Dynamic Telemetry Profile Enforcement In A Controller Network, Rajesh I V, Vinay Saini, Nagendra Kumar Nainar, Ram Mohan R

Defensive Publications Series

Because telemetry processing can involve high resource usage, such processing is typically provided via a cloud infrastructure. However, there are drawbacks to current implementations involving such cloud infrastructure processing. For example, such processing typically follows standard processing patterns. Yet, with the increasing complexity of different network use cases, there are scenarios that would benefit from dynamic telemetry processing. Presented herein are techniques through which multiple device telemetry profiles can allow a cloud controller to dynamically match a telemetry profile to specific conditions for a tenant network. Each telemetry profile may include selections for data processing through priority and secured queues. …

Domain Performance Indexes (Dpis) For Improving Predictive Networking And Network Correlation, Navdeep Sood, Praveen Kumar Apr 2023

Domain Performance Indexes (Dpis) For Improving Predictive Networking And Network Correlation, Navdeep Sood, Praveen Kumar

Defensive Publications Series

The concept of a domain is fundamentally relevant to segment routing (SR) Flexible Algorithm (Flex-Algo) technology and to Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) backbone networks. Additionally, all Internet service providers (ISPs) employ the concept of a domain to distinguish network segments for manageability and traffic control. The existing metrics are, however, confined to nodes and links. To address this limitation, techniques are presented herein that support a number of new metrics which apply to a domain and which help an operator to improve predictive networking, network correlation, and traffic engineering at a domain level. Such metrics provide a measure of, among …

Single Parameter Driven Tunable Resource Allocation For Machine Learning Tasks, Peter Danenberg Apr 2023

Single Parameter Driven Tunable Resource Allocation For Machine Learning Tasks, Peter Danenberg

Defensive Publications Series

Machine learning tasks, such as natural language processing evaluations, are assigned to server resources by dividing the tasks into a number of queues. In such an environment, different tasks may have different priorities, e.g., production tasks may be higher priority than research tasks. Task scheduling mechanisms such as weighted round-robin or batch scheduling are approximate, non-deterministic, and cannot be tuned based on the real time availability of resources. This disclosure describes the use of a single resource optimization parameter, determined based on real time resource availability to establish quantiles based on the exponential distribution for the single parameter. Task queues …

Direct Current Power Supply Unit Input Feed Adapter, Rohit Dev Gupta, Paolo Sironi, Lorenzo Ghioni, Arjun Guzar Jayaprakash, Joel Richard Goergen

Defensive Publications Series

Different users of networking and computing equipment have their own Direct Current (DC) power termination preferences. Some PSUs are designed with dual-hole input types in order to cater to different needs/preferences, however, such dual-hole input types can make PSU design more complex, add to development costs, requires life cycle management of multiple product units, and can consume more space, which can restrict the cooling effectiveness of a PSU. Presented herein is a DC PSU input feed adapter that can be used to configure any DC PSU for multiple feed termination options (e.g., for both pig-tail and dual-hole connections), which can …

A network controller allows clients of the data center to make decisions on how to incorporate green services into their data center usage. A green-aware Service Level Agreement (SLA) map provides insight into the sustainability factors for each node that is used to perform a service for the client. The green-aware SLA map is determined according to an Environment Conscious (EC) metric that quantifies the environmental and sustainability impacts of performing a service at a data center.

Magnetic Media To Improve Ph Alignment, Hp Inc Apr 2023

Magnetic Media To Improve Ph Alignment, Hp Inc

Defensive Publications Series

3D printers are powerful tools for companies involved in prototyping since they can iterate designs much faster than other technologies. The main difference between MultiJet Fusion 3D and their competitors is the usage of agents to, accurately, generate and form the desired part’s exact shape. To ensure that these agents land accurately to the powder, to precisely melt the requested shape, an alignment procedure is performed on the printer recurrently. This alignment process is printed on a paper above a specific alignment plate. This cannot be printed directly on the final surface as the dot detection accuracy on the powder …

