Indonesian Journal of Research in Physical Education, Sport, and Health
Background: Physical fitness is a fundamental component of adolescent health and contributes to academic performance, mental well-being, and lifelong health outcomes. Following the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise in sedentary behavior, evidence on the fitness profiles of Indonesian senior secondary students—particularly in Islamic secondary schools (Madrasah Aliyah)—remains scarce. Objective: To assess the physical fitness level of Madrasah Aliyah students and to examine its association with body mass index (BMI) and self-reported physical activity. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 35 students (18 male, 17 female; aged 15–19 years) at MA Raudlatul Irfan, South Tangerang, using purposive sampling. Physical fitness …

The Impact Of Human Performance Initiatives In Improving Physical Readiness And Resiliency In Firefighters, Benjamin Rosner
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Physical readiness is essential for firefighters' operational success in emergent situations. There is a growing focus on integrating holistic health and fitness programs to enhance firefighters' physical fitness, as insufficient physical preparation can hinder performance and increase the risk of injury. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of an integrated human performance program within the Baltimore County Fire Department (BCoFD) by assessing archived data on firefighter recruits and the impact of periodized physical training on measures of physical readiness, resiliency, and injury history. A total of 34 firefighter recruits participated in a 29-week physical training program as part of …

International Journal of Exercise Science: Conference Proceedings
Both physical activity and high aerobic capacity have been linked to academic performance. Past data using questionnaires suggest that there is a link between physical activity levels and GPA. Very little data has used objective fitness measures, and no data has compared physical activity levels and aerobic capacity on GPA. PURPOSE: This correlational study aimed to assess the relationship between objectively measured physical activity and GPA in college students. METHODS: College students were recruited to participate in this correlational study. Participants wore an ActiGraph GT3X+ activity monitor (Pensacola, FL, USA) on their dominant wrist. They were asked to …
