Using Music As A Teaching Tool To Teach Social Emotional Learning (Sel), Patrick Mcmanus, Christina Jensen
National Youth Advocacy & Resilience Conference
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is the foundation for academic achievement. Using music to teach makes it easier for students to gain knowledge on topics such as empathy, self-management, self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making.

Conditions Of Enablement Of Sound Practices In Hong Kong And Manila, Dayang Magdalena Nirvana Tamanio Yraola
Conditions Of Enablement Of Sound Practices In Hong Kong And Manila, Dayang Magdalena Nirvana Tamanio Yraola
Lingnan Theses (MPhil & PhD)
While sound practices in Hong Kong and Manila operate separately, they are interlinked by various factors that have enabled their practices, respectively. This research is a study of such connection. In particular, I claim that sound practices in Hong Kong and Manila share distinct characteristics that allow inter-referencing to be adopted as an effective tool in approaching the problem at hand. Sound practice for both Hong Kong and Manila is uniquely located in the interstices of music and art—a location where their distinct form, history, and ethics are entangled with those of music and art. I argue that this unique …
A Survey Of French Cello Music Dating From The Baroque Era To The 20th Century, Chien-Hui Yang
A Survey Of French Cello Music Dating From The Baroque Era To The 20th Century, Chien-Hui Yang
LSU Doctoral Dissertations
This research aims to examine how French music progressed from the Baroque era to the 20th-century through the cello repertoire. This document will be a useful tool for people who are interested specifically in French cello compositions. The researcher will discuss fifteen composers and seventeen cello works. Through reading composers’ biographies and examining the selected cello compositions from these French composers, the researcher will better comprehend and attempt to describe the composers’ musical styles and their musical legacies within the canon of music for the cello.
From the Baroque era, François Couperin, Jean-Baptiste Barrière, and Martin Berteau are …
Finding Music In Chaos: Designing And Composing With Virtual Instruments Inspired By Chaotic Equations, Landon P. Viator
Finding Music In Chaos: Designing And Composing With Virtual Instruments Inspired By Chaotic Equations, Landon P. Viator
LSU Doctoral Dissertations
Using chaos theory to design novel audio synthesis engines has been explored little in computer music. This could be because of the difficulty of obtaining harmonic tones or the likelihood of chaos-based synthesis engines to explode, which then requires re-instantiating of the engine to proceed with sound production. This process is not desirable when composing because of the time wasted fixing the synthesis engine instead of the composer being able to focus completely on the creative aspects of composition. One way to remedy these issues is to connect chaotic equations to individual parts of the synthesis engine instead of relying …

National Youth Advocacy & Resilience Conference
Willowcreek Middle School in Portage Indiana is not your typical alternative school. We offer trauma informed practices in place of student expulsions. A safe structured environment, reduced class time, academic strategies, mindfulness, yoga, and community service, all help to provide the educational and social/emotional support necessary to help students at risk reach their potential and eventually transition back to the traditional classroom.

Introduction. The role and significance of our great ancestors in world history is indisputable. An Experimental Model Of Color And Sound Correlation, Elyorkhon Abdullayev
An Experimental Model Of Color And Sound Correlation, Elyorkhon Abdullayev
Eurasian music science journal
The article is devoted to the relationship between music and color, the degree of knowledge of this issue in science, some aspects of the history and theory of synesthesia. Based on the Pythagorean and Verdian systems, an attempt is made to analyze the interaction, differentiation of sound and color based on their frequency fluctuations. The general constants of music and images, as well as methods for their decoding, are investigated. Tables, diagrams and figures show the experimental model of color-sound correlation, which demonstrates the general laws of musical theory, harmony, color science and color.

Theoretical Justification For Systematization Of Genres And Styles Of Contemporary Uzbek Variety Music, Nodira Amanova
Theoretical Justification For Systematization Of Genres And Styles Of Contemporary Uzbek Variety Music, Nodira Amanova
Eurasian music science journal
Genre-style research of contemporary variety music requires the development of new methodological approaches. The available classifications and methods, unfortunately, do not allow to fully analyze the genre-style structure of Uzbek variety music. Another problem in the analysis of genre-style affiliation is the notation of variety music composition. This is due, among other things, to the fact that note fixation cannot fully reflect the style affiliation expressed through rhythmic "pulls," special effects, sound distortion and other attributes of modern variety music. As part of our research, a new method of combined note-hearing analysis has been developed. Algorithm of analysis and isolation …
