This book is intended to facilitate the development of aural skills in a variety of ways over the course of a two-year ear training course. Included are sixteen chapters of exercises that progressively develop the reader's abilities in the areas of: interval recognition, rhythmic pattern detection and performance, rhythmic sight-reading and dictation, scale degree recognition, melodic sight-singing and dictation, chord recognition, and harmonic dictation. Hymn tunes with choral settings and lyrics are also included to further develop the sight-reading ability and musicality.

Many of us are concerned about the rancor, discourse and fragmentation that we see in our families, workplaces and neighborhoods. We have lost a sense of community. We will explore simple ways to increase the sense of belonging, encourage dialogue and promote kindness, tolerance and understanding. Simple techniques, rituals and habits will help us create connections, form bonds of fellowship and truly see and hear other people. Music is a universal component of human culture that has been demonstrated influencing emotional, cognitive, and physiological responses, specifically heart rate and hormonal responses (Mehr et al., 2019; Trappe, 2012). Recently, this research has expended to explore how music may affect non-human animals, particularly dogs, due to their roles as therapy animals, service animals, and human companions (Lindig et al., 2020; Gee et al., 2021). He was a composer, conductor, multi-instrumentalist, playwright, publisher, and teacher who lived and worked primarily in New York City. The collection consists of the handwritten and reproduced manuscripts of most of Stor’s major compositions, as well as a limited number of personal papers, published scores, writings, correspondence, photographs, and recordings.

Professor Stephen Zork presents a final Reunion Choral Concert as he steps into retirement. Over 200 voices join together to perform choral works that Zork's choirs have performed over the past 34 years at Andrews University.

This concert featured Zork's symphonic poem Matopos performed by the Andrews University Symphony Orchestra. Also including a world premier of James Lee III's When God Sings, a commissioned work to celebrate Zork's legacy at Andrews University.

The Emmanuel Missionary Choir joined the mass choir to perform John Rutter's The Lord Bless You and Keep You.

The Effects Of Low Stimulating Music Vs. High Stimulating Music On Visual And Auditory Reflexes In Young Adults, Monabelle Elbayeh, Vania Galindo, Ria Modi, Gianna Montelongo

This study investigates the effects of high-stimulating versus low-stimulating music exposure on human reflexes, specifically examining how different levels of auditory stimulation influence reaction time. Music is known to impact cognitive and motor performance, but its direct effect on reflex responses remains less understood. In this experiment, participants are exposed to high-stimulating music and low-stimulating music in separate trials, with reflexes measured before and after each condition using visual and auditory tests in the LabScribe program. It is hypothesized that after listening to high-stimulating music for five minutes, individuals will demonstrate shorter reaction times compared to after listening to low-stimulating …

● Music conveys human emotion and mental states, often reflecting societal struggles such as depression and anxiety. Lyrics often shape how listeners experience these emotions, influencing mood, identity formation, and emotional processing in young adults (Gustavson, 2021; Chen, 2023). ● Depression, characterized by persistent sadness, loss of interest, and withdrawal is frequently expressed in music through explicit descriptions or metaphorical language (Shriram, 2015).
