In small towns like Morris that are surrounded by agriculture, there’s an increased likelihood of contaminants to be present in the water. These commonly include heavy metals and pesticides which, in high enough dosages or prolonged exposure, can quickly become poisonous and harmful with lasting effects for both plants and humans. Throughout our research we have been analyzing the presence, if any, of lead, copper and cadmium as well as the common pesticides atrazine and mesotrione in the water throughout Morris. CONTEXT: Healthcare workers are at a high risk of infection during infectious disease outbreaks, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the availability of several vaccines against COVID-19, the absence of vaccination in patients and colleagues remains a continuous source of stress in healthcare workers. We conducted a survey of physician preceptors, both MDs and DOs, to explore the impact of differences in the patients' and colleagues' vaccination status on their well-being, stress, and burnout.

Text mining and text analysis is a way of understanding text documents using r coding that is more frequently used for numbered data. It helps with understanding portions of the text and drawing conclusions from there. This research looks specifically at the Adam Smith required documents that are used in the CIE course designated for freshmen. It looks at sentiments of the documents, including word sentiment, sentence sentiment, page and overall document sentiment as well. It provides visuals of word clouds to portray word frequency, tf-idf (which is explained in the presentation) and bigram analysis.

The origin of endometriosis has multiple theories, with controversy over which may demonstrate the prominent pathophysiology. The most common extra-pelvic organ system affected by endometriosis is the gastrointestinal tract. Gastrointestinal endometriosis (GE) accounts for 3 to 37% of all endometriosis cases, and appendiceal endometriosis is present in around 3% of GE cases, therefore constituting less than 1% of all endometriosis cases. In this report, we present a 24-year-old female with a past medical history significant for endometriosis status post two excisional laparoscopies who presented with eight months' duration of right lower quadrant pain, constant and stabbing, with rebound tenderness. Substance use disorder (SUD) is a chronic, pervasive disease that affects approximately 40.3 million people aged 12 and over within the United States (SAMHSA, 2021). Recent investigations have emphasized preventive measures targeting the development of SUDs and the occurrence of relapse. However, to date, FDA-approved medications are only available for those with alcohol (AUD) and opioid use disorders (OUD) (Forouzan et al., 2021). Given that about 964,000 people have methamphetamine use disorder (MUD) within the United States, investigation of novel treatment approaches for psychostimulant abuse is warranted (Forouzan, Hoffman, and Kosten, 2020). This Honors Project looks into creating a hypothetical intervention program incorporating BGSU Students and residents from Wood Haven Healthcare in Bowling Green, Ohio. The program, which is called Grab a MIC: Making Intergenerational Connections, seeks to answer if intergenerational music therapy intervention will help alleviate negative perceptions of aging and geriatric depression, and promote intergenerational understanding. Prior research suggests that cognitive control can assist the comprehension of sentences that create conflict between interpretations, at least under some circumstances. However, the mixed pattern of results suggests that cognitive control may not always be necessary for accurate comprehension. We tested whether cognitive control recruitment for language processing is systematically variable, depending on the type of sentential ambiguity or conflict, individual differences in cognitive control, and task demands. Participants completed two sessions in a web-based experiment. The first session tested conflict modulation using interleaved Stroop and sentence comprehension trials. Centering the testimonios of two sets of transborder high school seniors living and learning in Mexico and the U.S., in this article, we draw upon decolonizing approaches to theorize critical consciousness formation for and with students from families with mixed documentation status who cross physical and metaphorical borders. Data come from two larger qualitative studies on immigration and education and demonstrate how young people recognize inequity, critique it, and engage in a range of actions to counteract it. We argue that border-crossing youth draw upon personal experiences to critique and take action to change oppressive realities. We extend critical consciousness …

Deep learning training consumes ever-increasing time and resources, and that is
due to the complexity of the model, the number of updates taken to reach good
results, and both the amount and dimensionality of the data. In this dissertation,
we will focus on making the process of training more efficient by focusing on the
step size to reduce the number of computations for parameters in each update.

On January 2nd, 2023, in an NFL game played between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills, Damar Hamlin, a Bills safety, tackled Bengals receiver Tee Higgins. After the collision, Hamlin stood up and began to walk, but after two steps he collapsed to the ground. He went into cardiac arrest and was given CPR and was later taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition. It explores utilizing stations in Lagrange orbital points within the solar system, analogous to transcontinental hubs for logistics operations in an emerging domain.
