Research Aims: This study examined the influence of intellectual capital (IC) elements, namely human, structural and relational capital, on the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia. In addition, it examined the effects of IC elements on performance from the perspective of lifecycle stages. Methodology: This study employed a survey method using questionnaires. Underpinned by social exchange theory, this study examines how employee participation in Lean Thinking influence the employees' innovative behaviour. Research Aims: The present study aimed to examine the relationship between transformational leadership, job satisfaction and employee commitment to organisational change. Design/Methodology/Approach: Extension of a three-component model was employed. The study sample consisted of 474 employees in organisations undergoing a significant organisational change in Vietnam. The data were analysed using a structural equation model (SEM). Research Findings: The study results show that transformational leadership has a positive and significant influence on job satisfaction and organisational commitment to change (affective commitment, normative commitment, continuance commitment). This study investigates how political brand relationship quality (satisfaction and trust) influences political brand engagement (PBE) and voters' citizenship behaviour (VCB). In this paper, we introduce a proof of concept that addresses the assumption and limitation of linear local boundaries by Local Interpretable Model-Agnostic Explanations (LIME), a popular technique used to add interpretability and explainability to black box models. LIME is a versatile explainer capable of handling different types of data and models. At the local level, LIME creates a linear relationship for a given prediction through generated sample points to present feature importance. This paper attempts to analyze how local alcohol vendors maintain their inventory throughout the year in Columbia, attempting to manage factors such as the season, sporting events, and other public gatherings and events. The research question resulted in contacting over 30 local alcohol vendors in Columbia, to ask them questions regarding their strategy in alcohol inventory management. The responses to these questions were then used to organize the vendors into groups by whether or not they utilize a reorder point to purchase/brew alcohol, or if they utilize periodic ordering. Rising Action: The Effect Of Narrative Transportation On Consumer Purchase Behavior, Bryan Samuelsen

We investigate whether narrative transportation can have an effect, not only on beliefs and purchase intentions, but on purchase behavior. Participants watch a video related to digital assistants and choose whether to enter a drawing for their choice of a digital assistant or a gift card; we hypothesize that those whose transportation is inhibited will be less likely to choose the digital assistant. We successfully inhibit transportation in the pretest, but do not see similar results in the study and are thus unable to determine if there is an effect on behavior.

This paper provides a systematic and bibliometric review of 80 research articles on corruption in healthcare published in peer-reviewed journals between 2006 and 2017. Findings suggest that the number of studies has increased over time with a focus on low- and middle-income countries; academic researchers have published papers in a large variety of journals and have investigated different types of corruption with various methodologies. The interest is especially focused on low- and middle-income countries where corrupt behaviors are more common. The paper suggests future research directions to a dynamic research community to facilitate anticorruption actions by public authorities.

Evaluation of distribution center location, under uncertain environment belonging to fuzzy multi-criteria group decision-making (FMCGDM) problems, is an essential element of global supply chain management. In order to take into imprecision and vagueness of decision-making, this study uses Lee’s (2005a; 2005b) extended fuzzy preference relation to evaluate the problem of distribution center location in global supply chain management. Experiences with UNM’s parental leave policy C215 have been evaluated using the ADVANCE 2018 Main Campus Faculty Climate Survey, a series of junior faculty interviews, and concerns brought to the ADVANCE leadership. Key findings are:

• Women and STEM faculty are more hesitant to use family-leave policies, and perceive greater disadvantage in using them than men and non-STEM faculty
• Sharing of information about, and implementation of, parental leave varies significantly between units
• The attitude of the department chair and senior faculty strongly influence the experience of faculty who use parental leave

Do First Impressions Last? The Impact Of Initial Assessments And Subsequent Performance On Promotion Decisions, Dirk Black, Marshall Vance

This paper examines whether and for how long managers’ initial assessments of employee ability influence promotion decisions. Using archival data from minor league professional baseball, we find that, controlling for performance, initial assessments are associated with promotion decisions for at least six years after the initial assessment was made. We also find that initial assessments are positively associated with future performance at the outset of a player’s career, but the association becomes insignificant after a player accumulates on-the-job experience. We show that the weight on initial assessments for promotion decisions declines as additional on-the-job performance signals are observed, reflecting the …
