As AI tools are becoming more integrated in higher education, how these tools may impact students’ perceptions of their own independent writing and communication skills has been questioned. This study seeks to understand how reliance on AI writing tools in higher education influences students’ perceived preparedness and confidence in their independent writing and communication skills. Survey data was collected from 102 university students; after removing incomplete entries, 99 responses were included in the final analysis. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, Spearman correlations, and Mann-Whitney U tests.

In recent years, rapid advances in natural language processing (NLP) have provided powerful new tools for extracting insights from the growing volume and complexity of corporate disclosures. This thesis investigates the bullwhip effect, the amplification of demand variability as it moves upstream in a supply chain, with a focus on the toy industry, and comparative analysis with the technology and consumer goods sectors. Using annual data from 1993 to 2024, the study analyzes production and retail growth for Mattel, Hasbro, Intel, and Procter & Gamble to assess how variance between consumer demand and firm output has changed over time. Bullwhip ratios are calculated as the variance of production growth divided by the variance of retail growth across two periods: 1993–2008 and 2009–2024.

Product returns in e-commerce affect the profitability of the e-tailer. We adopt a two-stage approach to reduce undelivered product returns in an e-commerce firm. First, we develop and compare machine learning techniques—logistic regression, decision trees, Naïve Bayes, random forest, adaptive boosting, gradient boosting, stochastic gradient boosting, and deep neural networks—on their ability to predict undelivered returns. Next, we use explainable methods, such as relative importance and Shapley values, to develop insights from the best-performing machine learning model. This NPO is a community-based service provider that supports people with disabilities and their families. It operates under the aegis of the Health Service Executive (HSE). Using a two-way fixed effects difference-in-difference model, this project analyzes data from the IPUMS Full Count census for 1850, 1860, and 1870 at a state level for 48 states. Four models assess the impact of property laws on women's real property holdings, labor force participation, household types, and real property values.

However, academic research has largely examined textual features in isolation, overlooking how visual content and its interaction with text shape perceived helpfulness. This dissertation addresses that gap by developing and empirically validating a comprehensive framework capturing how textual, visual, and contextual features collectively influence review evaluation. Advances in artificial intelligence, large-scale machine learning, and simulation technologies are rapidly transforming how sport is played, analyzed, and consumed. To date, most scholarly and industry discussions frame these technologies as tools that enhance embodied sport by improving performance, officiating, media production, and fan engagement. This paper extends that conversation by posing a more provocative strategic question: under what conditions might simulation move from enhancement to substitution? This paper examines global research trends, collaborative networks, and prevailing themes in digital zakat and Islamic fintech studies published from 2012 to 2025. We retrieved a total of 194 Scopus-indexed publications using bibliometric methods on September 23, 2025, and analyzed them using VOSviewer version 1.6.20. The analysis set a minimum occurrence threshold of 5 for keywords and a minimum citation threshold of 10 for documents. The results indicate that the number of publications has been steadily rising since 2017, with the most in 2023 (42 documents). This project examines the 2025 Pakistan floods as a multidimensional climate disaster that triggered severe human, agricultural, and economic consequences. Moving beyond event-based reporting, the study examines how climate change, weak governance, poor infrastructure planning, and delayed institutional responses intensified the scale of destruction. Using investigative journalism methods, the project combines field reporting from flood-affected areas, in-depth interviews with displaced communities, local activists, and experts, and analysis of official data and policy documents. The findings reveal widespread displacement, loss of livelihoods, food insecurity, and long-term social vulnerability, particularly among marginalized rural populations. This thesis examines why value-based investment strategies generate strong returns in some environments yet weaken or collapse in others. Regressions test whether the performance of the book-to-market ratio depends on the investor’s perception of financial health as defined by F-Score and accruals. Across additive regressions, interaction models, cross-sectionals, and heatmap visualizations, a consistent mechanism emerges. The book-to-market effect is strongest when financial information is neither highly reliable nor severely distressed. In these “moderate-quality” environments, investors struggle to fully distinguish the transitory components of earnings from their persistent counterparts. Purpose: The aim of this article is to identify and analyse the basic models of funding research and development infrastructure, as well as the challenges associated with them.

Methodology: The research methods used include interdisciplinary literature studies (economics, law, management), regulations and reports, as well as interviews with stakeholders.

Results: Four models for financing R&D infrastructures embedded in the state aid regime were identified: scientific, mixed, experimental, and economic. National experiences with their application were discussed. Their characteristics, challenges, and risks were presented. Discrepancies in terminology were noted, and directions for their interpretation were suggested.

The aviation sector is responsible for approximately 1–2% of global CO₂ emissions, and its environmental impact is expected to increase substantially by 2050. This study proposes a machine learning (ML)-based decision support framework to forecast carbon emissions in the airline sector.
