Peter Dee - Strategic Design & Marketing Consultant, was responsible for the design and development of the brand identity for the Enterprise Ireland Student Creativity Day which was used on business cards, letterhead, appliction forms, information literature, large format posters, t-shirts and website. Competing in multi-disciplinary teams, students provided an innovative & creative solution to an exacting design brief. The design brief reflected the following themes: interface, learning, science, media, communications and fashion. The design jury included representatives of Irish business and IDI members.

The printed word has been commonplace in society for over 500 years; the written word has been in existence for thousands. The primary intent of the written or printed word has historically been to be read. With that goal, rules and formats have developed over the centuries as aids to legibility. Naturally, these guidelines have been developed for the printed, or static typographic page. As our sophistication with and acceptance of technology grows, however, we increasingly turn to the computer or television screen for written information. A Needs Assessment To Determine How Professionals Rate The Functions Of Photoshop, Eric Nelson Wilkinson

Electronic Theses & Dissertations

This study determines that rating of various Photoshop functions by professionals who use Photoshop in their occupation. These participants were given a survey which asked them to rate the functions of Photoshop in three ways. First, they were asked to rate the function by its frequency of use, then they rated the function by its importance, and finally to rate the function as to whether or not it would be needed at entry to the occupation.

Energy-Based Evaluation Of Digital Halftones, John Weible

Electronic Theses & Dissertations

The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of the energy measure developed by Geist, Reynolds, and Suggs, when used as an evaluator of digitally half-toned images. The energy measure was found to be a valid, useful tool for the evaluation of binary digital halftone quality. Data resulting from the analysis and visual comparison of fifteen different halftones supports this conclusion. Using linear regression, the coefficient of correlation between the energy measure and visual quality ratings was -0.606 using all images, and -0.936 using average results for each halftone method.
