Cummings. The LeDroit Park Initiative, spearheaded in the late 1990s by then-Howard University President H. Patrick Swygert and Ms. Jamie Gorelick, Vice Chair of the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), aimed to renovate and redevelop Howard University-owned properties within the LeDroit Park area. Despite Thailand’s image as a “living paradise” for LGBTQ+ individuals, empirical research on social acceptance and family formation remains limited. Public discourse has questioned whether the growing visibility of LGBTQ+ populations may contribute to the national fertility decline. Given this context, this study focuses on LGBTQ+ individuals and explores three dimensions: (1) societal tolerance toward LGBTIQAN+ individuals and sexual diversity, (2) public attitudes toward LGBTIQAN+ parenting, and (3) the well-being and family formation intentions of LGBTQ+ individuals. Objectives: This paper provides new estimates of disability prevalence for the archipelago and mainland-residing Puerto Rican populations ages 40 and above and compares disability by place of birth and place of residence to investigate drivers of middle and older age health.

Methods: Large nationally representative samples from 2013 to 2017 American Community Survey and Puerto Rico Community Survey data are used to estimate age-specific disability prevalence for archipelago-born/archipelago-residing, archipelago-born/mainland-residing, mainland-born/mainland-residing Puerto Ricans.

Results: Mainland-born/ mainland-residing Puerto Ricans have the lowest age-adjusted disability rates and archipelago-born/archipelago-residing Puerto Ricans have the highest rates. Differences in education explain part of this disparity.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสถานการณ์ภาวะสุขภาพจิตของประชากรไทย และปัจจัยระดับบุคคลและระดับชุมชนที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการมีสุขภาพจิตที่ดีของประชากรไทย การวิจัยใช้ข้อมูลทุติยภูมิจากโครงการการสำรวจสภาวะทางสังคม วัฒนธรรม และสุขภาพจิต พ.ศ.2561 จัดเก็บโดยสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติ ซึ่งเป็นการสำรวจระดับประเทศที่เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากประชากรที่มีอายุตั้งแต่ 15 ปีขึ้นไป การวิเคราะห์คัดเลือกเฉพาะตัวอย่างที่ตอบคำถามในประเด็นที่เกี่ยวกับสุขภาพจิตด้วยตนเอง รวมจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 27,147 ราย อาศัยอยู่ใน 1,989 ชุมชน การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนาและ การวิเคราะห์พหุระดับแบบโลจิสติกแบบทวิผลการศึกษาพบว่า ประชากรไทยที่มีอายุ 15 ปีขึ้นไปเกือบร้อยละ 80 เป็นผู้ที่มีภาวะสุขภาพจิตดี ตามเกณฑ์วัดสุขภาพจิตของคนไทยฉบับสั้น (Thai Mental Health Indicator-15: TMHI-15) ตัวแปรระดับบุคคล ได้แก่ เพศ อายุ ระดับการศึกษา สถานภาพสมรส สถานภาพการทำงาน จำนวนสมาชิกในครัวเรือน สถานะทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคมของครัวเรือน ความสัมพันธ์และความผูกพันภายในครัวเรือน การรับรู้สุขภาพกายของตนเอง ความเชื่อตามหลักคำสอนทางศาสนา การปฏิบัติตนตามหลักศาสนา และคุณธรรมในการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์กับบุคคลอื่น มีความสัมพันธ์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติกับการมีสุขภาพจิตที่ดีของประชากรไทย ในระดับชุมชน พบว่า สัดส่วนของประชากรที่มีภาวะสุขภาพจิตดีในชุมชน และค่าเฉลี่ยสถานะทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคมของครัวเรือนในชุมชนมีความสัมพันธ์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติกับการมีสุขภาพจิตที่ดีของประชากรไทย การศึกษาครั้งนี้ชี้ให้เห็นถึงความไม่เท่าเทียมกันทางด้านสุขภาพจิตของประชากรในกลุ่มต่าง ๆ และแนวทางในการส่งเสริมภาวะสุขภาพจิตของประชากรผ่านปัจจัยทางสังคมและสภาพแวดล้อมของครัวเรือนและชุมชน

