The Mission And Ministry Of The East Asian Pastoral Institute For The Local Churches In Asia And Oceania, Paul B. Steffen, Svd
The Mission And Ministry Of The East Asian Pastoral Institute For The Local Churches In Asia And Oceania, Paul B. Steffen, Svd
Asia Pacific Mission Studies
The EAPI is a typical international, interregional pastoral institute. It trains primarily multipliers in the ecclesial-pastoral ministry for the Asia-Pacific region. In 1986/87, 20 years after the first course, the institute had 14 resident members in the teaching staff. The novelty of the Pastoral Institute has been able to consolidate itself in this region and meet the existing needs. The EAPI is today a centre for the ecclesial-pastoral renewal of the Asian-Pacific local churches and it also contributes to the exchange of pastoral experiences with other local churches.

Pastoral Ministry At The Intersections Of Life For A Synodal Church In Asia, Charles Bertille
Pastoral Ministry At The Intersections Of Life For A Synodal Church In Asia, Charles Bertille
Asia Pacific Mission Studies
This paper is condensed from the Keynote Address presented by the author at EAPI's 60th Anniversary. Pastoral ministry in Asia unfolds amid pluralism, migration, inequality, and shifting identities, requiring a vision beyond sacramental maintenance toward lived experience and communal struggle. Rooted in Vatican II, Asian theology, and the Synod on Synodality, ministry is participatory, dialogical, and mission-oriented. Synodality calls for conversion of spirit and structure: humility, discernment, and trust. Leadership must be missionary, interculturally competent, and committed to the poor and creation. Formation institutes such as EAPI and NIFSA serve as laboratories for synodal practice, fostering prophetic leadership. Ultimately, synodality …

Peeling The Onion: A Study Of Audience Reactions To Anti-Classism Satire, Charisse L’Pree Corsbie-Massay, Martina Santia, Luvell Anderson
Department of Political Science and Law Faculty Scholarship and Creative Works
The topics of socioeconomic status, class, and income inequality are integral to human rights. However, media misrepresentation of socioeconomic class and the pervasive national narrative of social mobility inhibit audiences’ ability to understand and mobilize around these issues. Satire can disrupt this cycle by effectively exposing the inconsistencies of class inequality and the flaws of the “American Dream.” Thus, we examine the potential of satire to challenge prevailing attitudes toward class inequality and bolster anti-classism confidence through an online study featuring written satirical articles from The Onion categorized based on style (aggressive vs. benign) and target (individual vs. institutional). Overall, …

Music Therapists' Perceptions On The Use Of Chinese Five-Element Music For Patients With Depression In Shandong Province, China., Zhu Jiaqi
Student Works (2020-2029)
Depression is a common and serious mental health issue that significantly impacts an individual's quality of life and daily functioning. Music therapy, as a low-risk, non-pharmacological intervention, can regulate emotions and psychological states. This study is based on the Chinese Five-Elements theory, exploring the core concepts of Five-Elements music therapy, the challenges faced by music therapists in clinical applications, and its future development potential. This study recruited practitioners who hold registered music therapist qualifications, are familiar with the Five Elements music therapy, and have experience in treating depression and related comorbidities (such as anxiety and insomnia) as participants through purposive …

Assessing The Influence Of Audit Committee Characteristics On The Effectiveness Of Risk Management Practices In Public Statutory Corporations In Tanzania, Gerald J. Soi, Siasa Issa Mzenzi, Said Suluo
Business Management Review
This study was conducted to examine the influence of audit committee characteristics on the effectiveness of risk management in Public Statutory Corporations (PSCs) in Tanzania, and the moderating effect of the size of an entity on this relationship. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data, which was completed by 424 chief internal auditors and directors of finance from PSCs across various Tanzanian regions, and analysed using SmartPLS (PLS-SEM) version 4.0. The findings indicate that the expertise of the audit committee and the frequency of meetings with a substantive risk agenda positively influence risk management effectiveness in PSCs. Conversely, the …

The Nexus Between Entrepreneurial Ingenuity Antecedents And Market Penetration Of Tanzanian Formal Retail Businessesmarket Penetration: Entrepreneurial Ingenuity: Formal Retail Business, Salum Makangila, Omari Khalifa Mbura
Business Management Review
The entrepreneurial ingenuity is a fundamental strategy employed by business proprietors and operators to navigate market penetration challenges when formal and informal retail businesses operate simultaneously in the same commercial environments. Guided by positivism research philosophy and cross-sectional design, quantitative data were collected from randomly selected sample size of 520 business proprietors and operators through structured questionnaire. The study hypothesized and tested the relationship between entrepreneurial ingenuity antecedents and market penetration of Tanzanian formal retail businesses using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The empirical results reveals that entrepreneurial ingenuity antecedents namely creative, innovative and open-minded behaviour positively and significantly influences market …

