The problem identified at the project site was the limited awareness and use of Adverse Childhood Events (ACE) assessments in treating alcoholism. The practice focused question for this project was: Will educating staff on how ACE scores can improve treatment of alcoholism increase staff knowledge regarding the importance of assessing ACE scores to decrease relapse rates? Objectives: This study aimed to assess the risks associated with infant botulism in Oman by examining honey-feeding practices among infants and related sociodemographic and clinical factors. Methods: This cross-sectional study included Omani mothers with children under 5 years and were conveniently recruited from health centres. Mothers completed an infant feeding practices and beliefs survey between October 2023 and March 2024. Data were represented as frequencies and percentages and analysed via Chi-square test and logistic regression. Results: A total of 3,222 participants were included of which 58.8% were aged 26–35 years. The study found that 38.7% of children were fed honey …

We are concerned with the existence of solutions of (p, q)-Laplacian problems that include nonlinear perturbation terms in both the differential equations and the boundary. Using variational methods and critical point theory, we prove the existence of weak solutions for the nonlinear problem when the nonlinearities involved remain asymptotically below the infimum of the set of eigenvalues of the (p, q)-Laplacian problem with weights and a spectral parameter present in both the differential equation and the boundary. First Report Of The Chytrid Fungus, Batrachochytrium Dendrobatidis (Chytridiomycota: Rhizophydiales) From Spring Peeper, Pseudacris Crucifer (Anura: Hylidae), In Western Arkansas, C. T. Mcallister, I. F. Standish, E. M. Leis, M. R. Rodriguez, G. Burrows, H. W. Robison

Seven adult spring peepers, Pseudacris crucifer, were collected by hand during April 2024 from Polk County, Arkansas, and examined for the pathogens, Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd), Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans (Bsal), and frog virus 3-like Ranavirus (FV3). Swabs from three of seven (43%) individuals tested positive for Bd: all P. crucifer were negative for the other two pathogens. In addition, no hosts showed any obvious pathological signs of infection and, as such, may represent Bd vectors.  This is the first time P. crucifer from Arkansas has been reported with Bd and increases the number of amphibian species …

The court awarded a 100% rent abatement for May-November 2024 due to rent-impairing violations under MDL § 302-a, specifically a leaky roof in common areas. The landlord's claim of denied access was rejected as the violations were in areas under its control. Additionally, the court found the landlord engaged in harassment, directed HPD to place a Class C violation, ordered the landlord to cease harassing conduct, and imposed a $5,000 civil penalty. The tenant's escrowed funds were released.

For mixed farmers, livestock provide draught power, manure for fields, and buffer variations in crop productivity. Livestock also hold cultural significance. However, African livestock farmers are especially vulnerable to climate hazards, and attempt to reduce impacts in different ways, with varied outcomes. This mixed-methods action research study explored how flexible seating influences student empowerment, autonomy, decision making, and self-regulation in a Title I junior high school on California’s Central Coast. Grounded in constructivist learning theory (Piaget, 1952; Vygotsky, 1978) and self-determination theory (SDT; Deci & Ryan, 1985), the current study examined how providing students with meaningful choice over their learning environment can promote equity and engagement within underresourced contexts. Forty-six eighth-grade students participated in this study by completing Likert-scale and open-ended survey items assessing their experiences with flexible seating. Batteries have become one of the most important components of electronic devices. However, a large issue lies in overheating batteries, which decreases their performance and lifespan. Although cooling systems have been researched to combat this, the combination of phase change material polyethylene glycol (PEG) and fans has not been observed. INTRODUCTION: Current guidelines for the management of metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of unknown primary (SCCUP) recommend submission of suspicious primary sites for frozen section analysis (FSA). This study aims to investigate the diagnostic accuracy of FSA for identification of HPV-associated SCCUP.

METHODS: A retrospective cohort study of patients with biopsy-proven p16-positive SCCUP who underwent diagnostic operation at two tertiary care institutions was performed. Sensitivity, specificity, PPV, and NPV of diagnostic FSA were assessed.

Leaves of Cucumis callosus, traditionally employed in Ayurvedic medicine for the treatment of urinary disorders, were investigated in depth for their therapeutic potential against bacterially induced urinary tract infection (UTI) for the first time. The present work is the first to explore the antibacterial activity of C. callosus leaf fractions with an integrative in silico, in vitro, and in vivo approach. Through bioassay-guided fractionation, the chloroform fraction (F1) was identified as the most active, exhibiting potent activity against Uropathogenic Escherichia spp. species. The integration of 3D printing enables rapid fabrication of customized boluses, compensators, immobilization devices, and GRID collimators tailored to individual anatomical and clinical requirements. Comparative analysis reveals that additive manufacturing surpasses conventional machining in design flexibility, lead time reduction, and material efficiency, while offering significant cost savings and recyclability benefits. The significance of this study is to explore insights into the emotions experienced by Indonesian English teachers in Thailand, highlighting their emotional journeys and the emotion regulation strategies they use. Ten Indonesian English teachers from diverse elementary and secondary schools across Thailand voluntarily participated in this qualitative research. Through semi-structured interviews, the collected data were analyzed deductively, applying Richards' (2020) framework to examine teacher emotions and Gross' (1998) framework to analyze emotion regulation strategies. The findings reveal a wide range of emotions, including happiness, pride, anger, confusion, loneliness, and mixed emotions. This study utilized narrative inquiry to delve into some of the less-celebrated experiences of adoptees and their families. Drawing on focus group data from 17 adult participants with various connections to adoption, we co-constructed three composite narratives centering on darker aspects of the adoption experience: adoptees’ sense of loss, adoption as a secret or taboo, and the challenging implications of interracial adoption. By weaving together participants' authentic voices, the study provides rich insights into the multifaceted experiences of those touched by adoption. In view of the toxic effects of persistent organic pollutants (POPs), fast and effective assessment of their concentrations in marine mammals is important for understanding individual and population-level health impacts. This study developed an ultrasonic-based method that is less time-consuming, uses minimal solvent, and thus is more sustainable than the gold standard Soxhlet method for accurate analysis of organochlorine pesticides (OCs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and benzene hexachlorides (BHC) in false killer whale blubber. This article examines the Myanmar government’s illiberal peacebuilding practices in addressing the ongoing conflict with the Karen ethnic group. Using qualitative descriptive methods and a literature review, the author analyzes the dynamics of the relationship between the state and the Karen ethnic group, examining how security strategies, co-optation, and discriminatory policies are employed to suppress resistance. Using Comparative Historical Analysis as its method, this article will discuss the issue of this conflict from 2015 to 2021.
