Severe neurological complications can occur in approximately 1% of spine surgery patients, often resulting from spinal cord or nerve injury due to compression, traction, or ischemia. Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) is utilized during spine surgeries to rapidly detect potential neural compromise and prevent permanent neurological damage. Optimal anesthetic management during IONM presents a challenge, as anesthetic agents can significantly influence the reliability and quality of neuromonitoring signals. Total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) is generally preferred to minimize interference with evoked potentials.

Carbon dioxide is a major contributor to global climate change, and developing efficient electrocatalysts for its reduction to useful products remains an important challenge in renewable energy and sustainable chemistry. Rhenium(I) tricarbonyl complexes have been widely studied for selective CO₂-to-CO conversion, and recent efforts have focused on understanding how ligand structure and proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) processes govern catalytic activity. Hispanic/Latino individuals in the U.S. face sleep health disparities, reporting higher rates of short sleep duration and fragmented sleep compared to non-Hispanic white individuals. While Hispanic/Latino immigrants initially report better sleep health than their U.S.-born counterparts, prolonged residence in the U.S. is associated with worsening sleep, possibly due to acculturative stress. Ethnic identity and familism are cultural factors that have been correlated with positive health outcomes, even mitigating the adverse effects of acculturative stress and discrimination. As some of the oldest structures in the Milky Way Galaxy, the stars that make up clusters are some of the oldest witnesses to the formation of our Galaxy, and in some cases, the Universe itself. Additionally, clusters are an excellent source of X-ray information, and the positions of X-ray sources tend to correlate with the positions of globular clusters. This research provides a DNA reference library for the freshwater fish species of Western Ecuador, emphasizing endemic species of the Guayas River Basin and southwestern, lowland areas. Western Ecuador is currently grappling with severe overexploitation of its endemic freshwater fishes across many drainage basins, compounded by habitat destruction, pollution from commercial and agricultural activities, and the looming threat of climate change, notably in the form of coastal incursion events. Methods for rapid-surveying biodiversity at community levels is urgently needed. This work concerns generators for the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves over a noetherian scheme X of prime characteristic. The main result is that when the Frobenius map on X is finite, for any compact generator G of D(X) the Frobenius pushforward F^e_*G generates the bounded derived category whenever p^e is larger than the codepth of X, an invariant that is a measure of the singularity of X. In this article I elaborate on the approach to relational quantum mechanics suggested by Adlam and Rovelli (2023). I suggest that this approach fills an important gap in the spectrum of relational approaches, because it posits that the relational aspects of quantum mechanics are both inherent and dynamical. I compare this approach to Orthodox RQM, arguing that it has a number of advantages, and I show how some possible objections can be resolved.

Benthic aquatic macroinvertebrates are some of the most highly used organisms for biomonitoring and assessing stream health. However, biomonitoring is often done in one season, potentially missing important taxa and inaccurately reflecting the community as well as stream health. BACKGROUND: Hydromethylthionine mesylate (HMTM) targets tau pathology and has tau-independent symptomatic activity.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of HMTM in participants with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and mild to moderate dementia due to Alzheimer's disease (AD).

SETTING: 82 centres in Canada, European Union, United Kingdom and United States of America.

PARTICIPANTS: A total of 598 amyloid β-PET positive participants were included; 44% (263) met clinical criteria for MCI due to Alzheimer's disease and 56% (335) were diagnosed with mild to moderate dementia due to AD.

This Article evaluates the feasibility of implementing consumer contracts—including standard-form agreements—as smart contracts and assesses their adaptability through the lens of consumer protection law.

Specifically, it examines whether the traditional consumer contract framework can be meaningfully implemented in the form of smart contracts. It further considers whether such implementation necessitates adaptations—both in the technological architecture of the contracts themselves and in the underlying legal framework. By addressing these questions, the Article aims to contribute to a more coherent and forward-looking approach to regulating automated, code-based contracting in consumer markets.

Surface analysis is the study of the atoms at surfaces and their connectivity, including their relative depth distribution, concentration, chemical state, and crystallinity. These characteristics govern many important material properties. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is one of the most widely used surface analysis techniques. Proper interpretation of XPS spectra including the appropriate use of backgrounds, peak shapes, peak positions, and charge compensation, with appropriate constraints on fitting parameters provide valuable information about elemental composition, concentration, depth distribution, and chemical speciation of surface atoms. Nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) is an environmental air pollutant and a potent oxidant. Epidemiological studies have revealed a close association between chronic cough and long-term inhalation exposure to NO₂. ATP can be released from airway/lung epithelial cells upon inhalation exposure to oxidants, and convincing evidence established in recent clinical studies indicated that extracellular ATP in the respiratory tract plays an important role in the pathogenesis of refractory chronic cough. The court affirmed the lower court's decision to grant the landlord's cross-motion to dismiss the proceeding, finding DHCR's determination was rational and not arbitrary or capricious.
