Patient satisfaction is an advancing topic amongst health care professions, but athletic training has not kept up with these advances. The purpose of this study was to assess patient satisfaction and perception of the athletic training profession as related to their exposure to athletic training services over the course of an athletic career. Four hundred one student-athletes from a single institution were sent an email containing a link to the online-questionnaire, 93 student-athletes submitted the questionnaire. Weak negative correlations were found between questions regarding patient satisfaction with athletic training care and patient perception of the athletic training profession. Results imply, …

NSAIDs are commonly used among athletes for a variety of reasons. The purpose of this research is to gain insight on Division III athletes’view and opinions of NSAIDs. A survey was developed incorporating the Theory of Planned Behavior and distributed to all winter and spring athletic teams of one Midwestern Dill University. By utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior, this study found attitude toward behavior as the strongest predictor of behavioral intention (p < .001), while both Perceived Behavioral control (p < .001) and Intention (p < .001) were statistically significant predictors of behavior. Another finding from the study was that athletes perceived less than 25% of their teammates as taking NSAIDs. Displaying the importance of an athlete s own personal values and opinions of NSAID use was the strongest predictor of intentions. Further assessment should include more athletes to get a better representation of the athletic department.

Football, as we know it, has changed significantly since it's humble beginnings in 1892. In it's early beginnings, football was an all-out brawl. The first football game was played in 1869. It was an intercollegiate contest between Rutgers and Princeton universities, but the game was played according to soccer rules modified from the London Football Association. During the next seven years, rugby gained popularity over soccer and modern football was launched from Rugby. The purpose of this study was to determine if the relationships between the height of a hurdler and the takeoff distance to the first hurdle for men and women as reported by Frye (2008) were valid for NCAA Division III 100 m and 110 m hurdlers. With no specific research reported to validate Frye’s data, it is unclear how the suggested takeoff distances were developed. It is also unclear whether hurdler height or another factor is the main determinant of takeoff distance for the high hurdlers.
