การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาระดับพฤฒพลังและปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับพฤฒพลังของผู้สูงอายุชายและหญิงในประเทศไทย โดยใช้ข้อมูลการสำรวจระดับประเทศจากโครงการ “การเปลี่ยนแปลงทางประชากรและความอยู่ดีมีสุขในบริบทสังคมสูงวัย” ซึ่งดำเนินการเก็บข้อมูลโดยวิทยาลัยประชากรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ในปี พ.ศ. 2559ผลการศึกษาระดับพฤฒพลัง พบว่าผู้สูงอายุชายมีระดับคะแนนพฤฒพลังสูงกว่าผู้สูงอายุหญิงในพฤฒพลังด้านการทำงานเชิงเศรษฐกิจ พฤฒพลังด้านการดำรงชีวิตโดยพึ่งตนเองได้ มีสุขภาวะที่ดีและมีความมั่นคง และพฤฒพลังด้านศักยภาพและสภาพแวดล้อมที่เอื้อต่อการมีพฤฒพลัง ทั้งนี้ ผู้สูงอายุชายมีคะแนนพฤฒพลังมากที่สุดในตัวชี้วัดการประกอบกิจวัตรประจำวันขั้นสูง (IADLs) และทุกตัวชี้วัดในพฤฒพลังด้านการทำงานเชิงเศรษฐกิจ ในขณะที่ผู้สูงอายุหญิงมีคะแนนพฤฒพลังมากที่สุดด้านการมีส่วนร่วมในสังคมในตัวชี้วัดการดูแลสมาชิกในครอบครัว ในส่วนของผลการวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการมีพฤฒพลังด้วยการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยโลจิสติกแบบไบนารี พบว่า เพศ สถานภาพสมรส รายได้เฉลี่ยต่อปี และการเตรียมการเพื่อให้มีพฤฒพลัง มีความสัมพันธ์กับการมีพฤฒพลังทุกด้านอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p

This study examines the demographic and socio-economic factors affecting labour productivity in service enterprises across Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Previous research primarily focuses on manufacturing firms, leaving a gap in understanding productivity in service firms. This study examines the impact of human capital and gender dynamics in leadership on labor productivity and technical efficiency in firms from Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Pakistan. Using data from the World Bank Enterprise Survey, the analysis uses Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), and Tobit regression techniques. The findings reveal significant variations in labor productivity and efficiency among firms in the three countries, influenced by factors such as firm characteristics, managerial experience, workforce skill composition, and gender leadership. The results indicate that higher average wages positively impact labor productivity and technical efficiency across all three countries, supporting …

