Cancer is a large group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells, which can invade any organ or tissue. According to WHO (2025), cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for nearly 10 million deaths in 2020, or approximately one in six deaths. The use of green-synthesized nanoparticles offers a promising route toward eco-friendly and biocompatible alternatives in biomedical research. This study aimed to assess the cytotoxicity of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) biosynthesized from Ageratina riparia extract. Given the growing interest in plant-mediated nanoparticle synthesis for safe therapeutic applications, evaluating their biological effects is crucial. The extract was obtained through maceration of 60 g of powdered leaves, and green synthesis was conducted using silver nitrate solutions (1 mM, 3 mM, 5 mM). This study investigated the relationship between music listening before bed and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index-based (PSQI) sleep quality. Despite legal frameworks like the Kasambahay Law, the dynamic and evolving relationship between their perceived social role and personal agency remains an underexplored area. This phenomenological study delves into the lived experiences of kasambahays in the Laguna province to understand how they perceive their social position, exercise agency, and navigate the intricate interaction between these dimensions. This study examined Filipino parentification among eldest children enrolled as senior high school students at De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, focusing on its impact on friendships. Grounded in Role Theory, it explored how premature parental responsibilities shape social interactions using a qualitative phenomenological approach with semi-structured interviews. Findings indicate that eldest children often assume caregiving, emotional support, and decision-making roles, fostering maturity and resilience, but also leading to trust issues, emotional distancing, and difficulties in maintaining friendships. The Philippine science education faces challenges, including low student achievement. This study explored Alchemi, a novel immersive serious game (in the visual novel format), designed to enhance learning in chemistry laboratories. Alchemi integrates Game-Based Learning (GBL) and Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) principles. Six chemistry instructors evaluated Alchemi's effectiveness using the MEEGA+ Game Quality Scale, assessing player experience and usability. Results showed highly positive instructor perceptions of Alchemi's engagement (high median scores for focused attention, challenge, social interaction, confidence, perceived learning), fun (median 4.25), relevance (median 4.75), and satisfaction (median 4.5). Amicus curiae brief submitted by immigration law scholars, including Cardozo School of Law Professor Lindsay Nash, in Buenrostro-Mendez v. Bondi and Covarrubias v. Vergara before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. The brief supports rehearing en banc and argues that 8 U.S.C. § 1225(b)(2)(A) does not authorize mandatory, no-bond detention of noncitizens apprehended within the interior of the United States. Drawing on statutory text, legislative history, and the historical development of immigration detention, the amici contend that such detention authority has historically been limited to individuals seeking admission at the border.

Practice Problem: The practice problem for the primary care facility is the inconsistent completion of medication reconciliation (MR) by primary care providers (PCPs), despite attempts by some providers to compare the clinic medication list with the external records and update the electronic health records (EHR). Purpose: Investigators delivered an asynchronous parent education for improving early literacy skills of typically developing preschoolers. The home-based shared-book reading program, PEEL, consisted of strategies modeled via videos and sent as text messages.

Method: Twenty parent-child dyads were randomly assigned to one of two 8-week programs targeting evidence-based early literacy strategies. One parent group was taught strategies to support print-related knowledge for learning to read, and the other learned skills to promote vocabulary and story knowledge underlying comprehension.

This dataset supports the production, characterization, and biological validation of a novel recombinant hagfish intermediate filament (rHIF) protein functionalized with spider silk motifs (rHIF-alpha-GRGGL). The data demonstrates a scalable bioprocess resulting in a 7.76 g/L yield, high structural alpha-helicity (77.2%), and significant support for N2a cells.

This paper extends the CES model of monopolistic competition to the case where varieties are both horizontally and vertically differentiated. A distinctive feature of our model is the presence of a network externality, which operates through the number of varieties available at each quality level. Depending on the quality gap, there are corner equilibria in which consumers purchase only high-quality or low-quality varieties, or an interior equilibrium in which consumers are split between the two qualities. Unlike the CES model of monopolistic competition, the equilibrium is never efficient and the market may even select the outcome with the lowest surplus.

The broadly conserved ParB protein performs crucial functions in bacterial chromosome segregation and replication regulation. The cellular function of ParB requires it to dimerize, recognize parS DNA sequences, clamp on DNA, then slide to adjacent sequences through nonspecific DNA binding. How ParB coordinates nonspecific DNA binding and sliding remains elusive. Here, we combine multiple in vitro biophysical and computational tools and in vivo approaches to address this question. We found that five conserved lysine residues in the C-terminal domain (CTD) of ParB play distinct roles. The court found that Bivens credibly established both an emotional and financial commitment with the former tenant for over 14 years and co-residency for the statutory period.
