This paper argues that Hip Hop Pedagogy is a version of Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy and should be a part of art education. Further, we believe that when exploring Hip Hop Pedagogy, teachers need to reference the work of Black female and non-binary artists. After an overview of Hip Hop Pedagogy and Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy, we argue that these approaches should be a consistent part of art education. Through the work of contemporary visual artist and DJ, Rozeal, we offer suggestions for art educators about how they might transition their practice to embrace some aspects of Hip Hop Pedagogy. The mathematical construct is a type of symmetry and it carries a positive affect. This is important because there have been no studies that have investigated the use of the symmetry in the artwork compositions of persons with Down syndrome. Arts Education: A Philanthropic Priority?, Clare Murray

Through restricted donations, donors to private, independent not-for-profit US art museums are able to affect the prioritization of museum activities. Using annual data from museums’ Form 990s and AAMD survey responses, I test whether restricted giving affects a museum’s educational programming by analyzing the effect of restricted assets on education department performance indicators. I find that a percentage point increase in permanently restricted assets as a proportion of total assets is associated with a 0.1876 percentage point increase in education expenses as a share of total expenses. Through qualitative informational interviews, I recognize this impact as evidence that arts education …

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program [IB PYP] is a student-driven, inquiry-based elementary school level educational program that has grown rapidly in the United States since its creation in 1997. This study explores how IB PYP art teachers define and implement inquiry-based instructional methods in their art rooms through a nation-wide, online survey of art teachers, coordinators, and administrators. The Survey consists of 22 questions which ask respondents to describe their classroom practices and provide examples of how they make use of inquiry-based methods in the art room. As a TA, I have more than a decade of experience implementing spoken word and hip-hop as a pedagogical approach in urban public school classrooms. This study draws on student engagement factors to examine the relationship between students’ non-school-based arts experiences on their intrinsic motivation and self-efficacy to participate in visual arts responding tasks. Visual arts responding in the curriculum includes learning about artists and artworks, decoding art and making critical judgements, and is important in building twenty-first century learning skills such as critical thinking and communication. This article problematizes and discusses the “auto”ethnographical approach, which has recently become pervasive in research-oriented writings, to “tell the story of self and subject” in order to analyze wider cultural and social conditions. This method can be found in the remarkable array of a variety of disciplines in which scholars have explicitly and implicitly highlighted identity-related issues. One problem with this approach is its failure to recognize the ideological generalization in identifying the researcher’s position, with the risk of eventually becoming a neutral “truth through the researcher’s reality.” This paper focuses on the crisis between history and memory in contextualizing …

