Although efforts to address ecosystem services in decision making have advanced considerably in recent years, there remain challenges related to valuation. In particular, conventional economic approaches have been criticized for their inability to capture the collective nature of ecosystem services, for their emphasis on monetary metrics, and the difficulty of assessing the value of ecosystem services to future generations. We present a deliberative multicriteria evaluation (DMCE) method that combines the advantages of multicriteria decision analysis with a deliberation process that allows citizens and scientists to exchange knowledge and evaluate ecosystem services in a social context. Website owner identification aims to link websites to their real-world owners, which is crucial for credibility assessment and information provenance in information retrieval and vital for applications in cybersecurity, Internet governance, and digital regulation. Existing approaches for website owner identification primarily rely on querying infrastructure registration records or analyzing webpage content. However, these methods often fail due to incomplete or outdated registration records and sparse webpage content. Purpose:  To evaluate the effectiveness of a nurse-led, family caregiver–integrated delirium prevention protocol in improving bCAM screening compliance and caregiver confidence among hospitalized older adults in an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit.

Background; Delirium is a common but preventable complication in hospitalized older adults. Baseline assessments on the ACE Unit identified inconsistent bCAM screening and limited caregiver involvement. PURPOSE

The purpose of this project was to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing an ICU-specific pressure injury prevention bundle (SKIN SAFE) Sto reduce hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs) in an adult Surgical ICU.

BACKGROUND

HAPIs remain a major safety concern in critically ill patients. Standardized prevention bundles improve adherence and reduce incidence.

METHODOLOGY

This QI project in a 20-bed Surgical ICU used the PDSA framework to implement the eight-component SKINSAFE bundle. Strategies included staff education, champions, and weekly audits. Data were collected through EMR review, monthly PIP audits for HAPI incidence, and weekly compliance audits.

The purpose of this quality improvement project was to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of a mindfulness-based mobile application (Smiling Mind) to reduce perceived stress and emotional exhaustion among psychiatric nurses on an adolescent inpatient unit at a children’s hospital.

Psychiatric nurses experience high levels of stress and burnout, which threaten staff well-being, retention, and patient safety. Brief, app-based mindfulness practices may offer a low-burden strategy to support nurse wellness in high-acuity environments, but real-world uptake and impact are not well described.

Protoporphyrin IX (PPIX) is the main pigment in brown eggshells, and it is embedded in the shell gland of hens during the final stages of the egg-making process. This natural dye can be used as a substitute for organic sensitizers in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). One benefit of PPIX is that it is a natural resource and has a high absorption coefficient in the visible and near-infrared region (NIR). Political uncertainty has become an increasingly important feature of the global economy, with major geopolitical events often triggering rapid reactions in financial markets. This study examines how geopolitical shocks affect firm-level stock market performance in the United States. Using an event study framework, the analysis evaluates cumulative returns and stock return volatility for fourteen publicly traded firms across nine major geopolitical events between 2016 and 2022, including the Brexit referendum, the U.S.–China trade war, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Russia–Ukraine war.

Talking Through Our Difference: Testing The Moral Attitude Dynamic Model For Mitigating The Polarization Along Cultural War Issues, Mengyao Xu

This study examines the dynamic nature of polarization by applying the Moral Attitude Dynamic Model (MADM) to immigration discourse. Combining computational analysis of congressional debates with a randomized experiment (N = 1,402), it identifies context-specific moral foundations and evaluates MADM-informed moral reframing strategies. Results show that such messages reduce reactance and, under certain conditions, decrease social distance. Findings extend Contingency Theory by validating MADM as a dynamic, data-driven approach to polarization mitigation.

Most students lack awareness regarding the labor market outcomes for their chosen college majors. This study aims to answer what factors affect the career expectations of graduating students at Quezon City University and how these expectations align with the prevailing labor market situation. It employed descriptive, causal, and explanatory research using a sample of 108 respondents from fourth-year information technology students for the school year 2021 to 2022. Eight of the nine null hypotheses were rejected by employing multinomial logistic and linear regression. Purpose: To improve colorectal cancer (CRC) screening completion rates among eligible patients at a primary care clinic, located in Houston, Texas, by optimizing the medical assistant (MA) workflow and addressing systemic and patient-level barriers.

Background: The project site is a Federally Qualified Health Center that provides comprehensive and inclusive care to diverse and underserved populations, including those with low income, living with HIV/AIDS, experiencing homelessness, and uninsured. Despite the availability of non-invasive screening methods like the fecal immunochemical test (FIT), CRC screening rates remain suboptimal due to workflow inefficiencies, patient barriers, and inconsistent follow-up.

This pilot study explores the results of the Spring 2023, “Needs Survey for Community College Librarians” conducted by the Community and Junior College Libraries Section (CJCLS).  CJCLS is a section of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), a division of the American Library Association (ALA). This book chapter examines the growing challenge of cognitive decline among aging physicians and analyzes various approaches to addressing it. In 2024, twenty percent of working physicians were sixty-five or older, and evidence suggests that 12-14% of older clinicians have cognitive deficits that may affect job performance. The chapter evaluates two primary approaches to cognitive assessment: employer-initiated programs and programs operated by state medical boards. Employer "late career practitioner policies" (LCPP) that require older physicians to undergo testing are becoming increasingly popular among health care organizations.
