินทางเข้ามาในช่วงเวลาชั่วโมงหนาแน่น ทำให้ระบายผู้โดยสารได้ช้า หรือบุคลากรที่มีในหน่วยงานไม่เพียงพอ ระบบเทคโนโลยีไม่เสถียร ทำให้ไม่สามารถเก็บข้อมูลได้ครบถ้วน เป็นต้น แนวทางพัฒนาประสิทธิภาพการปฏิบัติงานควรมีการเชื่อมโยงฐานข้อมูลของหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องไว้ด้วยกัน เช่น ข้อมูลหมายจับ ข้อมูลประวัติบุคคลพ้นโทษ และมีการอัพเดทข้อมูลต่าง ๆ อย่างสม่ำเสมอเพื่อให้การตรวจสอบของเจ้าหน้าที่ตรวจคนเข้าเมืองเป็นไปได้อย่างถูกต้องและรวดเร็ว เนื่องจากเจ้าหน้าที่ตรวจคนเข้าเมือง ที่ปฏิบัติหน้าที่ในสนามบินและในหลายพื้นที่ต้องปฏิบัติ หน้าที่ตลอด 24 ชั่วโมง ซึ่งมีความจำเป็นต้องประสานตรวจสอบข้อมูลกับหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องอยู่เสมอ จึงควรมีช่องทางกลางในการประสานงานร่วมระหว่างหน่วยงานที่มีความเกี่ยวข้องใกล้ชิด และสามารถติดต่อสอบถามได้ตลอด 24 ชั่วโมง

All parents experience challenges in their caregiving roles (Barańczuk & Pisula, 2020). However, parents raising a child/children with disabilities experience different social barriers (Oliver, 1996) that may also contribute to additional stressors in their caregiving role (Tomeny, 2016). Although these parents, on average, have reported greater symptoms of depression than parents of typically developing children, research shows that parents who reported receiving social support had lower symptoms of depression and stress (Das et al., 2017; Singh et al., 2017). Despite the beneficial impacts of drug court participation, access to these programs may not be equitable across racial groups. The reasons behind racial disparities in access to these programs are not well-documented in the current literature. This study investigates disparities in access to drug court and the possible reasons they occur. Chi-square tests are used to assess for disparities in admissions between Black and White individuals referred to drug court. Food insecurity is prevalent and associated with poor health outcomes, but little is known about its geographical nature. The aim of this study is to utilize geospatial modeling of individual-level food insecurity screening data ascertained in health care settings to test for neighborhood hot and cold spots of food insecurity in a large metropolitan area, and then compare these hot spot neighborhoods to cold spot neighborhoods in terms of the CDC's Social Vulnerability Index. In this cross-sectional secondary data analysis, we geocoded the home addresses of 6,749 unique participants screened for food insecurity at health care locations participating in CMS's …