Budgetary constraints have led many educational leaders to limit arts education programming to students across the state of Pennsylvania. The purpose of this qualitative dissertation was to investigate how educational leaders sustain access to arts education programs using alternative budgetary resources for K-12 students in Pennsylvania Title I schools. This multiple case study provided analysis within and across Pennsylvania Title I schools to help fill a gap in the educational leadership literature regarding alternative budgeting strategies to meet programming needs. Ghada Amer is a diasporic, female, artist of color who creates canvases that wield the domestic as both medium and subject. Her fiber work, including an early formative series combined with her later pornography pieces, feature densely threaded surfaces where images of women working oscillate between representation and non-objectivity. This thesis intervenes with the existing discourse surrounding Amer’s oeuvre by utilizing the artist’s own words along with materialist and intersectional theoretical material to offer two novel interpretive approaches. Competition is reported in the general education literature as having a largely detrimental impact upon student engagement and long-term motivation, yet competition has long been an accepted part of the music education ensemble landscape. Adjudicated ensemble competitions and competition-festivals are commonplace in most Australian states, as opposed to large-scale cooperative events. Arguments advanced in support of competitive events revolve primarily around perceived extra-musical benefits framed from the director / conductor perspective. This article provides insights into the current state of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) implementation in music classrooms throughout Queensland, Australia, through the perspectives of classroom music teachers with regard to organisational practices that influence the implementation of ICT in music education. Using explanatory sequential mixed methods, a quantitative survey gathered music teachers’ perspectives regarding the availability of ICT resources, ICT support, teacher confidence, current teaching practices and professional development. This qualitative study investigates the dialogic interactions between teacher and student that enhance learning and teaching within the one-to-one music improvisation lesson. This study analyses the ways teachers elicit student actions, thoughts and processes that develop student skills, critical and creative thinking processes necessary for improvisational development. Interactions and interplay between six Australian conservatoire improvisation students and their teachers were investigated. Data reveal dialogic interactions that span instruction, conversation, inquiry and enablement of student knowledge and skills that constitute a complex socio-cultural tapestry of discursive threads. งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาชุดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้เพื่อส่งเสริมการเห็นคุณค่าศิลปะล้านนาและศึกษาผลการใช้ชุดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ที่ส่งเสริมการเห็นคุณค่าศิลปะล้านนา กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ 1) ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ จำนวน 10 คน เป็นศิลปินที่ทำงานศิลปะไทยในท้องถิ่น 4 คน อาจารย์สอนศิลปะสำหรับวัยรุ่น 1 คน อาจารย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านศิลปะไทย 4 คน และนักวิชาการที่เชี่ยวชาญในการพัฒนาชุดกิจกรรม 1 คน และวัยรุ่นที่มีอายุ 18-25 ปี จำนวน 70 คน เพื่อใช้เก็บข้อมูลสร้างชุดกิจกรรม 2) วัยรุ่นในจังหวัดเชียงราย อายุ 18-25 ปี จำนวน 14 คน เพื่อใช้ทดลองชุดกิจกรรม เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสัมภาษณ์ แบบสังเกต แบบสอบถามและการสะท้อนคิด วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยค่าความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาผลการวิจัยพบว่า รูปแบบของชุดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้เพื่อส่งเสริมการเห็นคุณค่าศิลปะล้านนา