This thesis examines the application of inventory management theory in the small and medium-sized business context, with a specific focus on the food and beverage industry. Drawing on the foundational academic literature spanning from Harris’s EOQ formula in 1913 through stochastic inventory theory, ABC analysis, and just-in-time strategy, this paper establishes the mathematical and operational bases for modern inventory management practice. Advances in technology and the changing nature of socio-economic environments are reshaping the working environments and creating a new form of employment. (Cieślik & van Stel, 2023). While traditional transaction platforms like Airbnb emphasize economic value creation, some emerging platforms increasingly strive to pursue both economic and social goals. Balancing these dual goals creates tensions, especially in resource-constrained contexts, requiring innovative coordination strategies. Drawing on collective action theory and platform literature, we investigate how four start-up platforms pursuing dual goals manage these tensions. Using case study data from 64 interviews and extensive secondary sources, we identify six core tensions related to mission, user inclusion, scalability, operational control, community engagement, and stakeholder communication. We demonstrate how three key coordination strategies—framing, convening, and multivocality—help alleviate these tensions. Our study …

Entrepreneurs operate at the intersection of intense business demands and family responsibilities, making them particularly vulnerable to emotional exhaustion—a condition that undermines both venture performance and family wellbeing. This study examines how instrumental family support and maladaptive coping strategies shape emotional exhaustion among entrepreneurs, and how such exhaustion influences economic performance and cross‑domain spillovers between work and family. Drawing on data from 1,495 entrepreneurs and tested through Structural Equation Modeling, the findings reveal that family support significantly reduces emotional exhaustion, whereas maladaptive coping amplifies it. Intergenerational succession poses a vital challenge for family firms, with only 10% of global family businesses surviving to the third generation. Chinese family firms, growing alongside reform and opening-up, now face a critical succession period as founders average over 60 years old.

Based on 1932 A-share listed family firms from 2007 to 2024, this study theoretically and empirically examines how intergenerational succession affects corporate performance, investigates the mediating role of governance de-familization (management, ownership, control rights), and tests the moderating effect of intergenerational differences.

Financial inclusion (FI) encourages economic empowerment and growth while also serving as a catalytical factor in achieving seven of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals. Attainment of these and other benefits of FI is largely dependent and influenced by various factors and determinants. Analysing sample data of 26,930 responses from the Access to Financial Services in Nigeria (A2F) 2023 survey, this study examined the factors influencing FI using the Multiple Logistic Regression model.
