Heat related injuries are a significant problem for the United States Armed Forces. There were over 11,000 confirmed cases of heat-related illnesses that were diagnosed at more than 230 military installations from 2018-2022. These injuries are primarily due to hyperthermia (i.e., abnormally high body temperature) resulting from extreme environmental temperatures, high humidity, medications, or excessive physical work or exercise. Great South Metals (GSM) operates two steel slitter machines, which take large coils of flat rolled steel and cut them into smaller strips for use in customers’ applications. Setting up the working components of each machine, called the slitter head, is a precise and arduous task. This system relies on several manually performed calculations and acute attention to detail; and thus, is prone to human error. In this work, we study the use of modern portfolio theory in a cost-risk analysis of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). Based upon the risk-return concepts of modern portfolio theory, we develop an n-asset minimization problem to create a risk-cost frontier of portfolios of technologies within the ERCOT electricity region. However, its extensive scan duration not only causes patient discomfort but also increases the likelihood of motion-induced artifacts in the images. The NiO-TiO2 has been synthesized using complicated preparation methods and expensive precursors that hamper their large-scale production. The present study reports the preparation of NiO-TiO2 semiconductor with improved physicochemical properties. The methods of nitric acid processing of phosphate raw materials are analyzed. A technology has been developed for the nitric acid processing of phosphate raw materials into nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizer with the implementation of the process in a condensed pulp by adding sulfuric acid. A technology for producing complex fertilizers with a wide range of N:P2O5:K2O ratios with improved physico-chemical parameters due to the introduction of various potassium salts into the process is proposed.