One of the thirteen original states, Maryland is located on the East Coast. It consists of two main sections that are separated by the Chesapeake Bay: the Eastern Shore, which is east of the Chesapeake, and mainland Maryland, west of the Chesapeake. As a whole, Maryland is a blue state. The East Shore is different: it has Republican House member, Andy Harris, and holds different values from the rest of the state, and it votes differently, too. Previous research on the immigrant health paradox among children and adolescents show a mental health advantage yet it is unclear if this applies in a similar magnitude to females (Fillion et al., 2018; Zarei et al., 2023). Immigrants may be exposed to stressors related to immigration and acculturation. Some research suggests that females respond more to stress through internalizing symptoms relative to males (Hall-Lande et al., 2007; Adkins et al., 2009). Given these gender differences in stress response, female immigrants may be particularly vulnerable to the psychological consequences of immigration related stressors. This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of alterations in self-perceived mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic and their associated factors in four Latin American countries. This is a cross-sectional study based on data collected from adults in 2021 through the Collaborative Response COVID-19 Survey by the MacDonnell Academy at Washington University in St. Louis (United States). The sample was composed of 8,125 individuals from Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Chile. A generalized linear model for a binary outcome variable with a logistic link and fixed country effects was used. การศึกษานี้วิเคราะห์ปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์ต่อความตั้งใจในการออกกำลังกายเพิ่มขึ้นของผู้สูงอายุในประเทศไทย โดยมุ่งเน้นกลุ่มที่ตระหนักว่าตนเองมีการออกกำลังกายไม่เพียงพอ ข้อมูลที่ใช้มาจากการสำรวจพฤติกรรมสุขภาพประชากรปี 2564 ของสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติ และวิเคราะห์ด้วยวิธีถดถอยโลจิสติกแบบทวิภาค (Binary Logistic Regression) เพื่อระบุปัจจัยสำคัญที่มีผลต่อความตั้งใจในการออกกำลังกายผลการศึกษาพบว่าปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล ได้แก่ อายุ ระดับการศึกษา สถานภาพทางเศรษฐกิจ และพื้นที่อยู่อาศัย ส่งผลต่อความตั้งใจในการออกกำลังกายอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ ผู้สูงอายุที่มีการศึกษาสูง มีสถานภาพทางเศรษฐกิจที่ดี และอาศัยในเขตเมือง มีแนวโน้มที่จะตั้งใจออกกำลังกายมากกว่า นอกจากนี้ การสนับสนุนทางสังคมจากครอบครัวและชุมชน เช่น การเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมกลุ่มและชมรมสุขภาพ ยังเป็นแรงจูงใจสำคัญที่เพิ่มความตั้งใจในการออกกำลังกาย ข้อเสนอแนะเชิงนโยบายควรให้ความสำคัญกับการพัฒนาศูนย์สุขภาพผู้สูงอายุที่มีบริการให้คำแนะนำเฉพาะทาง ลดความเหลื่อมล้ำทางเศรษฐกิจด้วยโครงการออกกำลังกายชุมชน เพิ่มโอกาสในการออกกำลังกายตามระดับการศึกษา ส่งเสริมกิจกรรมออกกำลังกายแบบกลุ่มในชุมชนเมืองและชนบท และสร้างเครือข่ายชุมชนเพื่อสนับสนุนการออกกำลังกาย ข้อเสนอแนะทางวิชาการควรมุ่งศึกษารูปแบบการออกกำลังกายเฉพาะกลุ่ม วิเคราะห์ปัจจัยทางสังคมและจิตวิทยาที่มีผลต่อการออกกำลังกาย และศึกษาการเปลี่ยนแปลงของความตั้งใจในการออกกำลังกายตามช่วงเวลาเพื่อให้ได้ข้อมูลเชิงลึกสำหรับการพัฒนานโยบายที่มีประสิทธิภาพ

