A landlord commenced a GCEL holdover proceeding, alleging the tenant refused to renew the lease with reasonable changes, including rent increases. The court dismissed the petition based on the tenant's pre-answer motion, finding the landlord lacked capacity to sue due to its failure to comply with LLC Law § 206 publication requirements. Although the landlord claimed to be curing the defect, it had not fully done so and made a material error by trying to comply through the Attorney General's Office instead of the Department of State. The proceeding was dismissed without prejudice.

The Bankruptcy Judge And The Generalist Tradition, Alexander Gouzoules

The prevailing academic consensus is that bankruptcy judges are specialists presiding over specialized courts. This Article contends that this description is incomplete and, in some respects, inaccurate. Drawing on scholarly models of judicial specialization and historical surveys of the field, this Article contends that bankruptcy judges reflect a hybrid design choice: procedural specialization combined with substantive generalism. This model delivers many of the observed benefits of judicial specialization (including efficiency and technical competence) while preserving the cross-pollination of ideas and other benefits associated with the generalist tradition of American judging.

Vision begins when photoreceptors convert fluctuations in light intensity into temporal patterns of glutamate release that drive the retinal network. The input-output relation at this first stage has not been studied in vivo so it is not known how it operates across a photoreceptor population. Using glutamate imaging in zebrafish, we find that individual type 1 cones (PR1; ancestral red cones), which dominate daylight vision in non-avian vertebrates, encode visual stimuli with high reliability and time-precision but routinely vary in sensitivity to luminance, contrast and frequency across the population. The present disclosure relates to distributed container orchestration and, more particularly, to a First-In-First-Out (FIFO) on-demand queuing container lifecycle orchestration system for executing heavy workloads. The disclosed system receives on-demand workload requests and queues the requests based on submission time for processing by a distributed worker pool. Each worker node is restricted to executing a single workload at a time and acquires execution locks to prevent concurrent container execution conflicts. Upon selection, a worker node dynamically creates a container to execute the workload, records execution results and operational logs, and destroys the container upon completion to release computational resources. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), a genetically distinct strain of S. aureus, poses a significant health problem in humans and animals. MRSA is responsible for various difficult-to-treat illnesses in humans and animals. The loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) experiment was performed using four unique primers developed for six distinct mecA and femA gene sequences. The LAMP test was completed in 45 minutes at 62.5°C and visualized by gel electrophoresis. Moreover, the LAMP test has better sensitivity than conventional PCR, detecting genomic DNA at 64.8 pg/μL, which is hundreds of times more sensitive than conventional PCR.  The LAMP test is an …

Direct pump modulation is one feature of semiconductor lasers that sets them apart from other types of lasers. Another degree of flexibility is the injection current disruption. Consequently, instabilities are caused by the disruption of the injection current in semiconductor lasers, and the modulation of the injection current does in fact show instabilities and chaotic behaviors. This research investigates a comparative study between conventional and nanoscale semiconductor lasers. Defective Viral Genomes (DVGs), which are viral genomes that are defective in some way, are naturally occurring byproducts of viral replication in numerous RNA viruses, notably Orthomyxoviridae (Influenza virus), Filoviridae (Ebola and dengue), and Paramyxoviridae (Respiratory Syncytial). They have three well-defined functions: interference with regular virus replication, immunostimulation, and virus persistence. DVGs are defective viral genomes that can hijack the replication cycle of wild-type viruses, leading to partial or complete suppression of viral populations. The Due Process Clause guarantees criminal defendants an impartial adjudicator, yet post-conviction proceedings often escape meaningful judicial recusal. In Pennsylvania, the same judge who presided over a criminal trial commonly adjudicates that defendant’s post-conviction review, even when prior rulings are challenged. This Article argues that such self-review creates an objectively intolerable risk of bias, undermining due process and public confidence in the judiciary. Drawing on Supreme Court precedent and psychological research on confirmation bias, the Article demonstrates that existing recusal standards fail to address structural risks in post-conviction adjudication. This study provides a systematic review of optic neuritis and neuroretinitis associated with cat scratch disease (CSD) caused by Bartonella henselae. CSD, commonly transmitted through cat scratches or bites, can lead to visual complications, particularly in children, who are more frequently exposed to cats. A comprehensive literature search identified 10 relevant studies from an initial pool of 521 articles. Typical CSD manifests with regional lymphadenopathy, but severe complications like hepatosplenomegaly and encephalitis can occur, especially in younger patients. Atypical presentations, such as neuroretinitis, often begin as optic neuritis with papillary edema, progressing to a macular star pattern. Pediatric patients may …

Introduction: Acute non-traumatic tetraplegia is an infrequent presentation in the pediatric emergency department, with thiamine metabolism dysfunction syndrome (TMDS) representing an even rarer cause. This article aims to report a case of acute and transient non-traumatic tetraplegia secondary to TMDS. Case Report: A previously healthy 1-year-and-3-month-old girl, with expected neurodevelopment was admitted with an acute onset of flaccid paraplegia, progressing to spastic tetraplegia. Initial laboratory tests were unremarkable. Cranial magnetic resonance imaging revealed changes in the basal ganglia, manifested as bilateral and symmetrical oval hypodensities with increased areas of permeation cavitation.
