Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: To characterize the dynamic features of electromechanical system, a method is researched for dynamic parameters extraction from the forced vibration responses. The forced vibration response signals are processed by HVD method, and the free damped oscillation components are acquired. The equalization procedures are implemented for the backbones and damping data, the resonance frequency and Q value are therefore accurately estimated. Simulation results show that the calculated resonance frequency and Q value coincide well with the theoretical values. A good anti-noise performance of the proposed …

Effect Of Flow Field Environment On Microstructure Surface Preventing Microorganism Attachment, Chunxi Li, Quanxi Xue, Xiangshan Zhang, Xuemin Ye
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: The kinetic characteristics of microorganism model moving in different surfaces and flow field environments are simulated. The internal flow dynamics and the inherent mechanism of antifouling on microstructure surface are examined. The results indicate that for the static flow field, vortices are generated in the micro-pits as microorganism moves above microstructure surface. The velocity in the microstructure surface is greater than that in the smooth surface, and the strain rate and shear stress exerted on microorganism are relatively smaller resulting in the rapid passing the microstructure surface. For the dynamic flow field, the flow field presents regular fluctuations …

Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Aiming at the problems that the two-phase flow regime recognition speed is slow and the recognition accuracy is low, a flow regime recognition method is proposed based on cross recursive analysis (CRA) without imaging. The false nearest neighbors are used to analyze flow regime capacitance values measured by capacitance sensor to obtain an optimal embedding dimension; and the embedding dimension of cross recursive plot is established for several typical flow patterns. The capacitance values of the simulation flow regimes and the reference flow regimes are analyzed using cross recursion to get a set of cross recursive plots. The similarity …

Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: A design method of the polytopic controller under the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is proposed in addressing the low efficiency of the wind turbine under rated wind speed and uncertainty of the wind speed. Considering high nonlinearity of the aerodynamic system, the Jacobi linearization and the convex decomposition technique are employed to transform the wind turbine system into a polytopic linear parameter varying (LPV) model with the bias torque of the aerodynamic torque as the scheduling variable. By solving the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), a polytopic LPV controller is obtained. The simulation results show that the designed controller …

Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: To make the trolley of bridge crane move stably with smooth acceleration, a polynomial acceleration trajectory is proposed based on the constraint conditions of the crane and the friction between the trolley and the rail. An anti-swing plan is designed employing the dynamic coupling relationship between the motion of the trolley and the load swing. Results indicate that when the length of the rope is changed, the swing angle of the trolley is still within the limits. The stability of the system is proved by constructing Lyapunov energy equations, and the Barbalat lemma confirms that the planned reference trajectory …

Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Named entity recognition in Thai language is aimed to identify the names of a person, a locality,an organization or an institution, and so on. Due to the complexity of Thai word formation method and grammar rules, to solve this problem, the idea of the approach proposed is to treat the task of named entity recognition in Thai language as labeling the sign of a series of words in Thai sentence. Given the characteristics of Thai language itself, certain features in the context of the samples in the Thai entity recognition corpus are extracted to train the hidden Markov model and …

As the interconnectedness of the world grows, the need to prepare college students capable of addressing complexity likewise grows. In this context, the University of Dayton has developed and tested a transdisciplinary model for education. This model links multiple classes from different disciplines via a common theme and within a common space. It also employs an educational model premised on the following trajectory: disciplinary content development / transdisciplinary observation (empathy); transdisciplinary disruption leading to “A-Ha” observations which transform the disciplinary directions; and lastly transdisciplinary informed design and research. Central to this model is a 3,500 square foot common space used …

Development Of Cislunar Space Logistics Networks For Satellite Constellation Support Using Event-Driven Generalized Multi-Commodity Network Flows, Alexander R. Collins
Theses and Dissertations
As space becomes an increasingly congested domain, the risk of damage to satellite constellations is increasing. In response, there is an increasing need for capabilities for unmanned repair, refueling, and reconstitution (R3) of those constellations. Cislunar orbits offer a promising storage and low-cost transfer solution for on-orbit service vehicles and replacement satellites to leverage those capabilities. This research makes use of mixed-integer linear programming-based logistics models to determine the situations in which a cislunar mission architecture would offer a cost-effective alternative to Earth-based R3. The network models presented in this research make use of the latest developments in Event-Driven Generalized …
