This project, Facilitating Diversity in the Online Classroom – Best Practices, explores four best practices for facilitating diversity in the online classroom. The philosophical and ethical framework for this study is built on Martin Buber’s belief that people must be open to dialogue and interested in participating in it and that they stay attentive to another’s uniqueness and how it matters. Grounded in the theory of Critical Pedagogy, this study urges teachers to be open-minded to change and to affect and shape he environment around them. The U.S. Government faces acute budgetary deficits and national debt problems in the Obama Administration. These problems have been brought about by decades of unsustainable government spending affecting all agencies including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. (NASA). An outgrowth of this fiscal profligacy is the presence of wasteful and duplicative programs within NASA that prevent this agency from achieving its space science and human spaceflight objectives. These problems occur due to mismanagement of these programs from NASA and the creation of these programs by the U.S. Congress and congressional committees. The theoretical development and empirical testing of the effects of humility in the organizational sciences is surprisingly rare. This is especially pronounced in the study of leadership in Asian contexts. To address this we employ a qualitative approach to examine the conceptualization of leader humility in Singapore and assess whether this conceptualization differs from other emerging conceptualizations of leader humility. In Study 1, using semi-structured interviews of 25 Singaporeans, we identified nine major dimensions of humble leader behaviors and explored our participants' beliefs about culturally-based differences in leader humility.