Generic System And Method For Json Data Parsing, Vishesh Kain Apr 2023

Generic System And Method For Json Data Parsing, Vishesh Kain

Defensive Publications Series

The present disclosure provides a method and system that is generic for automatic JSON data parsing. The system obtains the JSON data of various structures as input for parsing. During the parsing, if the JSON data is not valid or corrupt then the system filters out that JSON data and stores at a different location. Thereafter, the system parses the JSON data from top to bottom after analysing each key and stores the values of each key. During the parsing, a schema of the JSON data is created by the system. The system derives unique names of column after analysing …

Network Function Registration To Two Different Network Respository Functions And Providing Capabilities To Handle Discovery Of Other Network Functions And Incoming Sessions, Uday Kiran Bokam Apr 2023

Network Function Registration To Two Different Network Respository Functions And Providing Capabilities To Handle Discovery Of Other Network Functions And Incoming Sessions, Uday Kiran Bokam

Defensive Publications Series

In a 5G mobile network, the network functions (NFs) register to a specific network repository function (NRF) in order to facilitate NF discovery functionality. In a large-scale network, NFs can be segregated by different parameters, such as region, location, market, etc., which can be based on required and estimated network capacity. For instances such as disaster management in a large scale network which has multiple regions / markets involving any one NF in a given region, it is desirable to divert traffic for the NF to a neighbor market/region in which NFs are being handled by different NRFs. However, NRFs …

Site-Directed Mutagenesis Of Lysine 125 In Malate Dehydrogenase, Taylor Prieve, Cathryn Wallmow Apr 2023

Site-Directed Mutagenesis Of Lysine 125 In Malate Dehydrogenase, Taylor Prieve, Cathryn Wallmow

Undergraduate Research Symposium 2023

Malate dehydrogenase is a multimeric enzyme among living organisms that catalyzes the reverse transformation of malate and oxaloacetate using the reduction of NAD+ to NADH. This reaction plays a role in metabolic pathways including the citric acid cycle, gluconeogenesis, and anaerobic metabolism. MDH shares a similar 3-dimensional structure and mechanism with lactate dehydrogenase. Knowing the structure is important when it comes to the redesign of enzyme mutations, which can be a useful method for studying the catalysis of small substrates. Physiological effects of the amino acid sequence alterations are easier to predict when the structure is known. The active site …

K-12 Education Fostering White Fragility, Ashley Johnson Apr 2023

K-12 Education Fostering White Fragility, Ashley Johnson

Undergraduate Research Symposium 2023

Scholars such as Carol Anderson (2017) and Joe Feagin (1994; 2006) have written extensively about the prevalence of white rage and systemic racism in contemporary society. We are seeing this played out in real time with Florida Governor De Santis trying to enact legislation to remove discussions of African American history and block dialogues about racism in schools. Robin DiAngelo (2019) explains “white fragility” as blaming “others with less social power for their discomfort” (109). DiAngelo and others have asserted that efforts, such as that of Governor De Santis, reinforce white fragility in schools. Specifically, curricula and instructional materials that …

Applying Bioactive Glass Beads For Long-Term Drug Delivery, Marie O. Sykes, Rashi Sharma Apr 2023

Applying Bioactive Glass Beads For Long-Term Drug Delivery, Marie O. Sykes, Rashi Sharma

Physics and Astronomy Presentations

Bioactive glass beads have been used to distribute medicine over extended periods of time in limited uses. They can be engineered to have a porous and hollow structure, and using Mo-Sci's OL-GL 1756b (1756b), the fundamental notion of dosage distribution can be tested in preparation to design the optimal glass for medicine distribution. A few key factors in this is how long does it take the liquid to release from the beads, how do the beads decay, and how well the glass can bond to human tissue. This research demonstrates the capacities of the 1756b type as a promising start …

Impact Of Colored Noise On The Acute Stress Response, Gillian L. Orth, Abigail E. Thompson Apr 2023

Impact Of Colored Noise On The Acute Stress Response, Gillian L. Orth, Abigail E. Thompson

Undergraduate Research Symposium 2023

In psychoacoustics, noise can be categorized as different ‘colors’, which refers to the varying power and spread of noise signals over the spectrum of sound frequencies. White noise contains all frequencies at equal volumes, and pink noise, in which the power spectral density of the sound is inverse to the frequency. Both have been studied for their effects on sleep and relaxation. However, little research exists on the topic of colored noise usage for stress reduction and the effects it may have on the acute stress response.
