Professional counselors and clients who meet in healthcare facilities may be required to wear masks if COVID community transmission levels are high ([CDC], 2022). The current 4-part study examines how masking may affect therapeutic alliances via judgements of trust formed during first impressions. A 2(trustworthiness) x 5(facial feature visibility) within-subjects factorial design was used to assess one implicit measure of pleasantness using an Affect Misattribution Procedure as well as explicit facial judgements of valence, dominance, and trustworthiness (Payne & Lundberg, 2014). Behavioral weight loss (BWL) interventions can help combat obesity and related diseases, but rates of adherence are often low among Hispanic/Latina women. This study explored barriers and facilitators to adherence among this population. Fourteen women attended focus groups and were asked to identify barriers and facilitators to self-monitoring of food and exercise (SM). They additionally were asked to identify body image-related barriers and facilitators to adherence to meeting diet and exercise goals. Transcripts were analyzed using thematic analysis. The cumulative effects of childhood polyvictimization, including incremental increases in experiences of childhood maltreatment (CM) types, such as sexual abuse and emotional neglect are associated with an increase in psychological distress. Personality trait domains as measured by the Personality Inventory of the DSM-5, are independently associated with psychological distress, and are thought to moderate the association between traumatic events and distress. The purpose of the current study was to extend research on response-restriction (RR) preference assessment by (a) comparing the rate of problem behavior across preference assessments (i.e., multiple stimulus without replacement (MSWO), Free Operant (FO), RR) using modification made to improve the RR assessment, (b) determining whether RR can produce similar hierarchies to other preference assessments, (c) conducting a reinforcer assessment to determine if the RR assessment accurately predict reinforcers. Police work, a high stress occupation with increased risks and adverse events, often leads to strain between work and family. Work-family conflict (WFC) has been shown to mediate coping with stress. In addition, offspring of law enforcement officers (LEOs) may learn self-regulation by observing parental stress coping and attempting to alleviate stress for their parent. Three theoretical frameworks were used in this study: WFC, spill-over cross-over model, and family systems theory. Understanding of the intersection of cyber vulnerabilities and bioprocess regulation is critical with the rise of artificial intelligence and machine learning in manufacturing. We detail a case study in which we model cyberattacks on network-mediated signals from a novel bioreactor, where it is important to control medium feed rates to maintain cell proliferation. We use a digital twin counterpart reactor to compare glucose and oxygen sensor signals from the bioreactor to predictions from a kinetic growth model, allowing discernment of faulty sensors from hacked signals. Our results demonstrate a successful biomanufacturing cyberattack detection system based on fundamental process control principles.

Hospital patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may engage in various topographies of severe behavior, with higher rates of restraint implemented than for their neurotypical counterparts. Qualitative research suggests that physician knowledge of function-based intervention is limited. Multidisciplinary behavior management teams were developed to decrease restraint across general hospital patients. In Study 1, the research team developed the Knowledge of Behavioral Function (KoBF) survey measure, using an iterative user-centered development process and administered the measure to multidisciplinary physicians and trainees. Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the most common psychiatric diagnosis in children and a frequent psychiatric diagnosis in adults. ADHD is a clinical diagnosis based on self-reported symptoms which makes accurate diagnosis challenging. Actuarial prediction has been demonstrated to be more accurate than clinical judgment. The current study explored an actuarial approach to predicting ADHD based on a comprehensive battery of neuropsychological tests. This project utilized test data from Meyers Neuropsychological Battery (MNB) to develop a logistic regression model to accurately predict diagnosed ADHD cases (n=65) from normal functioning cases (n=79) with a history of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI). Background and context

Pair programming and oral exams were deployed in tandem in a remote undergraduate computer programming course to promote social interaction and enhance learning.

Objectives

We investigate their impact on social interactions, sense of connection, academic performance, and academic integrity within a virtual learning environment, and explore the dynamics of student collaboration in the context of voluntary pair programming.

Method

Students’ coding activities, pairing preferences, and performance were survey responses were recorded and analyized.
