Meeting the relentless demand for more efficient air cargo transportation is paramount. This paper explores an innovative approach, harnessing cutting-edge stereoscopic vision technology to create 3D point clouds of rolling stock cargo, adaptable to varying solar angles and cloud shadow conditions. A virtual cargo image is generated by systematically organizing depth and location points. Accuracy is rigorously tested across six camera positions offering detailed, real-time insights for optimized cargo loading in unpredictable outdoor conditions. The findings reveal the impact of solar positioning, cloud coverage, & camera placement, pushing the boundaries of possibilities for cargo logistics in challenging environments.

Through a series of public policy incentives and consumer demand, more electric vehicles are being sold nationwide than ever before. Although electric vehicles (EVs) are being adopted nationwide by many consumers in recent years, car-buyers across South Alabama have not followed the trend. This research considers different stakeholders in the complex consumer buying process of car purchases, and it uses the extant technology adoption models to assess the public policy incentives, as well as statewide roadblocks, to EV adoption.

Background: Deep sternal wound infection (DSWI) constitutes a serious complication after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. The aim of this study is to evaluate the dose-response relationship between glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level and the risk of DSWI after CABG. Methods: PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane Library databases were searched to identify potentially relevant articles. According to rigorous inclusion and exclusion criteria, fourteen studies including 15,570 patients were finally enrolled in our meta-analysis. Odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) was used as the summary statistic. The robust-error meta-regression model was used to synthesize the dose-response relationship. In my dissertation, I examine how a firm's position in the supply chain information network affects its cyber risk exposure and cyber risk management. First, I document that firms that are more central in the supply chain information network have higher cyber risk exposure. Second, the positive association between firm centrality and cyber risk is mitigated by both the IT governance strength of the focal firm and its supply chain partners. Third, the exposure to cyber-attacks through supply chain information networks also has several implications on corporate policies. I find that managers of more central firms are more likely to …

Utilizing systems thinking methodologies and tools, this dissertation explores the complex growth and development challenges faced by the industrial hemp industry in Pennsylvania. Identified were key stakeholders, regulatory barriers, and market forces influencing the industry revealing a misalignment of goals and a lack of stakeholder collaboration as significant impediments. Legal and regulatory frameworks, supply-demand imbalances, and ineffective partnerships emerged as critical factors impacting the industry's future. Recommendations to address misalignments include fostering stakeholder collaboration, improving public-private partnerships, and utilizing interactive planning to address systemic issues to enhance the industry's growth potential.

This paper provides a data-driven approach to apply lessons learned from Project Risk Management in the aviation industry. This is accomplished by performing a qualitative analysis to inform a second-pass quantitative analysis using tools like surveys, word clods and analysis through NVivo and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). The results of this analysis show that the most important lessons are elements of early identification, rigorous risk identification and analysis and a focus on reducing risks inherent within the aviation history.