มีดังนี้ 1) แนวคิดสำคัญของชุดกิจกรรม คือ เป็นกิจกรรมที่บูรณาการทั้งภาคทฤษฎีและปฏิบัติ ให้ผู้เรียนได้เรียนรู้เรื่องราว ความสำคัญของศิลปะล้านนา จากศิลปวัตถุและสถานที่จริง ประกอบกับข้อความรู้จากคู่มือและการทำกิจกรรมการตอบคำถาม ถ่ายภาพ วาดภาพ เล่นเกม และการสร้างสรรค์งานศิลปะที่ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากศิลปะล้านนา โดยเป็นกิจกรรมที่มีการเตรียมความพร้อมด้านอุปกรณ์และสื่อต่างๆ มีการใช้บทบาทสมมติและมีรูปแบบกิจกรรมที่เหมาะสมกับธรรมชาติของวัยรุ่น เพื่อให้ผู้เรียนได้เรียนรู้อย่างสนุกสนาน เกิดอารมณ์ร่วมกับบทบาทสมมติและบริบททางประเพณีของกิจกรรม ใช้ระยะเวลาในการทำกิจกรรม 1 วัน 2) วัตถุประสงค์ คือ เพื่อให้ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมเข้าถึงคุณค่าของศิลปะล้านนา ผ่านการซึมซับผลงานศิลปะและสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะของตนเอง 3) องค์ประกอบของชุดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ ได้แก่ คู่มือการใช้ชุดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ เนื้อหา สื่อการเรียนรู้ และแบบประเมิน 4) องค์ประกอบด้านลักษณะของผู้เรียนและผู้สอน ใช้ผู้สอน 1 คนต่อผู้เรียน 15 คน ผู้สอนมีหน้าที่อธิบายรายละเอียดดูแลและควบคุมกิจกรรม ส่วนผู้เรียนมีหน้าที่ให้ความร่วมมือในการทำกิจกรรมศิลปะ หลังจากได้นำชุดกิจกรรมไปทดลองใช้กับวัยรุ่นในเชียงรายพบว่า ผู้เรียนเกิดการเห็นคุณค่าศิลปะล้านนาอยู่ในระดับมาก โดยผู้เรียนเห็นคุณค่าศิลปะด้านรูปทรงมากที่สุด มีระดับความรู้เกี่ยวกับศิลปะล้านนาอยู่ในระดับมาก มีพฤติกรรมการเห็นคุณค่าศิลปะถึงระดับการรู้คุณค่าในขั้นชื่นชอบคุณค่าและมีความรู้สึกในเชิงบวกต่อกิจกรรมศิลปะ

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาและพัฒนาชุดกิจกรรมการสอนโปรแกรมวาดภาพระบายสีเพื่อส่งเสริมทักษะการสร้างสรรค์ศิลปะด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 2 และ 2) ศึกษาผลของการใช้ชุดกิจกรรมการสอนโปรแกรมวาดภาพระบายสีเพื่อส่งเสริมทักษะการสร้างสรรค์ศิลปะด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 2 โดยกลุ่มตัวอย่างและเครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ระยะ ได้แก่ ระยะที่ 1) อาจารย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านคอมพิวเตอร์ศิลปะในระดับประถมศึกษา โดยเก็บข้อมูลด้วยแบบสัมภาษณ์และแบบสังเกตการสอน และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพ และระยะที่ 2) นักเรียนระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 2 เพื่อศึกษาผลของการทดลองใช้ชุดกิจกรรม โดยเก็บข้อมูลผ่านแบบประเมินตนเองเกี่ยวกับสมรรถนะด้านเทคโนโลยีคอมพิวเตอร์ก่อนและหลังเรียน แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมอันพึงประสงค์ของผู้เรียนในศตวรรษที่ 21 แบบประเมินผลด้านการสร้างสรรค์ศิลปะด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์ และแบบสัมภาษณ์ผู้เรียนด้านความพึงพอใจต่อชุดกิจกรรม วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล หาค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิต ค่าร้อยละและวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพ ชุดกิจกรรมการสอนโปรแกรมวาดภาพระบายสีเพื่อส่งเสริมทักษะการสร้างสรรค์ศิลปะด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 2 ประกอบด้วย 1) แผนการสอน 2) สื่อการสอน 3) แบบประเมินผล โดยมีองค์ประกอบ 5 ประการ 1) มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาทักษะคอมพิวเตอร์และทักษะการสร้างสรรค์งานศิลปะของผู้เรียน 2) ใช้รูปแบบการสอนด้วยวิธีการคิดเชิงออกแบบ 3) กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้สอดคล้องกับความสนใจผู้เรียน 4) ใช้สื่อการสอนประเภทเทคโนโลยีคอมพิวเตอร์ 5) ประเมินผลจากพฤติกรรมและผลงานของผู้เรียน จากนั้นผู้วิจัยทดลองใช้ชุดกิจกรรมและศึกษาผลของการใช้ชุดกิจกรรม พบว่า 1) ผู้เรียนประเมินสมรรถนะด้านเทคโนโลยีคอมพิวเตอร์หลังเรียนสูงขึ้นกว่าก่อนเรียนทั้ง 4 ด้าน คือ ด้านทักษะคอมพิวเตอร์ทั่วไป, ด้านทักษะการบริหารจัดการไฟล์และการจัดการประมวลผลข้อมูล, ด้านทักษะการสื่อสารแบบออนไลน์และด้านข้อมูลสารสนเทศ 2) นักเรียนมีระดับคุณภาพพฤติกรรมการเรียนรู้ในศตวรรษที่ 21 อยู่ในระดับดีมาก 3) นักเรียนมีระดับคุณภาพการสร้างสรรค์งานศิลปะด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์อยู่ในระดับดีมาก และ 4) นักเรียนมีความพึงพอใจต่อชุดกิจกรรมการสอนโปรแกรมวาดภาพระบายสีในระดับดีมาก

