To prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), some types of public spaces have been shut down while others remain open. These decisions constitute a judgment about the relative danger and benefits of those locations. Using mobility data from a large sample of smartphones, nationally representative consumer preference surveys, and economic statistics, we measure the relative transmission reduction benefit and social cost of closing 26 categories of US locations. Our categories include types of shops, entertainments, and service providers. During the past decades, online advertisements for sex trafficking have rapidly increased in numbers. The advancement of the Internet and smart phones have made it easier for sex traffickers to contact and recruit their victims and advertise and sell them online. Also, they have made it more difficult for law enforcement to trace the victims and identify the traffickers. 本研究報告對於港資製造業這個領域的嶄新研究貢獻，主要歸結為以下幾個類別：

1. 以多項第一手數據表明，並讓香港特區政府重新認識到港資製造業在「延外發展」模式經營下對香港整體經濟佔有非常重要帶動作用、貢獻和地位；
2. 本報告通過挖掘包括國家工商總局在內的大數據方式，從而得出近年包括大灣區以至不同九個市在內的港資製造業企業數目、從業人員數目、註冊資本、營業利潤等的具體數字和變動情況；由於工商總局的註冊或登記數字的個案數比統計局的抽樣為主的統計數字更為具體，因而相關數字能夠更仔細的反映出港資製造業在大灣區內的經營情況，較具有參考價值；
3. 本報告以大數據結合問卷調查、深入訪談等方式交叉分析，互補有無，能夠發現更多港資製造業企業對大灣區的經濟貢獻具體情況，有助外界尤其是特區政府和內地相關部委了解到港資企業特別是港資製造業對整個大灣區經濟的重要性，尤其港資製造業如何對專業服務業產生帶動作用，有助社會各界重新關注振興製造業和實現製造業轉型升級的重要性，從而推出更為切合實際的具體振興方案；
4. 通過對不同企業和行業的深入訪談，可以令大家更為仔細了解港資製造業目前的經營情況、優勢所在和面對的挑戰，有助中小港資製造業企業借鑑相關經驗，從而發展壯大；

Corporate Decision-Making In The Presence Of Political Uncertainty: The Case Of Corporate Cash Holdings, William B. Hankins, Anna-Leigh Stone, Chak Hung Jack Cheng, Ching-Wai (Jeremy) Chiu

Using a quarterly panel of U.S. corporations over the period 1985 – 2014 we show that corporate managers respond to political uncertainty and economic policy uncertainty shocks in different ways. We proxy for political uncertainty using the Partisan Conflict Index and employ a prevalent empirical macroeconomic methodology to construct structural shocks that are orthogonal to shocks captured by the Economic Policy Uncertainty Index. Following a political uncertainty shock, corporations increase cash but do not adjust investment. Alternatively, following an economic policy uncertainty shock, firms appear to draw on cash and reduce capital spending to increase R&D spending.

Each league seeks to maintain high levels of parity, making matches and overall season more unpredictable and appealing to the general audience. This research presents an exploratory study concerning organizations’ best practices of Web analytics for a successful performance and the factors influencing the companies’ successful adoption of Web analytics.

A qualitative research methodology was used engaging a comprehension of Web analytics adoption using the Diffusion of Innovation theory (Rogers, 1995) and the theory building approach (Eisenhardt, 1989). Interviews with five companies from different industries were conducted.

Using a random sample of 184 companies traded on the New York Stock Exchange in 2019, this paper investigates the impact of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) investing on a company’s stock return. The results show that ESG investing has a positive and statistically significant impact on a company’s stock return. An increase in one ESG rating leads to an increase between 0.4% and 3.6% in the return of a company’s stock. Additionally, the results show that individual ESG factors are each statistically insignificant. This indicates that the three ESG factors need to be viewed together rather than individually. In this paper, we introduce a proof of concept that addresses the assumption and limitation of linear local boundaries by Local Interpretable Model-Agnostic Explanations (LIME), a popular technique used to add interpretability and explainability to black box models. LIME is a versatile explainer capable of handling different types of data and models. At the local level, LIME creates a linear relationship for a given prediction through generated sample points to present feature importance.
