"Desde 1985 el Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro (FIT) tiene su cita anual en Cádiz y se enorgullece de ofrecer muestras de teatro de España y de muchos países latinoamericanos que ejemplifican lo último en las técnicas escénicas contemporáneas. Según el Boletín Informativo Municipal de 1996, el festival ofrece lo mejor de las Artes Escénicas de Espaiia e Iberoamérica y "apuesta por la calidad de los espectáculos frente a la cantidad de los mismos" (9).