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมสุขภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของผู้สูงอายุไทย และเพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคุณลักษณะของผู้ดูแลและพฤติกรรมสุขภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของผู้สูงอายุไทย ดำเนินการวิจัยโดยใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ และใช้ข้อมูลทุติยภูมิจากโครงการสำรวจประชากรสูงอายุในประเทศไทย พ.ศ. 2564 โดยสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติ กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ ผู้สูงอายุที่มีอายุ 60 ปีขึ้นไป ที่มีผู้ดูแลในการใช้ชีวิตประจำวัน จำนวน 3,406 คน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนา ได้แก่ ค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าต่ำสุด ค่าสูงสุด และค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และสถิติเชิงอนุมานคือ การถดถอยโลจิสติกทวิภาคผลการศึกษา พบว่า ผู้สูงอายุไทยมีเพียงร้อยละ 7.09 ที่ออกกำลังกายเป็นประจำ และมีเพียงร้อยละ 45.53 ที่กินผัก/ผลไม้เป็นประจำ และผู้สูงอายุที่ดื่มน้ำสะอาดวันละ 8 แก้วหรือมากกว่าเป็นประจำ มีเพียงร้อยละ 36.84 ในขณะที่สัดส่วนของผู้สูงอายุที่ไม่ดื่มสุรา/เครื่องดื่มที่มีแอลกอฮอล์ และไม่สูบบุหรี่ สูงถึงร้อยละ 96.96 และ 97.08 ตามลำดับ ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นว่าพฤติกรรมสุขภาพที่ยังคงต้องส่งเสริมให้มีเพิ่มมากขึ้นคือ การออกกำลังกาย การกินผัก/ผลไม้ และการดื่มน้ำสะอาด เมื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคุณลักษณะของผู้ดูแลกับพฤติกรรมสุขภาพที่พึงประสงค์ พบว่า เพศ อายุ ระดับการศึกษาสูงสุด รูปแบบการอยู่อาศัย การลาออกจากงาน รายได้เฉลี่ยต่อเดือน การฝึกอบรมเพื่อดูแลผู้สูงอายุ ระยะเวลาที่ใช้ในการดูแลต่อสัปดาห์ (ชม.) และทัศนคติที่มีต่อการดูแลผู้สูงอายุ มีความสัมพันธ์กับพฤติกรรมสุขภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของผู้สูงอายุไทยอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 และพบว่าความสัมพันธ์ของผู้ดูแลกับผู้สูงอายุ ไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับพฤติกรรมสุขภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของผู้สูงอายุในทุกด้าน

This dissertation examines the impact of hidden violent punishment within diverse parenting styles in Thai society, focusing on preschool children aged 3 to 4 years (36 to 59 months). Utilizing the Thailand Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey 2019 (MICS6/2019) national dataset (N=5,345), the study addresses three primary research objectives:1) examine the key factors and parenting styles influencing child behavioral problems, 2) investigate the associations between socioeconomic characteristics and parenting styles, and 3) generate a model for enhancing parenting factors that mitigate behavior problems in preschoolers. A central theme of Singapore’s “City in Nature” vision is framed through biophilic urbanism, or efforts to harmonize biodiversity and urban development through built, social, and political design. The central discourses of Singapore’s biophilic urbanism have revolved around flora-centric paradigms, including habitat conservation, greening spaces, and access to natural capital. This paper detours from conventions of Singapore’s urban ecological futures and instead explores the governance of fauna co- existence in the city–state through the concept of “urban crittizenship.” Defined as a more-than-human denization framework that interrogates urban wildlife governance, urban crittizenship interrogates the politics of urban wildlife’s rights to the …

Historical information on tribal populations in the United States is incomplete. American Indians and Alaska Natives were not enumerated with the general population until the 1940 decennial census. However, Indian Census Rolls were produced for the period 1885 – 1940 under the auspices of the Bureau of Indian Affairs in the U.S. The information given in the Indian Census Rolls varies but usually includes the roll number, age, gender, tribal identity, and relationship to the head of the family.
