Impact Of Collodion Thickness On Fission Track Generation Within Lexan Employed For Nuclear Forensic Analyses, Ryan K. Chapman, Zachary P. Meisel, Abigail A. Bickley

We report results from a computational study of fission track damage within a Lexan substrate caused by ²³⁵U suspended within a collodion film of varied thickness. MCNP6.3 was used to model energy deposition and displacements per atom within a Lexan film coated by a film of collodion, located within the air-filled 6 inch dry tube of a TRIGA reactor. The collodion layer was varied between 20 and 100 μm thickness, resulting in an 8.8% difference in energy deposition and 12% difference in displacements-per-atom within the Lexan substrate. Background: Young women who inject drugs (YWID) face heightened risks for HIV, hepatitis C, and overdose that are shaped by the relational contexts in which they inject. Injection partnerships, defined as dyadic relationships between people who inject together, remain understudied beyond male–female intimate pairs. Methods: We conducted 26 semi-structured interviews with YWID (ages 18–35) in rural Appalachian Ohio to explore dynamics within three partnerships types: dual partnerships with male intimate partners, family partnerships, and friend partnerships, with attention to female peer partnerships as a distinct subset. Building and civil engineering projects face numerous challenges during their lifespans. A study was conducted to investigate the use of Agile and hybrid methodologies for improving project performance. The contingency theory was applied to determine the impact of Agile on cost, schedule, quality, and stakeholder engagement. It also explored obstacles and factors in successful implementation. The study used qualitative research design and interviewed 15 construction project professionals from different sectors. The interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis to extract information about Agile and hybrid methodologies. The major findings showed that these methodologies were not used in their pure form. INTRODUCTION:Walking the Talk for Dementia (WTD) convenes people from every continent and multiple perspectives, including people with lived experience, in a 40- km walk followed by a 2-day symposium. The aim is collective reflective dialogue about dementia stigma without the burden of professional hierarchies.

METHODS: Qualitative reflections during and immediately following the walk were analyzed using content analysis to identify common themes.

RESULTS: Three themes demonstrate an evolution of perspectives about dementia and stigma: “meeting the person not the label”, “a community in solidarity”, and “I wasn’t treated like I was broken, and I wasn’t broken.”

This quantitative study sought to determine whether emotionally intelligent behaviors exhibited by C-suite executives in medium-sized US healthcare businesses were linked to increased employee motivation and decreased retention related outcomes rates. This article critically examines the Supreme Court of India’s use of life imprisonment without the possibility of remission or parole (LWORP) as a sentencing alternative to the death penalty. While the Constitution Bench in V Sriharan vs Union of India (2015) upheld the constitutionality of such sentences, it did not articulate principled standards governing their imposition. This article argues that the absence of such standards has produced a vacuum in LWORP sentencing. To substantiate this claim, we analyse fifty-three Supreme Court judgments delivered between 2016 and 2024 in which death sentences were commuted to LWORP. Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) experience disproportionately low employment rates despite expressing a strong desire for community integrated employment. This study examined whether discrepancies exist between the current work capacity of adolescents and young adults with IDDs and the physical exertion demands of their desired careers, and explored the role of physical therapy (PT) in addressing these gaps. Forty-five participants (ages 14–24) in the Nebraska EmployABILITY project identified their top career choice. PT‑assessed current work capacity was compared to the physical exertion requirements of the selected job using a standardized exertion scale. Differences were analyzed using the Wilcoxon …

Extracurricular activities are viewed as important contexts for supporting adolescent wellbeing and functioning. Yet, less is known about how participation relates to wellbeing across adolescence, particularly among youth at heightened risk for social and emotional difficulties, such as those with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Guided by a Positive Youth Development framework, this study examined associations between overall and domain-specific extracurricular participation and psychosocial outcomes in a racially diverse sample of 3,578 adolescents (ages 15–18; M = 15.62), including 588 with ADHD, from the Future of Families and Child Wellbeing Study. In this manuscript, I present essays that examine the role of innovation in financial markets. The first essay introduces a classification framework for cryptoassets. Existing approaches either apply overly broad economic-function criteria or rely on narrow legal definitions, neither of which adequately captures the diversity of digital assets. This essay proposes a two-track framework that integrates both functional roles and technical structure. Some of my recent poems. They are melancholy, and many play on ideas about what is light and darkness and how they manifest themselves. Most of these poems are written based on my thoughts about some of life’s challenges and how they make me feel. “The days” is an example of this. Others, particularly “Lights” and “Dark”, are more idealogical in nature and I use them to explore what I think are prevailing cultural assumptions.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the health insurance literacy skills of graduate college students and undergraduate college students.

Methods: A cross-sectional research design incorporated a 20-item questionnaire to examine college students’ knowledge of common health insurance terms and definitions, as well as their perceived understanding of health insurance. Descriptive analyses were conducted of participant demographics, health insurance literacy scores were summarized, and common health insurance policies were tested through a readability checker.