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนาชุดกิจกรรมศิลปะเพื่อส่งเสริมสันติวัฒนะรรมสำหรับวัยรุ่นอายุ 12-14 ปี และ 2) ศึกษาผลการใช้ชุดกิจกรรมศิลปะเพื่อส่งเสริมสันติวัฒนธรรมกลุ่มเป้าหมาย คือ วัยรุ่นอายุ 12-14 ปี ที่อาศัยในพื้นที่สามจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ จำนวน 30 คน ระยะเวลา 8 ชั่วโมง หรือ 1 วัน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ ได้แก่ 1) แบบสัมภาษณ์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญสันติวัฒนธรรม และผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนในพื้นที่สามจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ 2) แบบบันทึกการประชุมกลุ่ม 3) แบบสังเกตการณ์แบบมีส่วนร่วม 4) แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมบ่งชี้สันติวัฒนธรรม 5) แบบประเมินความพึงพอใจ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล โดยการหาความถี่ ค่าเฉลี่ยร้อยละ และการวิเคราะห์เชิงเนื้อหา ผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1) ชุดกิจกรรมศิลปะเพื่อส่งเสริมสันติวัฒนะรรมประกอบด้วย 3 กิจกรรม ได้แก่ กิจกรรมความงามของความหลากหลาย สีน้ำสร้างสุข และสร้างเมืองในฝัน 2) ผลการใช้ชุดกิจกรรมศิลปะเพื่อส่งเสริมสันติวัฒนธรรม สำหรับวัยรุ่น อายุ 12-14 ปี โดยวิเคราะห์ผลจากการสังเกตพฤติกรรมบ่งชี้ทางสันติวัฒนธรรม พบว่า พฤติกรรมสันติวัฒนธรรมที่พบมากที่สุด คือ ด้านการยอมรับความแตกต่าง คิดเป็นร้อยละ 98.71 รองลงมา คือ ด้านทักษะการทำงานร่วมกัน และทักษะการแก้ไขความขัดแย้งและปฏิเสธความรุนแรง คิดเป็นร้อยละ 97.43 ด้านการเข้าใจตนเอง คิดเป็นร้อยละ 96.15 ด้านทักษะการสื่อสารหรือแสดงความคิดเห็น คิดเป็นร้อยละ 74.78 และด้านการรู้จักคิดวิเคราะห์ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 61.53 ตามลำดับ 3) ผลการประเมินความพึงพอใจ พบว่า ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมมีความพึงพอใจต่อลักษณะการสื่อสารและการเป็นที่ปรึกษาของวิทยากรมากที่สุดเท่ากับ µ = 4.92 รองลงมา คือ อยากให้มีจัดกิจกรรมขึ้นอีกในอนาคต เท่ากับ µ = 4.84 และความพร้อมของสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกและอุปกรณ์ต่าง ๆ เท่ากับ µ = 4.72 โดยผู้เข้าร่วมมีความพึงพอใจในภาพรวมเท่ากับ µ …

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนากิจกรรมศิลปะแบบพหุศาสตร์เพื่อส่งเสริมพัฒนาการแบบองค์รวมของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 2) ศึกษาผลของการจัดกิจกรรมศิลปะแบบพหุศาสตร์เพื่อส่งเสริมพัฒนาการแบบองค์รวมของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักเรียนประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 โรงเรียนวัดพระปฐมเจดีย์ฯ จังหวัดนครปฐม จำนวน 40 คน โดยวิธีการสุ่มแบบจับฉลาก เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสังเกตการณ์สอน แบบสัมภาษณ์ เพื่อใช้เก็บข้อมูลสร้างกิจกรรม แบบประเมินพัฒนาการแบบองค์รวมแบบสอบถามความพึงพอใจของผู้เรียน เพื่อใช้ทดลองกิจกรรม วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) กิจกรรมศิลปะแบบพหุศาสตร์เพื่อส่งเสริมพัฒนาการแบบองค์รวม เป็นกิจกรรมศิลปะที่บูรณาการเนื้อหาสาระและกระบวนการ ให้ผู้เรียนได้เชื่อมโยงความรู้ในศาสตร์ต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ วิทยาศาสตร์ คณิตศาสตร์ ภาษาไทย สังคมศึกษา การงานอาชีพและเทคโนโลยี สุขศึกษาและพละศึกษา และภาษาอังกฤษ ผ่านการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานวาดภาพระบายสี การปั้น ภาพพิมพ์ ปะติด และศิลปะประดิษฐ์ โดยใช้กระบวนการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ Studio Habits of Mind (SHoM) เป็นกิจกรรมที่เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้เรียนได้เลือกวิธีการเรียนรู้ตามความต้องการของตน และช่วยส่งเสริมพัฒนาการแบบองค์รวมผ่านการปฏิบัติกิจกรรมศิลปะระยะเวลาในการทดลอง 8 สัปดาห์ สัปดาห์ละ 2 ชั่วโมง 2) ผลพัฒนาการแบบองค์รวมจากการทำกิจกรรมทั้ง 4 ด้าน คือ พัฒนาการด้านร่างกาย พัฒนาการด้านอารมณ์ พัฒนาการด้านสังคม และพัฒนาการด้านปัญญา โดยภาพรวมผู้เรียนมีระดับพัฒนาการอยู่ในระดับมาก และผลของความพึงพอใจของผู้เรียนต่อกิจกรรม มีความพึงพอใจอยู่ในระดับมาก
