Subaltern Women, State Neglect, And Climate Precarity: Rethinking Forest Landscape Governance In Indonesia, Titiek Kartika Hendrastiti, Siti Kusujiarti

The Indonesian Journal of Socio-Legal Studies

This article examines the social positioning and struggles of subaltern women in East Java, Indonesia, within the intersecting conditions of state neglect and climate precarity in Forest Landscape Governance (FLG). Drawing on field research conducted between 2022 and 2023, it employs Postcolonial Feminist Political Ecology (PFPE) and Postcolonial Feminist Participatory Action Research (PFPAR) to analyze how governance regimes simultaneously depend upon yet marginalize women’s ecological labor. Based on field conversations, storytelling, focus group discussions, participatory drawing, and community dialogues in Banyuwangi and Trenggalek, the study shows that subaltern women remain largely invisible within formal governance frameworks, despite their central role …

Voices Of Resilience: Black Women’S Navigation To Executive Leadership Roles In Corporate America - A Narrative Inquiry, Sylvia Blackmon-Roberts Apr 2026

Voices Of Resilience: Black Women’S Navigation To Executive Leadership Roles In Corporate America - A Narrative Inquiry, Sylvia Blackmon-Roberts

PhD in Organizational Leadership

Black women remain markedly underrepresented in the C-suite, despite their growing educational attainment and presence in the workforce. This narrative inquiry examined the lived experiences of five Black women executives to illuminate how they interpreted and navigated the realities of leadership within corporate environments. Guided by Clandinin and Connelly’s (2000) three-dimensional framework, the study explored how temporality, sociality, and place shaped their leadership identities and strategies. Participants described early life influences, organizational dynamics, and identity-based challenges that shaped their trajectories, revealing how they confronted exclusion, navigated scrutiny, and cultivated resilience through faith, preparation, community, and strategic competence. Cross-case analysis identified …

The Effect Of Moral Potency On Employee Fraud Motive In Organizations, John Kopalchick Iii Apr 2026

The Effect Of Moral Potency On Employee Fraud Motive In Organizations, John Kopalchick Iii

PhD in Organizational Leadership

This study examined the drivers of employee fraud behavior. The theory of planned behavior served as the foundation for understanding how moral potency related to employee fraud motive. A sample of 102 auditors and audit-related professionals completed a survey on fraudsters’ behavioral traits. Using quantitative, nonexperimental methods, this study employed correlational and predictive statistical tests to examine the relationship between moral potency and employee fraud motive. Results showed no significant relationship between moral potency and employee fraud motive. The study filled a gap by applying quantitative methods, specifically the employee fraud motive scale, to understand employee fraud behavior in a …

Beyond Algorithmic Equality, Tatiana Dancy Apr 2026

Beyond Algorithmic Equality, Tatiana Dancy

Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property

Algorithms can predict the risk that a given offender will reoffend, on the basis of statistical observations about the relationship between certain attributes and proxies for criminal behavior (e.g., arrest or conviction). These predictions inform a range of decisions within the realm of criminal justice across the world, including sentencing, security classification, and parole. The variables that can increase an individual’s risk score, which are not widely publicized by those who develop or use risk tools, include financial stress, the criminality of friends or family, parental neglect, and experiences of domestic violence. In this way, algorithms may treat individuals as …

Rewired: Reconceptualizing Legal Services For The Ai Age, Lev E. Breydo

Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property

The legal profession is at a crossroads, caught between intensifying fears of AI-driven displacement and a generational opportunity for transformation. This Article provides a practical framework for navigating the shifting terrain.

Situating legal innovation within a multi-century arc of technological change, the Article draws on management and strategy scholarship to develop two core organizing models: the Legal Services Value Chain and the Innovation Frontier. The value chain disaggregates the lifecycle of a legal matter into five distinct nodes of activity, providing a map for subsequent analyses.

Building on that foundation, the Innovation Frontier traces LegalTech’s evolution from 2000s-vintage e-discovery to …

Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects

Keywords: dexmedetomidine, propofol, reintubation, sedation2

Abstract Assignment

Background

Sedation management in the ICU plays a key role in extubation readiness and post-extubation outcomes in mechanically ventilated patients. Although both propofol and dexmedetomidine are commonly used in critical care, there is limited evidence comparing their impact on early reintubation. This quality improvement (QI) project examined whether sedative choice was associated with reintubation within 48 hours of extubation.

Methods

A retrospective QI analysis was conducted in a cohort of 38 mechanically ventilated adult patients. Patients received either propofol (n = 31) or dexmedetomidine (n = 7) prior to extubation. Reintubation within …

Mitigating Renewal Risk In Banks: An Analysis Of Ai Adoption, Customer Loyalty And Macroeconomic Conditions, Mackenzie M. Cauthorn Apr 2026

Mitigating Renewal Risk In Banks: An Analysis Of Ai Adoption, Customer Loyalty And Macroeconomic Conditions, Mackenzie M. Cauthorn

ASPIRE 2026

Renewal risk, the uncertainty surrounding whether customers will continue existing financial relationships such as loans, deposits, credit lines, or insurance products, poses a growing challenge for modern banks because customer retention is critical for revenue stability, cross-selling opportunities, and long-term profitability. This study examines how the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in banking interacts with macroeconomic conditions to influence renewal risk and customer attrition. Specifically, the research addresses three primary questions: (1) whether macroeconomic conditions, such as perceived economic health, inflation concerns, unemployment expectations, and personal financial confidence, affect the likelihood and timing of banking product renewal; (2) how AI …

Casa Milá As A Sensory Laboratory A Neuroarchitectural Approach To Gaudí'S Modernism, María Beltrán Rodríguez, Chloe Sharpe, Alejandro Martínez González, Ivette Caldelas Apr 2026

Casa Milá As A Sensory Laboratory A Neuroarchitectural Approach To Gaudí'S Modernism, María Beltrán Rodríguez, Chloe Sharpe, Alejandro Martínez González, Ivette Caldelas

Artículos científicos

This paper examines Antoni Gaudí’s Casa Milà (La Pedrera) through the lens of neuroarchitecture, exploring how form, light, and texture shape perception and emotional response. Integrating architectural analysis with neuroscience, it proposes an experimental framework combining EEG, eye-tracking, and behavioral data to assess spatial experience within immersive environments. By linking formal complexity to cognitive and physiological responses, the study reveals how Gaudí’s architecture transcends aesthetics to engage the brain’s sensory and emotional systems. The approach positions his work as a bridge between art, science, and urban creativity, expanding our understanding of architecture as a multisensory cognitive phenomenon.

Government & Insurance Update: Mda Advocacy Successes, James Budd Mpp

The Journal of the Michigan Dental Association

This document summarizes the recent legislative achievements of the Michigan Dental Association’s advocacy team. Key highlights include the House passage of bills regulating dental specialty advertising to ensure transparency for patients and the elimination of the inactive Dental Specialty Task Force. The update also promotes the MDA’s legislative text alert system and online tools designed to help member dentists engage with lawmakers on "hot-button" issues. By staying informed through these platforms, Michigan dentists can support the MDA’s mission to improve practice conditions and access to care across the state.
