Relevance Analysis Of Deicing Parameters And Deicing Efficiency Of Aircraft Ground, Bin Chen, Liwen Wang
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Aircraft ground freezing could lead to potential danger and delay for flight. To alleviate these problems, the main method is to use the deicing fluids to clean ice or snow on the aircraft body, which lacks of reference of the deicing fluids parameters and efficiency. To study the effect of the deicing fluids parameters on the aircraft deicing efficiency, the deicing mechanism is analyzed. The black box mathematical model of the deicing process is generalized abstractly. The deicing process is divided into two subprocesses to establish the deicing model. The relevance between the deicing fluids parameters and deicing efficiency is studied …

A Novel Algorithm For Improving Fairness Between Uplink And Downlink Flows In Heterogeneous Network, Peiyu Li, Zheqing Li, Wang Hui, Xia Qian
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: In order to improve the fairness between uplink and downlink flows in AP optimization, a novel algorithm called FOUD(fairness over uplink and downlink) is proposed.Considering the influence of the attempt limit and the bit error rate of wireless, the FOUD algorithm modeling of AP and wireless stations is studied separately by using two-dimensional Markov chain, which derives the probability of data sending under the condition of different bit error rate and different number of uplink and downlink flows. Simulation results show that FOUD can improve the fairness of the uplink and downlink bandwidth as well as the …

A Method Of Finding The Shortest Path Of Dynamic Networks, Lunwen Wang, Zhang Ling
A Method Of Finding The Shortest Path Of Dynamic Networks, Lunwen Wang, Zhang Ling
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: We analyze the research status of finding the shortest path of dynamic networks, analyze the complexity of getting the shortest path, study the relationship between the structure of the dynamic networks and finding the shortest path of the dynamic networks. It is proved that dynamic networks defined by velocity automatically meet weak FIFO’s condition. The networks whose passing function of any side is not decreasing function equals dynamic networks which use velocity. The sufficient condition of directly using Dijkstra algorithm to get the shortest path is that the networks must meet weak FIFO’s condition. How to build a …

Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Considering friction, modeling errors and other uncertainties of flight simulator servo system, a compensation strategy which combines model-based friction compensation with nonlinear disturbance observer compensation was proposed. First, the friction is modeled , whose parameters are identified by using genetic algorithm, and using the identified model to compensate. Second, using a nonlinear disturbance observer to estimate the modeling errors, friction less-compensation or over-compensation and other uncertainties, and using this observed value to compensate. The system adopted sliding backstepping controller to ensure the stabilization of the system. Finally, the fuzzy algorithm is adopted to adjust the switching gain of sliding …

Investigating A Cyber-Human System For Millennial Caregivers, Ashley Lofton
Theses
Research indicates that most caregiving of persons with dementia (PwD) is done by adults 49 years of age and older. However, millennials make up 25% of the estimated 44 million caregivers in the United States. Although the definition varies, “millennials” for this research is defined by those born between 1984 - 2000, which aligns with the research by Strauss and Howe (2003). Millennial caregivers are taking on this task as their parents or grandparents get older and diagnosed with dementia. Taking on the task of caring for a loved one with dementia can present itself as difficult because of competing …

A Structured Methodology For Tailoring And Deploying Lean Manufacturing Systems, Kenneth John Gembel Ii
Wayne State University Dissertations
The seminal works of Peter Drucker and James Womack in the 1990’s outlined the lean manufacturing practices of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) to become a world leader in manufacturing. These philosophies have since become the springboard for a significant paradigm shift in approaching manufacturing systems and how to leverage them to optimize operational practices and gain competitive advantage. While there is no shortage of literature touting the benefits of Lean Manufacturing Systems (LMS), there has been significant difficulty in effectively deploying them to obtain and sustain the performance that TMC has achieved.
This body of work provides a novel methodology …

The physical design of a retail store is known to influence the attitude and behavior of shoppers, in turn affecting the store’s performance. While literature in retail design has alluded to the impact of changes in department placements on impulse revenue, it has not accounted for the changes in the path of a shopper due to such modifications. Shopper path changes can alter a department’s visibility to the shoppers as they pass by, and such visibility eventually impacts that department’s impulse revenue. To address this gap, we study the retail facility layout problem by accounting for changes in the shopper …

This report describes a software tool that calculates costs associated with the reconstruction of supply chain interdependent critical infrastructure in the advent of a catastrophic failure by either outside forces (extreme events) or internal forces (fatigue). This tool fills a gap between search and recover strategies of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (or FEMA) and construction techniques under full recovery. In addition to overall construction costs, the tool calculates reconstruction needs in terms of personnel and their required support. From these estimates, total costs (or the cost of each element to be restored) can be calculated. Estimates are based upon …
An Analysis Of Resistance Spot Weld Quality Based On Acoustic And Electrical Signatures, Ivan Charles Butler
An Analysis Of Resistance Spot Weld Quality Based On Acoustic And Electrical Signatures, Ivan Charles Butler
Theses and Dissertations--Manufacturing Systems Engineering
The union of a set of materials by way of Resistance Spot Welding is designed so that once fused together, a substantial amount of intentional, external force must be applied to separate the contents. Therefore, Resistance Spot Welding is often the preferred fusion method in high-volume manufacturing processes. The result of Resistance Spot Welding however is the formation of a weld nugget which is not visible to the naked eye. Destructive and/or ultrasonic methods applied off-line must be used to determine the quality of each weld; both inefficient and expensive processes. The following research analyzes the data fed back during …
