The etiology of Angle’s Class II malocclusion are: 1.maxillary protrusion, 2.mandibular retrusion, 3.combination of both. The therapeutic methods of Angle’s Class II malocclusion with mandibular retrusion by using the functional appliance will correct neuromuscular dysfunction, remodeling of the glenoid fossa and enhancement of condyle growth by anterior positioning of mandible. In this case report will present a patient of Angle’s Class II malocclusion with mandibular retrusion. By using multiple functional appliances during active growth period to improve mandible forward positioned and the maxilla-mandible relation is altered. A stable mini-implant provides a splendid orthodontic anchorage, which leads a profound influence to the treatment course. This study used finite element method, with a molar and premolar on the posterior mandible by computerized simulation, to investigate the biomechanical effects of the orthodontic mini-implant. Factorial analyses were performed including the cortical bone thickness, the diameter of the mini-implant and angle of the orthodontic force. The results showed that the diameter of the mini-implant affected the stress distribution on the cortical bone. All parameters had significantly effects on the cancellous bone stresses. The main characteristics of craniosynostosis were premature fusion of cranial sutures with specific skull shapes. There are divided into nonsyndromic and syndromic craniosynostosis. Syndromic craniosynostosis (SCS) was an inherited congenital craniofacial disorder and approximately 15% of craniosynostosis had associated anomalies in the face and limbs. Crouzon syndrome, Apert syndrome, Pfeiffer syndrome and Jackson-Weiss syndrome were the examples of SCS. A case of mandibular prognathism with facial asymmetry was presented. The missing left central incisor was previously restored with a compromising cantilever bridge. Interdisciplinary approach including orthodontics, orthognathic surgery, and prosthetic dentistry was performed and gave patient a better esthetic and functional result. Ways to achieve better esthetics, evaluation and possibility of surgery-first orthognathic approach, and other possible treatment options were discussed.

Facial asymmetry may originate from mandibular deviation combined with secondary maxillary compensation in vertical dimension, which can lead to occlusal plan canting. Two-jaw surgery would be an ideal choice for these cases in the past. The aims of this retrospective cephalometric study were to assess the results of presurgical treatment on the subjects presenting with Class III malocclusion and to evaluate the correlation between soft and hard tissues. Initial (T0) and presurgical (T1) lateral cephalograms of 17 patients were examined. Mean age was 20.4 years initially. Subjects were treated with presurgical orthodontic treatment. Initial and presurgical variables were compared using paired t-test, and the relationship of soft and hard tissue variables was studied using Pearson correlation coefficient and linear regression equation. Cleidocranio-dysplasia is an autosomal dominant disease. RUNX2(CBFA1) is the only gene known to be associated with CCD. The clinical characteristic of skeletal dysplasia including delayed or ectopic eruption of permanent teeth, multiple supernumanary teeth, delayed resorption of primary root, dilacerations of permanent and supernumanary teeth, malocclusion with skeletal discrepancy. Restoration of severely damaged anterior tooth requires comprehensive evaluation and carefully treatment plan making. A case of inadequade supra-gingival tooth structure of maxillary central incisor which needs restoration was presented. Forced eruption was used to lengthen the clinical crown, and adjust the gingival level. Then full ceramic crowns were restored for esthetic demands of the patient. The etiology of missing maxillary lateral incisors may include congenital missing ones, and previous extractions due to traumatic injury or large dental caries. Spacing and malocclusions following missing maxillary lateral incisors often result in significant impacts on facial esthetics and oral function. To treat these patients, there are orthodontic alternatives to choose from: (1) canine substitution, (2) autotransplantation, (3) conventional prosthetic restorations, and (4) single implants. The aim of this article is to review the prevalence of congenital missing maxillary lateral incisors, and the above-mentioned treatment options for managing missing maxillary lateral incisors.

Current cephalometry in dentistry relies on plain lateral films to evaluate craniofacial structure of patients. This concept is based on 2D images which are difficult to apply in complicated craniofacial structures. The purpose of this study is to develop a 3D cephalometric analysis by reconstructing the 3D-CT skull images, which provides landmark identification and Downs analysis in the 3D software. The case report is presented on an adult patient who had surgical-orthodontic treatment to solve her skeletal Class III malocclusion with mandible deviation. Conventional approach of surgical-orthodontic therapy requires a varied period of pre-surgical orthodontic treatment, the most important work to do is dental decompensation. The case was treated by surgical-first approach with minimal pre-surgical orthodontics, i.e. most of the detail orthodontic works (leveling, alignment and interdigitation) were done after orthognathic surgery. The total treatment time was 12 months. The facial symmetry and optimal occlusion were achieved.

Totally one hundred and thirty two clinics were investigated. The assistant works and its correlated issue were calculated. The results showed most orthodontists allowed assistant works are including X ray taking, impression taking and oral hygiene education. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the changes in morphology of mandibular symphysis in Class III malocclusion after pre-surgical dental decompensation. Thirteen patients underwent orthognathic surgery to correct Class III skeletal and dental malocclusions. The dental decompensation was indicated for these patients to gain greater setback amount of bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy. The morphology was assessed through lateral cephalograms obtained initially and preoperatively. After pre-surgical dental decompensation, the sagittal discrepancies were maintained. An alternative surgical treatment plan was presented to show how to efficiently correct mandibular prognathism without large overjet discrepancy presented. The protrusive chin was eliminated through clockwise rotation of the occlusal plane and maxillo-mandibular complex. Within this method, no complicated orthodontic treatment was needed and the total treatment time was therefore shortened. The smiling arc was also improved. The philosophy, clinical application, long term stability, and side effects of the occlusal plane manipulation in orthognathic surgery were discussed.

The etiology of anterior cross-bite is multi-factor and the advocated treatment options were abundant. Early orthodontic treatments including chin-cap, face mask and palatal expansion have been recommended by many scholars. But some other clinicians would delay the orthodontic treatment combined with orthognathic surgery for Class III cases till the completion of growth, if there were no obvious detriment to patients’ oral function or psychological impact to their social life. However, for cases of non-skeletal anterior cross-bite (Pseudo-Class III) malocclusion, early orthodontic correction would be beneficial to normal maxillary forward growth and may prevent occlusal trauma of anterior teeth.