Making Waves REU
The disruption of homeostasis in the gut microbiome is linked to various host immune and metabolic imbalances. Therefore, there is a need to elucidate the roles of microbes in maintaining homeostasis in the gut microbiome.
Fungi are often overlooked components of gut flora. Here, we investigate in vitro interactions between core microbiota genera from the C. robusta gut: Candida (a yeast), Pseudoalteromonas (bacteria) and Vibrio (bacteria).

Origin-Specific Coordinate Watermarking For Geolocation Data Leak Attribution, Alex Berke, Balazs Engedy, Enrico Bacis, Umar Syed
Defensive Publications Series
A method is described for tracing geolocation data leaks by watermarking coordinates provided by a geolocation application programming interface. The method can involve generating a watermark, for example, by applying a cryptographic hash function to inputs such as the requesting origin's domain and the most significant digits of a user's latitude and longitude. This hash may then be embedded into the less significant decimal places of the coordinates, which can result in a small alteration to the location data before it is provided to the origin. A benefit of this technique is to facilitate the attribution of leaked data. By …
Causal Echo Binding For Explainable Ai, Dennis Lanov
Causal Echo Binding For Explainable Ai, Dennis Lanov
Defensive Publications Series
Causal Echo Binding, as proposed herein, is a next-generation explainable AI technique that traces "echoes" of causal influence backward through a model’s decision process, binding them to evolving, human-understandable concepts and validating each link with built-in counterfactual tests. Unlike static feature attribution methods, the technique produces a verifiable, time-aware narrative of why and when an AI system acted, enabling deeper trust and auditability. For a network equipment provider, this capability can enhance AI-driven networking, security, and observability products by providing transparent, regulator-ready explanations for automated decisions - from pinpointing the root cause of a network change to justifying …

Deepblue Protocol: A Decentralized Peer-To-Peer (P2p) Ad-Hoc Mesh For Global Ais Persistence, Dev Mohanty
Defensive Publications Series
The DeepBlue Protocol specifies a decentralized, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) maritime data relay architecture designed to bridge the visibility gap between high-seas regions and terrestrial monitoring stations. The system transforms a federated fleet of vessels into an opportunistic Store-Carry-Forward (SCF) substrate. Data persistence is achieved through a stateless G-TDMA scheduling algorithm and a probabilistic Bloom Filter synchronization handshake, which together ensure that data collected in remote waters is autonomously propagated through the mesh until it can be successfully offloaded to a Coastal Gateway (Sink Node).
The Phyrfly Opus: A Unified Standard For Spectrally Isolated Coordination, Neural Hierarchies, And Distributed Proprioception, Steven Kirkland
The Phyrfly Opus: A Unified Standard For Spectrally Isolated Coordination, Neural Hierarchies, And Distributed Proprioception, Steven Kirkland
Defensive Publications Series
This monograph establishes 259 prior art claims for a decentralized, connectionless timing and positioning architecture (TARDIS). It formalizes the PHYRFLY nomenclature to distinguish low-level, hardware-scheduled Physical-Layer synchronization primitives from higher-level application orchestration.
The core novelty centers on a Spectral Isolation Model, which maps transport-agnostic architecture to biological firefly wavelength differentiation; this enables swarm-level isolation through physics (e.g., 802.11 vs. 802.15.4) rather than protocol-layer logic, ensuring that independent swarms occupying the same physical space are "blind" to one another at the RF front-end.
Key technical advancements established as prior art include:

This Land Is Our Land: Creating Abortion Safe-Havens In Federal Enclaves Using The Nondelegation Doctrine, Callie Fucarino
American University Journal of Gender, Social Policy & the Law
In a post-Dobbs world, the legal status of abortion care is in the hands of the states. Healthcare providers and people seeking abortion care must either take legal risks or betray their morals and oath to care for their patients to follow the law in certain restrictive states. What remains in flux is the status of abortion rights on federal lands. There is currently no federal law that criminalizes abortion, but many states prohibit it. Within some states that have restricted abortion, there lie federal enclaves—certain specified land that the United States government owns, where federal law controls. At first …
