This study examined behavioral variability and personality in 13 reptiles used as ambassador animals at the American Museum of Natural History. Observations across seasons and novel object tests revealed individual differences, behavioral components, and correlations. Findings emphasize reptilian complexity, highlighting welfare implications while underscoring the need for further research.

Despite the advancement of research on microaggressions, their impact on employees’ emotional well-being and behavior remains unclear (Fattoracci & King, 2023). In response, I examine the associations between microaggressions, hurt feelings, and counterproductive work behaviors (i.e., withdrawal and production deviance). Additionally, I consider racial representation as a potential moderator. Drawing upon social identity theory, social categorization theory, and the Stressor-Emotion Model, I argue that microaggressions lead to hurt feelings, prompting employees to engage in counterproductive work behaviors as a coping mechanism (Tajfel & Turner, 1979; Tajfel et al., 1971; Spector & Fox, 2005). AI/AN peoples have served with distinction in every major conflict for over 200 years. In addition, self-esteem has been found to have a relationship with conformity. Individuals with low self-esteem have a fear of social rejection and partake in conforming behaviors. This study examined humorous facial disguise in relation to social anxiety during a speech task. Social anxiety is characterized by a strong desire to present a positive image of oneself to others, while simultaneously doubting one’s ability to do so (Clark & Wells, 1995). This study used interpretive phenomenological analysis to explore the lived experiences of female D-I collegiate gymnasts in the United States who have struggled with mental blocks, examining the characteristics, causes, and management strategies through semi-structured interviews. The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) companions fundamentally shifts the landscape of interpersonal communication, introducing artificial entities as relational partners rather than mere facilitators of human-to-human interaction. This exploratory study examines the interplay of machine gendering, self-disclosure, perceived partner responsiveness (PPR), and interpersonal satisfaction within human-AI interactions. Participants engaged in conversations with gendered AI companions through the program Replika, completed structured surveys, and participated in qualitative interviews. Findings indicate that users' willingness to self-disclose was influenced by their perceptions of AI responsiveness, while gendered characteristics of AI significantly shaped user expectations and communication patterns. The present study evaluated the correlations between romance readership and paralove strength, as well as paralove strength with self-esteem. With the popularization of the romance genre, previous qualitative studies have shown that readers of romance books receive mood benefits from consuming these novels, as well as social benefits that they apply to their real-life relationships. Additionally, low self-esteem has been shown to have a major effect on relationship satisfaction and the perception of rejection with real-life relationships, but not parasocial relationships.