This study investigates the potential facilitation of economic convergence through policy across the Baltic Sea Region from two critical perspectives: (1) an analysis of the impacts of human capital flight and forced pendular migration from Ukraine on the economies included in the study, and (2) the impact of cultural dimensions and institutional arrangements on labor productivity in firms across the region. การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ของการศึกษาคือ (1) เพื่อศึกษาการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตทางเศรษฐกิจของลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ต (2) เพื่อทดสอบอิทธิพลของปัจจัยทางประชากรและสังคม ปัจจัยการทำงานและปัจจัยทรัพยากรการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตที่ส่งผลต่อการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตทางเศรษฐกิจของลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ต และ (3) เพื่อทดสอบอิทธิพลของปัจจัยทางประชากรและสังคม ปัจจัยการทำงานและทุนทางเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลที่ส่งผลต่อรายได้ของลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ต โดยการศึกษาครั้งนี้ศึกษากลุ่มประชากรวัยแรงงานที่มีอายุ 18 – 59 ปี มีสถานภาพการทำงานเป็นลูกจ้างและมีการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตในระหว่าง 3 เดือนก่อนวันสัมภาษณ์ ผู้ศึกษาใช้ข้อมูลทุติยภูมิจากการสำรวจการใช้เทคโนโลยีและการสื่อสารในครัวเรือนและการสำรวจภาวะการทำงานของประชากรของสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติในปี พ.ศ.2558 พ.ศ.2561 และพ.ศ.2563 ผลการศึกษาปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการใช้ประโยชน์จากอินเทอร์เน็ตทางเศรษฐกิจของลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ต พบว่า กลุ่มเพศหญิง อายุน้อย การศึกษาสูง อาศัยอยู่เขตเทศบาล รายได้สูง ทักษะแรงงานสูง มีการใช้คอมพิวเตอร์ทำงานและมีทรัพยากรการการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตที่ดีกว่ามีแนวโน้มที่จะใช้ประโยชน์จากอินเทอร์เน็ตทางเศรษฐกิจมากกว่า ในขณะที่ลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตที่มีรายได้ต่ำและทำงานเป็นลูกจ้างรัฐบาลและรัฐวิสาหกิจมีแนวโน้มที่จะใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตเพื่อการศึกษาเรียนรู้มากกว่า สำหรับการศึกษาปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อรายได้ของลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ต พบว่า ลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตที่มีทุนทางเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลต่ำที่สุดและสูงที่สุดนั้นมีช่องว่างทางรายได้ที่แตกต่างกันถึงร้อยละ 36 – 38 ส่วนลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตที่เป็นเพศหญิงและมีสถานภาพโสดเป็นกลุ่มที่มีความได้เปรียบด้านทุนทางเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัล แต่กลับได้รับผลตอบแทนทางรายได้ที่น้อยกว่าแสดงถึงข้อจำกัดในการเข้าถึงทรัพยากรในพื้นที่นอกเขตดิจิทัล รวมถึงอาจมีข้อจำกัดในการแปลงทุนทางเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลให้เป็นทุนทางเศรษฐกิจในชีวิตจริง การศึกษาในครั้งนี้ทำให้ทราบผลกระทบของกระบวนการเปลี่ยนผ่านเป็นดิจิทัล (Digitalization) ที่มีต่อประชากรกลุ่มวัยแรงงาน การเข้าถึงทรัพยากรการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตและการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพอาจช่วยส่งเสริมความเท่าเทียมกันในทางสังคมที่มีอยู่ได้ หากผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตสามารถแปลงทุนในพื้นที่ดิจิทัลให้เป็นทุนในพื้นที่ชีวิตจริง ดังนั้นการลดช่องว่างทางดิจิทัลโดยส่งเสริมการเข้าถึงทรัพยากรในพื้นที่ดิจิทัลอย่างเท่าเทียมจึงมีความสำคัญในการสร้างสังคมที่เป็นธรรมในยุคเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัล

Nebraska ranks 37th in the country for the rate of persons that report working from home (12%), according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey for 2021. Nebraska’s low rate of those that work from home, compared to other states, is likely a function of the work most people do in Nebraska. In Nebraska, more people work in low wage compared to high wage jobs, according to previous research from UNO CPAR. Low wage jobs, in 2021, are defined as below the median income for all workers, or approximately $41,500. “Low wage” jobs are more likely to …

The Nebraska CASA Association works to recruit, screen, train, and support Court Appointed Special Advocates to speak for the well-being of abused and neglected children. Nebraska CASA includes a network of 22 local programs serving 54 counties. Nebraska CASA partnered with the University of Nebraska at Omaha Center for Public Affairs Research and Grace Abbott School of Social Work to execute a simplified cost-benefit analysis of the CASA program in Nebraska. According to 2021 estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, 7% of Nebraska households do not have access to a computer and 6% of Nebraska households have access to a computer but no internet. Although recent efforts suggest there is momentum and government action at both the federal and state levels to address lack of broadband (Hammel, 2023; Newman, 2023), this still leaves a considerable number of Nebraskans without access to reliable broadband in the meantime. Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can result in illness and death. In urban areas of dense concentrations of pavement, buildings, and other surfaces that absorb and retain heat, extreme heat conditions can arise regularly and create harmful environmental exposures for residents daily during certain parts of the year. Tree canopies provide shade and help to cool the environment, making mature trees with large canopies a simple and effective way to reduce urban heat. Recent analyses of transgender homicide victims find that the news media often uses improper terminology, delegitimizes, and victim blames them. These analyses, while insightful, are limited as they have largely analyzed cases involving trans women and trans feminine individuals. The present study employs a mixed-method approach to analyze news media articles (N = 88) published in U.S. online news media outlets about 17 gender non-conforming victims killed between 2012 and 2022. We found that most articles did not delegitimize or victim blame. However, we find (1) victim blaming occurred when reporting on cases of officer-involved shootings, (2) certain victims …
