Abstract: Titanium alloy materials have excellent mechanical properties, chemical stability and biocompatibility, and have become the main raw materials for implants. However, the biomechanical compatibility of medical titanium alloys still needs to be improved in order to meet the long-term safety and functionality of patient's clinical treatment requirement. Research On Real-Time Simulation Method Of Bi-Sar Echo In Time-Varying Sea Scene, Guijie Diao, Ni Hong, Zhe Liu, Li Yang

Abstract: Based on bistatic scattering mechanism and the geometric relationship of bistatic synthetic aperture radar (Bi-SAR), a real-time simulation method of Bi-SAR radio frequency echo in time-varying sea scene is proposed. For the couple scattering in time-varying sea scene, a Bi-SAR echo signal model is established on the basis of multipath scattering model. The Bi-SAR system response function for time-varying sea target is calculated in real-time, using high performance computing technology, high-capacity real-time access technology and full-switching system designing. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the method.

This technical note attempts to review the current situation and trend in US manufacturing. We then discuss challenges and necessary steps, such as asset mapping, required to grow local suppliers. Suggestions are then made to support growing local suppliers along the US/Mexico border region.

Smart manufacturing enables an efficient manufacturing process to optimize production. The optimization is performed through data analytics that requires reliable and informative data as input. Therefore, in this research, two image recognition feature extraction methods namely Curvelet Wavelet-Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (CWGLCM) and Fuzzy-Spatial Pyramid Matching (F-SPM) are proposed to provide reliable inputs for vision-based apple classification in smart manufacturing. This research examines the effect of top-to-bottom static compression load on the bulge of RSC containers. The study compares a control regular slotted container (RSC) constructed with corrugated fiberboard to tape-reinforced designs. The bulge reduction, achieved using various tape placements and conditioning environments, were measured. Currently, no research on the effect of reinforcement tape towards reduction in the out-of-plane displacement (bulging) of the corrugated fiberboard panels has been undertaken. The production of aggregates in rock mining requires an optimal system of crushers, separators and conveyors. Proper machine selection allows to obtain aggregates with appropriate technical parameters and increase the output of required fractions with a given unit cost. Deep neural networks have become very successful at solving many complex tasks such as image classification, image segmentation, and speech recognition. The U.S. is currently facing an opioid crisis. Naltrexone is a common treatment for drug addiction; it reduces the desire to take opiates. However, addicts often stop treatment or continue to use opioids while in treatment. This results in increased fatalities and associated costs. A Markov-chain model is presented to analyze the progression of opioid addiction to assist the medical community in developing appropriate treatments. Les chutes de hauteur sont encore aujourd’hui une des principales causes d’accident au Québec, et la deuxième cause en termes de coûts sur la période 2010 – 2012, avec une moyenne de 397 millions de dollars par année. This study characterized airborne microdroplet diameters and size distribution from two commercially available lubricants A and B for internal minimum quantity lubrication (MQL). The effects of air pressure, oil channel size, physical properties of lubricants on the resultant microdroplets and through-tool MQL drilling performance were studied. Airborne microdroplet diameters were highly sensitive to the coolant channel sizes and air pressure. Cluster method was used to divide microdroplets into smaller clusters for comparison. This paper studies imperfect underlay device-to-device (D2D) association in spectrum-shared cellular networks. It addresses important system and design interference constraints, processing load limitations and transmit power constraints at D2D terminals. The paper proposes decentralized schemes for D2D communication between D2D terminals when downlink channel resources can be reused in the D2D network. The D2D transmitters are characterized considering their processing load limitation and allocated transmit power constraints. Moreover, the downlink channels that can be reused in the D2D network are quantified while meeting interference constraints imposed by the primary cellular network. Traditional learning curve theory assumes a constant learning rate regardless of the number of units produced. However, a collection of theoretical and empirical evidence indicates that learning rates decrease as more units are produced in some cases. These diminishing learning rates cause traditional learning curves to underestimate required resources, potentially resulting in cost overruns. A diminishing learning rate model, namely Boone’s learning curve, was recently developed to model this phenomenon. This research confirms that Boone’s learning curve systematically reduced error in modeling observed learning curves using production data from 169 Department of Defense end-items. Abstract: A fuzzy controller based on SVR learning is proposed for uncalibrated robot visual servoing. In this paper, a fuzzy controller is used to directly construct the nonlinear mapping between image features and robot joint motion. The fuzzy basis function of the fuzzy controller is taken as the kernel function of an SVR and the equivalent relationship between the SVR and the fuzzy controller is established. Abstract: The accuracy of acceleration prediction can be effectively improved by the driver's memory in car-following behavior. A new car-following model based on the General Motors (GM) and the gate control unit (GRU) is proposed. The car-following data between small vehicles with similar driving behavior are obtained by data preprocessing. The established model is calibrated by the car-following data, and the optimal parameters and structure of the model are determined. According to car-following characteristics, the effectiveness of model is verified by simulation.
