Purpose: Various microimplant- assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE) appliances were developed in these years. By applying this procedure, maxillary transverse deficiencies can be corrected in adults with limited dental tipping. However, some undesirable effects could happen during treatment. OBJECTIVES: We set out to reprogram adult somatic oral epithelial keratinocytes into pluripotent cells for regenerative dentistry.

SETTING AND SAMPLE POPULATION: Immortalized murine oral keratinocyte cell (IMOK) line raised from adult mouse mucosa were cultured in vitro in our studies.

MATERIALS AND METHODS: Adult murine oral epithelial keratinocytes were chronically treated with TGF-β1 in vitro, and the expression of Oct4, Nanog, Sox2 and Nestin, as well as specific homeobox Gata and Pax gene family members were investigated.

Materials and methods: Twenty patients with Angle's class II div 1 (10 males and 10 females; aged 20.25 ± 3.88 years) needing bilateral extractions of maxillary first bicuspids were recruited. This case report presents the outcome of atypical extraction and effect of Twin Block appliance on a growing adolescent. A 12-year-old boy who had complained about protrusive upper lips after being involved in a traffic accident. Tooth 11 was replanted at a local dental clinic, while tooth 21 was lost. In extra-oral examination, this patient had convex profile, obtuse nasolabial angle, and receded chin position. The aim of the study was to compare shear bond strengths and friction forces of various self-ligating ceramic brackets. Materials and methods: The present study is divided into two parts. Methods: Participating private practice orthodontists emailed the survey to active patients. 75 self-pay patients from VCU Orthodontic clinic were also invited to complete the survey.
