Introduction – Artificial intelligence (AI) and algorithmic systems influence health workers’ access, interpretation, and action on clinical and public health information, positioning them as intermediaries between algorithmically mediated outputs and patients, communities, and decision makers. This study examines how AI and algorithmic literacy are conceptualized and measured among health workers through a digital health literacy (DHL) lens. Methods – Using Arksey and O’Malley’s scoping review framework, we searched Ovid MEDLINE, Ovid Embase, Scopus, IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library, Europe PMC, and arXiv for English language sources published between January 2020 and May 2025. Martin Tawney’s Guide to the Middle of Nowhere is a portion of a novel that parodies Akira Kurosawa’s 1961 samurai film Yojimbo. Yojimbo is a trickster narrative which drew influence from the noir genre and went on to influence other Westerns. This project turns that story into one about a travel writer who visits a town with two feuding hotels. The travel writer escalates the feud to create the story he wants to tell, but he loses control over it. The project explores what a trickster narrative looks like when the trickster cannot maintain their power over the story.

Bioaerosols released during wildland and prescribed fires may influence ecosystems, air quality, and microbial dispersal, yet their transport and deposition remain poorly understood. This study combined infrared uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) observations of a prescribed burn with the coupled fire–atmosphere model WRF-SFIRE and a Lagrangian particle model in order to evaluate how uncertainties in simulated fire behavior affect predicted bioaerosol (bacterial cell) transport and deposition. A reconstruction of the observed spatiotemporal evolution of the fire was derived from thermal UAS measurements acquired during the burn and incorporated into a WRF-SFIRE simulation, in which the modeled fire spread was constrained to …

Background —Hormonal contraceptives (HCs) are widely used among reproductive-age women, yet concerns about weight gain remain common and are frequently cited as a reason for dissatisfaction or discontinuation. Dissatisfaction and discontinuation of HCs can lead to unintended pregnancy—a serious health concern in the United States. Existing research has largely focused on objectively measured weight change as a secondary outcome rather than on perceptions of weight-related side effects, and no validated tool currently assesses these perceptions. Additionally, studies have historically failed to include women with overweight and obesity. Chytrid fungi, Bd (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis) and Bsal (Batrachochytrium salamandivorans), are one of the largest threats to amphibian populations worldwide. Research has shown that the amphibian's skin microbiome can inhibit Bd/Bsal infection, but that microbial composition can vary drastically with host and environmental factors. In addition, habitat-wide mitigation methods that capitalize on the thermal mismatch between Bd/Bsal and their hosts (e.g., warming the host or environment) have been proposed to combat infection. We have performed a detailed analysis of the atmospheric properties of two late-T type brown dwarfs, 2MASSI J0415195-093506 and 2MASS J05591914-140448. For each brown dwarfs, we combined the spectra of each brown dwarf from the ground at 1-2.5 µm, AKARI at 2.5-5 µm, and from the Spitzer Space Telescope at 5-15 µm. For this project, we are particularly interested in probing the extent of vertical mixing. For this analysis, we used the Planetary Intensity Code for Atmospheric Scattering (PICASO), which is a code that creates a radiative transfer model for a given set of atmospheric parameters. Indigenous Kichwa communities in Ecuador’s Otavalo region have long participated in local and transnational markets, historically as mindalaes, specialized traders of the northern Andes. Yet in recent years, international development-oriented NGOs have framed entrepreneurship education as newly necessary for economic development. These approaches emphasize individualized narratives of vision, self-reliance, and growth, often characterizing Indigenous peoples as lacking entrepreneurial skills or the appropriate mindset. This qualitative case study investigates the experiences and practices of successful independent English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers in Brazil who operate outside traditional schools and private language institutes. Rather than providing a broad descriptive profile, this study offers an in-depth examination of a small group of teachers. Through the lens of a protracted battle over a seat on the North Carolina Supreme Court in 2024, this Article considers the problem of election contest gamesmanship: the manipulation of the procedures states use to resolve post-election disputes in an effort to subvert the democratic results of an election. This Article illustrates how election contest gamesmanship problematizes basic assumptions of federal voting rights doctrines, exploiting the traditional deference afforded to the operation of state election administration procedures to evade federal judicial scrutiny and advance strictly partisan ends. Trump v. CASA resolved a decade-old scholarly debate about whether federal courts can grant "universal" injunctions in constitutional cases—injunctions prohibiting the executive from enforcing the challenged law against all persons subject to the law, beyond the plaintiffs to the action. A 6-3 Court said federal courts could issue remedies necessary to accord "complete relief to the plaintiffs," without the power to protect non-parties.

In ruling that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment does not protect a right to an abortion, the Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization relied on reasoning that casts serious doubt on the continued validity of other unenumerated constitutional rights. According to Dobbs, unenumerated rights cannot be recognized unless they are deeply rooted in this Nation's history and traditions, and have long enjoyed legal protection. Migrating to a new LSP, changes in proctoring vendors, and other high‑impact changes are frequent within a department that includes library, testing, and academic support services. We faced many challenges while we figured out what worked (and what did not) and celebrated many wins along the way. Few periods of Canadian history have been as momentous or terrible as the Great Depression. The Dominion and provincial governments’ inability to combat financial and environmental catastrophe led many Canadians to openly question the appropriateness of their constitutional framework. As legal historians have since documented, many leading jurists of the time believed that a strong central government could, through the institution of national programs, contain the Great Depression; in the eyes of these 1930s jurists, the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council—then Canada’s apex court—had sapped the federal government of its powers by misinterpreting the British North America Act, 1867 …

Maryland’s Nursing Workforce Study identified critical shortages in registered nurses and nurse educators, emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable, equity-focused strategies to strengthen the workforce and academic pipeline (Global Data, 2022; Maryland Hospital Association, 2022; National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice, 2020). To address these challenges, XXX was expanded as a statewide platform that advocates for healthier work environments through actionable, evidence-based resources. A team of academic content experts, GIS specialists, and marketers collaborated to design and implement new site features. Background: Nurses working in the home health setting often work alone in isolated and uncontrolled environments, which increases their risk of experiencing violence or unsafe situations. Recent home health nurse experiences suggest that the severity of safety events has increased in violence and in some cases, led to death. In a recent survey by National Nurses United (2023), eight out of ten nurses reported experiencing workplace violence, including verbal abuse, physical threats, and being pinched or scratched.⁴ Nursing curriculum does not consistently focus on education for the home health setting or overall nurse safety, calling for a re-examination of …
