Nail technicians can be exposed to more chemicals and allergens than the general population due to the unique exposures they experience in their day-to-day operations. This study focused on behaviors nail technicians participated in that may have increased their risk of infection, pain, allergy, or ailment. A cross-sectional study was organized, assessing the prevalence of behavioral exposures among nail technicians and their correlation with other factors like prior education, workplace type, and symptoms experienced. Participation in on-duty exercise is critical to enhance firefighter safety and readiness. However, these sessions are often interrupted with emergency responses and require firefighters to work in a fatigued state that may increase injury risk. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to assess the impact of on-duty resistance training on neuromuscular function. A sample of 18 firefighters (Age: 38.8±8.0yr; Body fat: 24.9±7.0%) completed 3 testing sessions, separated by at least 72 hr to compare the effects of circuit (CT) versus heavy resistance training (HRT) fatigue on neuromuscular function. The purpose of the current study was to examine high school health curricula regarding sleep prevention and intervention practices and whether instructional content aligned with best practice for this age group. Specifically, the Primary Investigator and her thesis chair developed the Sleep Education and Preventative Practices Checklist/Questionnaire (SEPPC and SEPPQ) as tools to evaluate the sleep content covered in different public high schools across Illinois. The SEPPC and SEPPQ were identical in that they contained 17 different items which looked at different sleep topics reviewed by current literature. Context

Little is known about how athletic trainers (ATs) learn clinical documentation, but previous studies have identified that ATs have a need for more educational resources specific to documentation.

Objective

To obtain ATs' perspectives on learning clinical documentation.

Design

Qualitative study.

Setting

Web-based audio interviews.

Patients or Other Participants

Twenty-nine ATs who completed 2 different continuing education (CE) clinical documentation modules. Participants averaged 36.2 ± 9.0 years of age and included 16 women and 13 men representing 21 US states and 8 clinical practice settings.

Objective

The study aimed to analyze the independent and joint associations of physical activity (PA) and sedentary behavior (SB) with self-rated health (SRH) among Chinese children and adolescents.

Methods

Cross-sectional data on moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), school-based PA, extracurricular physical activity (EPA), screen time (ST), homework time, and SRH were assessed through a self-report questionnaire in the sample of 4227 Chinese children and adolescents aged 13.04 ± 2.62 years. Binary logistic regression was used to compare gender differences in PA, SB, and SRH among children and adolescents, and analyses were adjusted for age and ethnicity.

Background

Globally, the majority of kindergarten-aged children face obesity issues and insufficient physical activity (PA) engagement. Regular PA participation can provide various health benefits, including obesity reduction, for kindergarten-aged children. However, limited studies have investigated the factors influencing kindergarten-aged children's PA engagement from the perspective of their teachers. This qualitative study aimed to identify factors that could help promote PA among kindergarten-aged children from teachers' perspectives, including facilitators, barriers, and teachers' recommendations.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาผลการจัดการเรียนรู้สุขศึกษาโดยใช้แนวคิดกรอบคิดติดยึดเติบโตที่มีต่อพฤติกรรมทางเพศที่พึงประสงค์และการเคารพของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย วิธีดำเนินการวิจัย ตัวอย่างใช้การเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเฉพาะเจาะจง เป็นนักเรียนโรงเรียนในสังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษากรุงเทพมหานคร ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 จำนวน 60 คน และใช้วิธีการสุ่มอย่างง่ายจับฉลากแบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลองที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้การเรียนรู้แนวคิดกรอบคิดติดยึดเติบโต จำนวน 30 คน และกลุ่มควบคุมที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้รูปแบบปกติจำนวน 30 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้สุขศึกษาโดยใช้การจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้แนวคิดกรอบคิดติดยึดเติบโต จำนวน 8 แผน มีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้องรวม 0.87 และเครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล คือ แบบวัดพฤติกรรมทางเพศที่พึงประสงค์และการเคารพ จำนวน 2 ฉบับ มีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้อง 0.94 และ 1 ตามลำดับ มีค่าความเที่ยง 0.86 และ 0.79 ตามลำดับ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และทดสอบความแตกต่างค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนด้วยค่าที ซึ่งการจัดการเรียนรู้สุขศึกษาโดยใช้แนวคิดกรอบคิดติดยึดเติบโตสามารถนำไปปรับประยุกต์ใช้ในการพัฒนาผู้เรียนได้

การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ของการเปิดรับข่าวสาร การรับรู้ ทัศนคติกับแนวโน้มพฤติกรรมการใช้กัญชาของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา มีวัตถุประสงค์การวิจัยเพื่อ 1) ศึกษาระดับการเปิดรับข่าวสาร การรับรู้ ทัศนคติ และแนวโน้มพฤติกรรมการใช้กัญชาของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา 2) ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปัจจัยลักษณะทั่วไปของประชากรกับระดับการเปิดรับ ข่าวสาร การรับรู้ ทัศนคติ และแนวโน้มพฤติกรรมการใช้กัญชาของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา 3) ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการเปิดรับข่าวสาร การรับรู้ และทัศนคติกับแนวโน้มพฤติกรรมการใช้กัญชาของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา และ 4) เปรียบเทียบแนวโน้มพฤติกรรมการใช้กัญชาของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาแยกตามระดับชั้นและสังกัด กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 450 คน เป็นนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นในเขตพื้นที่กรุงเทพมหานคร โดยใช้วิธีการสุ่มแบบแบ่งชั้นตามสังกัดโรงเรียนและแยกตามระดับชั้น เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถามออนไลน์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้การแจกแจงความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน สถิติไคว์สแควร์ สถิติสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์เพียร์สัน และการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว โดยกำหนดระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) การเปิดรับข่าวสารเกี่ยวกับกัญชาอยู่ในระดับน้อย การรับรู้เกี่ยวกับกัญชาอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง ระดับทัศนคติ และระดับแนวโน้มพฤติกรรมการใช้กัญชาอยู่ในระดับน้อย 2) ความสัมพันธ์ของลักษณะทั่วไปของประชากรแยกตามสังกันมีความสัมพันธ์กับการเปิดรับข่าวสารการรับรู้ และทัศนคติ ส่วนแนวโน้มพฤติกรรมการใช้กัญชามีความสัมพันธ์เมื่อแยกตามสังกัดและรายได้ต่อเดือน3) ความสัมพันธ์ของแนวโน้มพฤติกรรมการใช้กัญชาระหว่างการเปิดรับข่าวสารมีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวกในระดับต่ำ (r = .223) การรับรู้มีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวก อยู่ในระดับต่ำมาก (r = .146) และทัศนคติมีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวก อยู่ในระดับต่ำ (r = .369) 4) แนวโน้มพฤติกรรมการใช้กัญชาแยกตามสังกัดมีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

There is a need to examine the effectiveness of interventions, such as swimming, that are aimed at increasing physical health and developing psychomotor skills in an inclusive setting for children with ASD. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of an inclusive, small-group adapted aquatics program on increasing VO2max in children with ASD. Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) exhibit lower physical activity levels compared to their non-disabled counterparts, with only 23% of U.S. adults with IDD engaging in the recommended 60 minutes per day of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (IPSE) programs in the U.S. offer an opportunity to promote physical activity and address the critically low physical activity levels. Few IPSE programs have formalized physical activity courses, warranting an evaluation and development of the national curriculum in this area. This multilevel mixed methods investigation examines the experiences of developing self-evaluation skills for simulation fellows in an interprofessional simulation fellowship program. Interprofessional fellows (N = 12) and faculty (N = 4) engaged in a three-phase study using video-assisted learning tools to explore the differences in self-evaluation (perceived performance) and faculty evaluation (actual performance) in developing debriefing skills. For the quantitative component, fellows and faculty completed the DASH© tool to evaluate the quality of debriefing to help close the gaps between fellow self-evaluation and faculty evaluation. Introduction: This research aimed to investigate which waves, Theta or Beta, are significant predictors of visual simple and complex reaction times during the Vienna test, using regression modeling. The research material comprised the test results of male judo athletes (n = 24), selected through mixed sampling (purposive and random). The study was conducted in two cycles, differentiated by frequency but with the same duration of EEG biofeedback sessions, in both the control and experimental groups. Introduction: Deep stabilization system (DSS) strength and endurance are crucial for injury prevention and athletic performance. Training surfaces can influence training outcomes; therefore, this study aimed to compare the impact of performing strength trunk exercises on unstable and stable surfaces with conventional trunk exercises. Materials and Methods: DSS and trunk stability were assessed before and after 10 weeks of three different training interventions among twenty elite futsal players. Each intervention included 25 strength training sessions. Introduction: The present study aims to compare the effects of massage, selected yoga exercises and massage-yoga combination methods on symptoms of depression. Materials and Methods: According to the research criteria, 60 available samples were selected and randomly divided into three experimental groups and single control one. The Beck Depression Inventory was completed by the examinees before the intervention, two months after its beginning and one month after ending. Introduction: Childhood obesity is a major health problem especially for schoolchildren both physically and mentally. The study was conducted to assess the effects of the structured physical activity (PA) program on the physical fitness (PF) and self-perception levels of obese schoolchildren. Materials and Methods: A total of 67 students aged 9-11 were recruited and the experimental group (n = 27) was attended to exercises once per week for 60 mins for 12 weeks. Self-perception Scale for Children and PF tests were applied as pre- and post-tests. Effects Of Screen Time On Children's Brain Development: A Scoping Review, Niloofar Jannesar, Todd E. Davenport, Lindsay Gietzen

Pacific Journal of Health

In this scoping review, the effects of screen time on cognitive, linguistic, and social-emotional development in children were studied by examining peer-reviewed articles published between 2018 and 2023. A total of 17 peer-reviewed articles were used in the study. The research reported that screen media provide a learning avenue, though it could be detrimental when children spend their time watching more than appropriate screen media. Furthermore, the study indicated that excessive screen media use may harm children’s executive function, which affects academic performance and language development. Introduction: The aim of this research was to examine the relationships of four perceived teaching styles (i.e., autonomy support, structure, control, and chaos) of physical education (PE) teachers with students’ satisfaction of psychological needs as well as autonomous and controlled motivation towards physical activity in PE and leisure time context. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate physical therapists (PT) and physical therapy assistants’ (PTA) readiness to deliver telehealth (TH) services during COVID-19 pandemic. Method: IRB approved this survey analysis study. The Modified Maryland TH Readiness Assessment Tool (mMTRAT) was distributed by email to all licensed PTs and PTAs in California in October 2020. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to compare between-groups differences for continuous demographic data. Pearson chi-square analysis was used to assess between-group distributions of categorical data. The brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) rs6265 (G196A; Val66Met) polymorphism has been associated with obesity and type 2 diabetes, with contradictory results involving either A or G as the risk allele. The main aim of this study was to examine whether the BDNF rs6265 polymorphism would influence the efficiency of a training program.
