The purpose of this Senior Capstone project is to analyze the distinctions between existing playoff systems. In particular, we are looking to analyze the differences between the standard single-elimination tournament (which the NCAA has used since the inception of the tournament) and other potential options: double-elimination and multiple game series. Popular sports such as Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association all use multiple game series for their playoffs. Creating social media controversy, viewers called out the sexist commentary directed towards women athletes emphasizing their relationship status, how many children they have, and male athlete accomplishments over the female’s athletic ability. This content analysis will dive deeper into NBC’s prime-time coverage of the twenty-third Olympiad, examining the sport and non-sport questions brought up during interviews with the male and female athletes. Cricketing Dad: An Autoethnography Into The Unknown, Peter De Vries

The Qualitative Report

The qualitative research methodology of autoethnography has been used by the researcher to explore his own lived experience as a father, specifically focusing on his experiences with his son playing cricket. As an autoethnography, the article unfolds as a first-person narrative that endeavours to connect the personal experiences of one particular father to wider social and cultural aspects of being a parent today. The narrative draws on data spanning 18 months to explore the researcher’s “unknown” world of being a cricketing Dad.

The future of Daily Fantasy Sports throughout the United States remains uncertain. Although there have been numerous attempts to double down on the spread of gambling, the growing attraction to gamble has not been suppressed. With the recent proposed legislation and litigation over the legality of Daily Fantasy Sports, a new debate has emerged that implicates America’s desire to protect its “public morals.” Part I of this Note will discuss the intricacies of Daily Fantasy Sports and the allegations against FanDuel and DraftKings as of February 2016.
