Psychological research has shown that perception often works in a dual-basis in which a person examines a subject and weighs the subject against an ideal and non-ideal scale, independently. There have been few studies though, that have tried to apply this mechanism as a component of the dynamics involved in Leadership Studies, Organizational Behavior, or Change Management. Values-based leadership and ethical decision-making are hot topics. However, the expectations and frameworks surrounding these characteristics are often unclear. The purpose of this article is to analyze values-based, ethical leadership by defining values and ethics, summarizing values-based ethical decision-making frameworks, and examining how leadership educators (scholars and practitioners) can develop students who lead with integrity.

This paper contributes to the corporate governance literature by focusing on how Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) duality and compensation committee quality are related to CEO compensation in the period since passage of the Sarbanes Oxley Act (“SOX”). Unlike research prior to SOX that focused chiefly on committee members’ independence, we measure compensation committee quality in two ways. We consider the average number of board directorships held by compensation committee members as well as the proportion of committee members with prior or current CEO duality experience. The purpose of this study was to apply the platform of existing knowledge and ideas in the area of sales management with regard to the motivation of financial advisor associates (FAAs) in the financial services industry in the United States. In 416, Bishop Innocent I of Rome sent a colleague in Gubbio what was to become one of the most important set of liturgical instructions in early Christendom. Innocent composed his remarks on, inter alia, penitential discipline and prescribed gestures during the administration of the Sacraments to deter other bishops and their priests from improvising. He claimed that bishops of Rome, as successors of St. Peter, had the responsibility to authenticate ritual observances and achieve uniformity in Italy and elsewhere. This doctor of ministry thesis presents the results of a project that explores the potential for extending a practice of story listening as a way of forming community across social circles at the Lake Orion Church of Christ in Lake Orion, Michigan. The intervention involved guiding a group of six participant-researchers, each of whom had previous experience in story listening, through six sessions in the fall of 2011. Each phase of the project was informed by a participatory social Trinitarian theology. We propose a person-centered framework for conceptualizing subjective careers in an increasingly boundaryless work context. Specifically, we argue that entrepreneurship, professionalism, and leadership (EPL) can serve as three key dimensions of subjective career space. We relate this framework to earlier macro-level national and organizational career models proposed by Kanter (1989) and Schein (1978). Our empirical study involving 10,326 Singaporean university students demonstrated that entrepreneurial, professional, and leadership career aspirations (including motivations, efficacies, and intentions) can be measured independently, that these career dimensions are independent of vocational interests, and that they are to some degree viewed as competing career alternatives. The Identification Of Leadership Strategies Among Leaders Of Successful Mergers Or Acquisitions, Andrew F. Luce

This project investigates the leadership strategies used by leaders of successful mergers or acquisitions. Fifteen current or former Augsburg MAL students who have participated in a merger or acquisition were interviewed for this report. A significant cross section of Upper Midwest industries was represented as well as diverse segments of management among the interviewees.

Key techniques used by leaders include town-hall style meetings, integration or transition teams, employee panels and internal social media. Leader behaviors using these mediums govern the successful dissemination of vital information and the integration or creation of new corporate cultures. The challenging work atmosphere that is the newspaper industry in the early part of this century requires employees, and in particular those who serve in leadership roles, to exhibit a high sense of perceived self-efficacy if they are to survive and thrive. By analyzing in depth the groundbreaking research in self-efficacy by Albert Bandura, this paper seeks to apply Bandura's research and survey tools to examine self-efficacy in a large newsroom and whether there is a difference in the perceived level of self-efficacy depending on gender.
