Brunei Darussalam's national vision, WAWASAN 2035, sets forth ambitious goals for the nation's development, emphasizing a centralized governance paradigm. However, the potential of decentralized governance, as exemplified by China's mayor-led districts, offers a compelling model for achieving national aspirations. This research explores the feasibility and potential benefits of introducing mayors in Brunei's districts, drawing insights from China's successful decentralized governance structure. By fostering inter-district competition and allowing for localized policy tailoring, Brunei can enhance its adaptability and responsiveness to local nuances. This study aims to analyze the role of commuting time in explaining the gender wage gap in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area. This study presents an analysis of the gender wage gap as well as its explained and unexplained components using the Blinder-Oaxaca method with data provided by 2019 Jakarta Metropolitan Area Commuter Survey. The addition of commuting time as one of the explanatory factors is a novel aspect of the analysis. This study aims to investigate the youth labor market vulnerability during COVID-19 pandemic crisis in Indonesia in terms of their incidence of unemployment, duration of job search, and the probability to experience work stoppage. We utilize the Indonesian Labor Force Survey in the periods of 2019-2021, to capture the period before and during the pandemic. An additional 1.8 billion people will be added to the world’s population by 2050. At the same time, average incomes are likely to rise. Data from the Groningen Growth and Development Center suggest that average real (inflation-adjusted) GDP per capita increased by a factor of fifteen between 1820 and 2018 and World Bank data indicate that real per capita GDP more than tripled over the past 62 years. บทความนี้มุ่งศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการสะสมทักษะชีวิตในสังคมสมัยใหม่ของแรงงานย้ายถิ่นกลับจากต่างประเทศ ใช้ระเบียบวิธีการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ มีหน่วยวิเคราะห์ระดับปัจเจก กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นแรงงานย้ายถิ่นกลับจากต่างประเทศในจังหวัดชัยภูมิ ภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ประเทศไทย จำนวน 420 คน เก็บข้อมูลเมื่อเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ 2566 ด้วยแบบสัมภาษณ์ที่ผ่านการตรวจสอบความถูกต้องเชิงเนื้อหาและมีค่าความเชื่อมั่น 0.902 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนาและสถิติถดถอยพหุคูณ ผลการวิจัยพบว่าแรงงานย้ายถิ่นกลับจากต่างประเทศมีอายุเฉลี่ย43.6 ปี เป็นชาย ร้อยละ 56.2 และร้อยละ 33.1 จบชั้นประถมศึกษา มากกว่าครึ่งหนึ่งไปทำงานต่างประเทศแบบถูกกฎหมาย ในกลุ่มประเทศเอเชียตะวันออก ร้อยละ 94.0 และร้อยละ 52.1 ย้ายถิ่นไปทำงานต่างประเทศเพียง 1 ครั้ง ซึ่งแรงงานย้ายถิ่นกลับส่วนใหญ่ มากกว่าครึ่งหนึ่งเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองในระดับปานกลาง ร้อยละ 53.8 คาดหวังประโยชน์จากการย้ายถิ่นไปทำงานต่างประเทศระดับปานกลาง ร้อยละ 46.4 และแรงงานย้ายถิ่นกลับมากกว่าครึ่งหนึ่งสะสมทักษะชีวิตได้ในระดับปานกลาง เป็นที่น่าสังเกตว่า กว่าร้อยละ 40.0 สะสมทักษะชีวิตได้ในระดับต่ำ นอกจากนี้ พบว่า ปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการสะสมทักษะชีวิตในสังคมสมัยใหม่ของแรงงานย้ายถิ่นกลับจากต่างประเทศ ได้แก่ เพศชาย จำนวนปีที่ศึกษา วิธีการย้ายถิ่นแบบถูกกฎหมาย จำนวนครั้งที่ย้ายถิ่น และการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง โดยทุกตัวแปรสามารถอธิบายการผันแปรของการสะสมทักษะชีวิตในสังคมสมัยใหม่ของแรงงานย้ายถิ่นกลับจากต่างประเทศได้ 32.6% (R-square = 0.326)

A novel dataset and documentation containing spatially allocated estimates based on analysis of the 2017-21 ACS PUMS for counties in the State of Oregon. Analysis was performed by iterative adjustment to the ACS weights such that results were consistent with selected tables generated from the full ACS sample published by the US Census Bureau. The data are delivered in two pipe-delimited text files. Each row represents one county, and columns represent standard data fields described in the codebooks. Attitudes towards immigration have been shown to be driven by dehumanization and disgust. The more people dehumanize immigrants and the more disgusted they feel, the more negative attitudes they tend to have toward immigrants. However, little is known about how exposure to social media content that links dehumanization, disgust, and immigration influences users’ attitudes on this issue. This is important to consider because the majority of adults in the United States are on social media. Through three empirical essays, this work explored how information and communication technology (ICT) use shapes population health behaviors and outcomes, with a particular focus on older adults. The first essay critically investigated whether online communication can serve as a substitute for in-person social contact in mitigating loneliness among late middle-aged and older persons. The study finds that while excessive reliance on digital interaction correlated with higher loneliness in the general older adult population, it could potentially serve a protective function for those in poor health by reducing social isolation. This paper aimed to investigate the marriage and fertility intentions of Gen Z and Gen Y women living in Beijing, China, and examine the factors affecting their decisions regarding marriage and fertility intentions. I employed the method of in-depth interviews, conducting 20 interviews online between April and June 2025. The key findings reveal explicit attitudes among the women from Generation Y and Generation Z in Beijing. A qualitative analysis confirmed three major themes: (1) career-centered identity and the deprioritization of family planning; (2) fear of marriage and childbearing; and (3) awakening of individualism.
