Michigan COVID-19 Outbreak Reports
The K-12 Aged ISD Reporting page was obtained from Michigan's COVID-19 data page: https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/stats/k-to-12-aged-isd-reporting.
This report is created from data reported by the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS) the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services' web-based communicable disease reporting system. Data is updated every week.
The purpose of the dashboard is to report the 7 day average of COVID-19 cases in Michigan school students aged 5 through 18 at the intermediate school district and school district levels, as well as display trends over time to better illustrate the changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. Cases are attributed to …

Faculty Research 2023
BACKGROUND: Phosphorylation of proteins is a key step in the regulation of many cellular processes including activation of enzymes and signaling cascades. The abundance of a phosphorylated peptide (phosphopeptide) is determined by the abundance of its parent protein and the proportion of target sites that are phosphorylated.
RESULTS: We quantified phosphopeptides, proteins, and transcripts in heart, liver, and kidney tissue samples of mice from 58 strains of the Collaborative Cross strain panel. We mapped ~700 phosphorylation quantitative trait loci (phQTL) across the three tissues and applied genetic mediation analysis to identify causal drivers of phosphorylation. We identified kinases, phosphatases, cytokines, …

Management Options For Linear Immunoglobulin A (Iga) Bullous Dermatosis: A Literature Review., Madiha Khan, Lily Park, Stanley Skopit
HPD Articles
Linear immunoglobulin A (IgA) bullous dermatosis (LABD) is an autoimmune condition with various triggers. Because of the lack of randomized controlled trials on LABD treatment, management options are mostly anecdotal. This paper provides a comprehensive review of treatment options from a literature review of reported treatments to arm clinicians with a guideline for the management of LABD in both pediatric and adult patients as well as those recalcitrant to first-line therapy (dapsone and steroids). We additionally illustrate an algorithm to use for the management of LABD to aid clinicians when faced with unique patient circumstances.

Measures of Success Series
By understanding storytelling dynamics, anyone can learn how to bring data stories to life. Data stories can help persuade decision-makers, but we need accessible tools for breaking down the dynamic process of storytelling into achievable steps. Based on ongoing research, this talk presents tools anyone can use, including:
-Introduction to storytelling thinking
-Classic advocacy arguments
-Evidence and forms of data for those arguments
-Narrative strategies that draw from common story structures
-Tone and tactics for engaging storytelling with different audience attitudes

Grain and Other Field Crops Research Articles
CONTEXT
Inland saline intrusion is occurring during the dry season in the Mekong River Delta (MRD), Vietnam. Rising sea levels, tidal fluctuations, drought, and changes to upstream flow contribute to extensive salinisation of rice producing areas of the MRD, leading to substantial rice crop losses.
OBJECTIVE
The identification, evaluation and implementation of alternative crop and soil management solutions are required to complement on-going rice production in the region.
METHODS
A review of scientific and grey literature was conducted regarding the nature and extent of salinisation in the MRD and the adoption and management of alternative crops to rice.
RESULTS

The International Pulsar Timing Array 2nd data release is the combination of data sets from worldwide collaborations. In this study, we search for continuous waves: gravitational wave signals produced by individual supermassive black hole binaries in the local universe. We consider binaries on circular orbits and neglect the evolution of orbital frequency over the observational span. We find no evidence for such signals and set sky averaged 95 per cent upper limits on their amplitude h95. The most sensitive frequency is 10 nHz with h95 = 9.1 × 10-15. We achieved the best upper limit to date at low and …
The Eye Of The King: Screenplay Adaptation As A Craft Tool, Nora Annette Graves
The Eye Of The King: Screenplay Adaptation As A Craft Tool, Nora Annette Graves
Masters Theses
Adaptation studies typically focus on a screenplay’s fidelity to its original text within the constraints imposed by the new genre. This thesis approaches adaptation as a craft tool: a rich source of fresh authorial insight into characters, settings, and plotlines. Experimentation, not fidelity, is the goal of the self-adapter; adaptations are valued and deemed successful based on the new levels of complexity they uncover or add to an ongoing story. The author’s screenplay adaptation of her original novel, The Eye of the King, served as a case study for testing the value of adaptation as a writer’s craft tool. Re-telling …

How A Balanced Christian Message In Film Can Inspire Christ-Like Transformation, Makayla Marrin Jacobs
Masters Theses
This thesis will attempt to examine the need for a balanced Christian message in film and how everyday acts of the Christian faith can inspire Christ-like transformation within society. This thesis will also explore the importance of developing faith and spiritual disciplines through the creative screenplay, All Hail the Hoodlums. Throughout history, living as a faithful Christian and practicing spiritual disciplines can appear to go directly against society’s natural flow as belief in a Creator oppose man’s selfishness and sinful nature. Seemingly, society at large currently projects that believing in a Monotheistic and Triune God and having a deep personal …

Mapping The Spatial Footprint Of Sea Breeze Winds In The Southeastern United States, Shaowu Bao, Leonard Pietrafesa, Paul Gayes, Stephen Noble, Brian Viner, Jian-Hua Qian, David Werth, Grant Mitchell, Savannah Burdette
Marine Science
Sea breeze winds are observed at various locations worldwide, but the spatially continuous mapping of sea breeze winds is rare. We have developed a scheme to map the areas of the southeastern United States (SEUS) coast influenced by sea breeze winds using a range of surface re-analysis data to identify their occurrence. Changes in wind direction and dew point temperature are both used to detect a potential sea breeze signature, which is then confirmed by cumuliform clouds seen in satellite images or coastal fronts shown as cohesive lines in radar reflectivity images. Filters are employed to remove onshore winds not …

Upholding Longstanding Prohibitions On Firearm Possession Under Bruen, Mitchell Gordon
SLU Law Journal Online
The Supreme Court’s decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen has cast doubt on the constitutionality of federal firearms possession laws, such as the prohibition on felons possessing guns. This piece examines how one federal district court upheld a federal restriction on felon gun possession in the recent wake of the Bruen decision. In this article, Mitchell Gordon especially focuses on the historical facts and analysis that are now required under Bruen in order to uphold a governmental restriction on Second Amendment rights.

Examining Strategic Antecedents Of The Appointment Of Women To Top Management Teams, Robert L. Bonner, Steven J. Hyde, Kristen Faile
Management Faculty Publications and Presentations
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to examine the organizational and environmental antecedents to the appointment of a woman to a non-CEO top management team (TMT) position.
Design/methodology/approach – This study uses a conditional fixed effects logistic regression model to analyze non-CEO TMT appointment data collected from the S&P 500 between 2008 and 2016.
Findings – Women were more likely to be appointed to non-CEO TMT positions when a firm was undergoing strategic change, had slack resources, and was in a less munificent environment.
Originality/value – This article contributes to the literature concerning the antecedents of the selection …
