With this in mind, the intent of this study is twofold. First, this project aims at analyzing how foreigners establish businesses in Cape Town. Its objective is to trace the entrepreneurial process from the initial stages to its recent development. Second, it aims at outlining their experiences in Cape Town, thus serve as a …

Developing A Crm Strategy For Small Businesses, Brianna Butler, Megan Carignan

Honors Senior Capstone Projects

In a data-driven world, it is becoming easier than ever for businesses to gain more and more information about their customers and use that to their advantage. This data, gathered from previous business dealings, social media, inbound marketing and click data can be utilized to provide goods and services that are more accurately tailored to the specific consumer, and to provide successful customer service. However, there must be a customer relationship management (CRM) system in place to retain, sort, analyze and pull up information. This can be done using expensive software, which is what large and medium-sized corporations may do, …

Trust: A Model For Disclosure In Patent Law, Ari Ezra Waldman

Indiana Law Journal

How to draw the line between public and private is a foundational, first-principles question of privacy law, but the answer has implications for intellectual property, as well. This project is one in a series of papers about first-person disclosures of information in the privacy and intellectual property law contexts, and it defines the boundary between public and nonpublic information through the lens of social science —namely, principles of trust.

Patent law’s public use bar confronts the question of whether legal protection should extend to information previously disclosed to a small group of people. I present evidence that shows that current …

People, Planet, Profit: Benefit And B Certified Corporations - Comprehension And Outlook Of Business Students, Arlene J. Nicholas, Samuel Sacco

Faculty and Staff - Articles & Papers

This paper is an overview of the emergence of Benefit and Certified B Corporations that aim to realize a profit and make a positive impact on society as measured by some third party standard. However, the recent growth in legislation to create a legal framework for Benefit Corporations is newly emergent. An examination of recent literature explains the rise of these socially responsible organizations, …

Straight From The Horse's Mouth: An Examination Of Social Media Usage And Advertising Methodologies In The Sale Of Sporthorses, Michael Willham

Undergraduate Distinction Papers

This study discovered general market conditions as well as buyer and seller behavior in the sporthorse market for the disciplines of Dressage, Show Jumping, and Eventing. The efficient sale of sporthorses in these disciplines is equally as important of a consideration as the marketing and advertising decisions for any other product such as automobiles or electronics. Equids differ from regular products in that they typically have markedly higher inventory costs associated with the maintenance of holding onto a live animal. Therefore, it is arguably more imperative for businesses to determine the quickest and most efficient means to sell them. This …
