Schools across the nation faced a teacher shortage, and North Carolina was no exception. North Carolina leaders used alternatively licensed teachers to fill vacancies. The purpose of this qualitative, interpretive study was to compare beginning alternatively licensed teachers’ perceptions to principals’ perceptions of the needed and implemented supports for beginning alternatively licensed teachers and how these supports may have improved beginning alternatively licensed teachers’ self-efficacy in K-12, rural, North Carolina schools. This study included 14 beginning alternatively licensed teachers who participated in a questionnaire and six principals who participated in semi-structured interviews. Little is known about the pathways Asian American women take to ascend to their first school leadership position in K–12 schools. This study explored the lived experiences of Asian American women who received their first school administrator job in New Jersey, the intersectionality of gender, race, age, and social norms and how these Asian American women developed as education leaders. The problem that was addressed through this study is that online undergraduate adult students, 25 years of age or older, do not persist to graduation at Caring University, a pseudonym for an online university. The purpose of this qualitative study was to investigate the perceptions of online adult undergraduate alumni about what motivated them to persist in their educational pursuits and what recommendations they have for instructors to motivate current students. Many students in rural schools have negative school safety perceptions. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological research study was to investigate the school safety perceptions of students in rural elementary, middle, and high schools in a public school district in South Carolina. The school safety perceptions of students in grades three through twelve were investigated and examined.

The setting for this study took place in a rural school district in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. Three schools in this district were utilized. Forty-three students participated in a short school safety interest survey. The survey provided basic information such …

Introduction: This pilot case study paper demonstrates how school programming can be aligned and enhanced to better create a climate of peace on an elementary school campus by utilizing an integral peace leadership lens. Working collectively as a Peace Leadership Advisory Group, the elementary school leadership team, and the university research team helped to align existing programming and explore and implement new programming to create a comprehensive plan for bringing peace ideas together at the elementary school level.

From teachers to principals to superintendents, Black women continue to struggle for opportunities to lead in the educational setting. This qualitative, phenomenological study examined the lived experiences of eight Black women who achieved educational leadership positions in K-12 education to understand how their race and gender have informed their personal lives and professional journeys. What Could School Accountability Look Like In A Post-Covid World?, Joel A. Leader

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted traditional school accountability systems, particularly those reliant on standardized testing. This study investigates how three Texas school districts responded to pandemic-related needs and adapted their locally developed Community-Based Accountability Systems (CBAS) to maintain accountability in the absence of standardized test data. Drawing on seven semi-structured interviews with district leaders, the study explores how educational leaders identified and addressed the emerging needs of their communities, such as mental health, technology access, and social-emotional support. The findings demonstrate that districts leveraging CBAS before the pandemic were better positioned to meet these challenges, providing more comprehensive accountability that extended …

Providing differentiated learning experiences for every student is one of the goals behind teacher collaboration (Reeves, 2003, Byrd, 2020). The problem examined in this study was that collaborative planning has been used as a solution to improve instructional quality in low-resourced schools, without assessing the effectiveness of that solution through the eyes of classroom teachers who taught solo. The purpose of this existential phenomenological study was to understand how teachers experience the trust-building process as they work with instructional coaches. Relational trust theory drove the work done for the study as it structures the elements necessary to build trust in the workplace. This paper examined research in regards to the effects of read alouds in the elementary school setting. Read alouds provided educators a way to equitably and inclusively introduce stories to students that will ultimately enhance their reading ability, comprehension, and overall enjoyment of literacy. Holistic development of school-going students has gained momentum. Developing countries need to equip students with skills to thrive in the contemporary world, yet research on this topic in Pakistan is limited. This study, therefore, examines students’ non-cognitive skills (i.e., social capabilities and life skills) using a sequential mixed-methods approach. The sample was selected through multi-stage cluster sampling technique. The quantitative sample comprised students (n=263) from eight schools. The qualitative sample of students (n=16), teachers (n=8), and school leaders (n=4) was purposively selected. The results revealed that students are socially capable and possess basic life skills.
