Inclusion has become a prominent topic in today’s education sector. However, it is far more than just a buzzword, it is federal law. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) mandates that students with disabilities be educated in their Least Restrictive Environment (LRE), “Each public agency must ensure that—To the maximum extent appropriate, children with disabilities, including children in public or private institutions or other care facilities, are educated with children who are nondisabled,” (U.S. Department of Education, 2017, para 1).  In summary, public schools must provide opportunities for students with disabilities to be educated alongside their general education peers …

The Learning Commons at Franklin University needed an innovative approach to communicating changes within our organization and to the broader university community. Migrating to a new LSP, changes in proctoring vendors, and other high‑impact changes are frequent within a department that includes library, testing, and academic support services. We faced many challenges while we figured out what worked (and what did not) and celebrated many wins along the way. We would like to share our experience and what worked to streamline our communications to stakeholders, adjuncts, faculty, staff, and students alike.

Few periods of Canadian history have been as momentous or terrible as the Great Depression. The Dominion and provincial governments’ inability to combat financial and environmental catastrophe led many Canadians to openly question the appropriateness of their constitutional framework. As legal historians have since documented, many leading jurists of the time believed that a strong central government could, through the institution of national programs, contain the Great Depression; in the eyes of these 1930s jurists, the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council—then Canada’s apex court—had sapped the federal government of its powers by misinterpreting the British North America Act, 1867 …

Maryland’s Nursing Workforce Study identified critical shortages in registered nurses and nurse educators, emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable, equity-focused strategies to strengthen the workforce and academic pipeline (Global Data, 2022; Maryland Hospital Association, 2022; National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice, 2020). To address these challenges, XXX was expanded as a statewide platform that advocates for healthier work environments through actionable, evidence-based resources. A team of academic content experts, GIS specialists, and marketers collaborated to design and implement new site features. Background: Nurses working in the home health setting often work alone in isolated and uncontrolled environments, which increases their risk of experiencing violence or unsafe situations. Recent home health nurse experiences suggest that the severity of safety events has increased in violence and in some cases, led to death. In a recent survey by National Nurses United (2023), eight out of ten nurses reported experiencing workplace violence, including verbal abuse, physical threats, and being pinched or scratched.⁴ Nursing curriculum does not consistently focus on education for the home health setting or overall nurse safety, calling for a re-examination of …

Of the 4.7 million registered nurses working in the United States, 55% work in acute care hospitals, and one-quarter will leave the profession within five years (Smiley et al., 2023). To fill these vacancies novice nurses will be hired, caring for the sick and dying. This can be a challenge affecting wellbeing and creating diminished quality patient and family centered care (Akpinar et al., 2025). Chronic exposure to stress elevates cortisol, a key hormone known to disrupt endocrine function, including the reproductive system; such disruptions may contribute to menstrual irregularities. This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project evaluated the effectiveness of a structured staff education program aimed at improving nurses’ knowledge and confidence in early sepsis recognition and management using the quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (qSOFA) tool. Despite the availability of evidence-based screening methods, inconsistent application and limited nurse confidence were identified as key practice gaps. Guided by the Johns Hopkins Evidence-Based Practice model and the ADDIE instructional design framework, an educational intervention was developed and delivered to hospital-based nurses, focusing on qSOFA criteria, early identification of sepsis, and nurse-driven escalation pathways aligned with current clinical guidelines. Such an increase in the population of developmentally delayed students presents challenges for school social workers in providing needed therapeutic services. This study addressed the limited therapeutic services for students with developmental disabilities in Idaho’s private and charter schools, as perceived by school social workers. Organizational leaders need to understand the role of positive psychology coaching in authentic leadership development because mission credibility depends on the leaders’ enacted values. The purpose of this basic qualitative study was to explore how positive psychology coaching may influence authentic leadership development. This study was guided by a conceptual framework integrating positive psychology and authentic leadership. Hybrid rocket technologies are gaining recognition as eco-friendly alternatives to traditional propulsion systems. Utah State University’s Propulsion Research Laboratory has developed a High-Performance Green Hybrid Propulsion (HPGHP) technology, leveraging 3D-printed ABS fuel for reliable, low-energy ignition. Among tested materials, only ABS shows suitable electrical-breakdown properties for arc ignition. Unfortunately, due to the proprietary formulations in commercial ABS blends, and its limited use as a rocket-propellant, related composition and combustion data are limited. Purpose: Diagnostic yield from exome and genome sequencing varies widely across studies. It remains unclear how much of this variation reflects patient-level factors (e.g., sex, clinical features, race/ethnicity, genetic ancestry) versus site-level practices such as sequencing modality or variant interpretation workflows. We aimed to quantify the contributions of these factors to diagnostic outcomes across five U.S. clinical sequencing sites.

Methods: We performed a cross-sectional analysis of 3,008 prenatal, neonatal, and pediatric cases from the NHGRI Clinical Sequencing Evidence-Generating Research (CSER) consortium (2017-2023). This dissertation addresses a central challenge in soybean breeding: how to make better selection decisions across diverse environments while working within the practical limits of field testing. Multi-environment testing is essential for evaluating breeding lines, but large testing networks are costly to maintain and difficult to interpret because genotype performance often changes across locations and years. At the same time, breeders must decide how to allocate limited field resources while still capturing the environmental and genetic variation needed for effective selection. The addition of small amounts of long-chain polymers to a turbulent flow has been reported to modify the flow phenomena when compared to Newtonian flows, resulting in a significant skin-friction reduction. Although polymer-induced drag reduction has been extensively studied through both experimental and numerical studies, a unified and predictive understanding of the phenomenon is still lacking. Pulmonary hypertension (PH) can be defined as a mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) greater than 20 mm Hg at rest during right heart catheterization (RHC). The reported prevalence of PH throughout the globe has been estimated to impact approximately 1% of the total population, with a majority of those afflicted being women more than men. Numerous etiologies give rise to the pathophysiology of PH, including heart disease (i.e., left-sided heart failure), lung diseases, and other unclear causes related to chronic stages and complications surrounding long-standing pulmonary thromboembolisms, side effects of certain medications, and genetic and environmental factors. This thesis investigates whether domain-specific fine-tuning of a large multilingual neural machine translation model improves translation quality for English-to-Georgian religious text, a low-resource pair underserved by existing systems. Using the 1.3-billion-parameter NLLB-200 model as a baseline, two LoRA-adapted variants were trained: General-FT, on 91,143 parallel segments of contemporary religious discourse drawn from the General Conference talks and other publications of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Scriptural-FT, on 33,229 segments from the scriptural canon of The Church.
