Circus In Motion: A Multimodal Exergame Supporting Vestibular Therapy For Children With Autism, Oscar Peña, Franceli L. Cibrian, Monica Tentori
Engineering Faculty Articles and Research
Exergames are serious games that involve physical exertion and are thought of as a form of exercise by using novel input models. Exergames are promising in improving the vestibular differences of children with autism but often lack of adaptation mechanisms that adjust the difficulty level of the exergame. In this paper, we present the design and development of Circus in Motion, a multimodal exergame supporting children with autism with the practice of non-locomotor movements. We describe how the data from a 3D depth camera enables the tracking of non-locomotor movements allowing children to naturally interact with the exergame . A …

Blockchain And Its Transformational Impact To Global Business, Mohammed Qaudeer
Operations Research and Engineering Management Theses and Dissertations
The advent of internet to the public back in 1994 resulted in the 4th industrial revolution disrupting and transforming business and communication models. As much as the transformation changed our lives and experiences, it has resulted in centralized models like Amazon and Facebook. It also resulted in exponential growth of Fraud, Identity theft, and lack of trust. Blockchain is considered an emerging technology of this era, which will trigger the 5th industrial revolution enabling another massive storm of disruptive transformation completely changing the current business models based on trust, security, collaboration and crypto currency. As the evolution of blockchain technology …

Domain Specific Computing In Tightly-Coupled Heterogeneous Systems, Anthony Michael Cabrera
McKelvey School of Engineering Graduate Student Theses & Dissertations
Over the past several decades, researchers and programmers across many disciplines have relied on Moores law and Dennard scaling for increases in compute capability in modern processors. However, recent data suggest that the number of transistors per square inch on integrated circuits is losing pace with Moores laws projection due to the breakdown of Dennard scaling at smaller semiconductor process nodes. This has signaled the beginning of a new “golden age in computer architecture” in which the paradigm will be shifted from improving traditional processor performance for general tasks to architecting hardware that executes a class of applications in a …

Abstract: This paper presented a novel approach for combining and blending a set of aligned images into a composite mosaic with no visible seams. The compositing seam is found efficiently via seeded region growing using a photometric criterion. A contribution of this paper is to use seeded region growing on image differences to find possible seams over areas of low photometric difference. This can result in significant reduction of blending time. The using of seeded region growing over image pairs guaranteed the approximate optimal solution for each intersection region. The independence of such regions makes the algorithm suitable for parallel …

Circular Space-Filling Algorithm For Hierarchical Data Visualization, Kun Hou, Zhilong Li, Yuchao Feng, Chen Yi
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: The existed Circle Packing methods mainly take the style of top-down to arrange all the nodes. When the nodes of different layer was arranged, the scaling and translation would cause relative high time complexity of the algorithm, and the size proportional discordance of nodes of different father nodes but the same layer, and it also causes the problems like defective tightness between the layouts of father nodes and child nodes. To solve problems above, on the basis of summarizing methods of arranging brother nodes of the same layer, the algorithm——CRCA(Circle and Rectangle Center Algorithm) was proposed, which took the …
