BACKGROUND: Over half of all fatal complications occur during primary laparoscopic entry. In our practice, we developed a novel modification of closed LUQ entry at Palmer's point and designated it "E-Z" entry.

AIMS: To evaluate the risks and safety of left subcostal entry, a technique we have designated 'E-Z' entry at our institution.

SETTINGS AND DESIGN: A retrospective chart review was conducted at a tertiary care medical centre of patients who underwent laparoscopic procedures by a single surgeon known to perform left subcostal entry for the last 10 years, using the E-Z entry technique.

Adolescence is an important period of rapid change in biological, psychosocial and cognitive growth and development marked by significant increases in nutrition and energy needs. The study aimed to explore perceived barriers and needs regarding dietary macronutrient intake in adolescent girls in Barrang Lompo Island in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. The qualitative design drew on constructs from social cognitive theory. The sample consisted of 18 adolescent girls and their mothers from grades 8 to 11 whose dietary macronutrient intake was less than the recommended dietary allowance. This research is a literature study research, the primary data source of this research is a mathematics textbook published by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture and Marshall Cavendish, the collection techniques used are observation and documentation, the analysis in this study uses quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The Aim of this research is to find out the effect of teacher leadership, work motivation, and teacher’s self efficacy either individually or simultaneously on teacher performance. Research was conducted in state junior high school in East Bekasi with total sample of 100 persons. Data were obtained using expost factor method and analyzed using multiple regression. There is significance effect of teacher leadership on teacher performance, and work motivation on teacher performance, teacher self efficacy has no significance effect on teacher performance, and there is significance effect of teacher leadership, work motivation, and teacher self efficacy simultanously on teacher performance

In laser-based manufacturing, processing setup customization is one of the popular approaches used to enhance diversity in material processing using a single laser. In this study, we propose setup design modification of an ultrafast laser system to demonstrate both Tin Oxide (SnO2) nanoparticle synthesis from bulk metal, and post printing of said nanoparticles using Laser Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT) method. Using the Pulse Laser Ablation in Liquid (PLA-L) method, nanoparticles were synthesized from a bulk tin metal cube submerged in distilled water. Such nanoparticles dispersed in water can form colloidal ink that can be used for different printed electronics applications. …

High-harmonic generation (HHG) in solids has been touted as a way to probe ultrafast dynamics and crystal symmetries in condensed matter systems. Here, we investigate the polarization properties of high-order harmonics generated in monolayer MoS2, as a function of crystal orientation relative to the mid-infrared laser field polarization. At several different laser wavelengths we experimentally observe a prominent angular shift of the parallel-polarized odd harmonics for energies above approximately 3.5 eV, and our calculations indicate that this shift originates in subtle differences in the recombination dipole strengths involving multiple conduction bands. An image analysis technique for reconstruction of the complex 3D pore structure within bulk grain from 2D section images was presented. The technique relies on aligning successive 2D images of cut-sections obtained from colored-wax solidified soybean grain beds, which were then subjected to image processing using ImageJ software developed by the National Institute of Health (NIH, Bethesda, Md.) for the reconstruction and visualization of different airflow paths within the bulk grain. Piezoresistive microcantilever sensor is widely used in sensing applications including liquid and gas flow detection. Microcantilevers can function as an embedded system if they are coated with polymers or nanomaterials to improve sensing performance. In this paper, we investigated the performance of piezoresistive microcantilevers (PMC) with and without additional coating. We studied the sensitivity of the PMC sensor after coating it with a three-dimensional porous hydrogel and piezoresistive graphene oxide layer. Hydrogel embedded piezoresistive microcantilever (EPM) showed better results than PMC during solvent sensing application. The resistance change for hydrogel embedded PMC was higher compared to bare PMC by 430% …
