Practical Indirect Control Flow Analysis For Binary Executables, Haotian Zhang
Practical Indirect Control Flow Analysis For Binary Executables, Haotian Zhang
Computer Science and Engineering Dissertations - Archive
Resolving indirect control flow is one of the fundamental challenges in binary analysis. Improving the accuracy of the indirect control flow analysis is vital to the binary analysis domain. Many analysis algorithms and security techniques rely on a precise indirect control flow result, such as recursive disassembling, control flow integrity, data-flow analysis, etc. Incorrect or even inaccuracy indirect control flow analysis results can compromise or even break the assumptions of these analyses. This thesis explores this topic from two directions, altering the indirect control flow analysis to make it more suitable for different scenarios and improving the accuracy of indirect …

Research at Children's Mercy Month 2023
Objectives: Children with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) may develop premature pubarche (PP). We studied the incidence of PP and potential precursors and consequences.
Methods: A chart review of children with PWS treated at Children’s Mercy Hospital between 1990 – 2021 was performed. Patients not seen in endocrine clinic or without documentation of pubarche were excluded. PP was defined as Tanner stage 2 (TS2) pubic hair in girls < 8 and boys < 9 years old. Gonadarche was defined as having TS2 breast development or testicular volume ≥4 mL. Bone age (BA) divided by chronological age (CA) was used as an index for BA advancement. Homeostatic Model Assessment for Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR) was calculated as (Fasting insulin, uIU/mL)*(Fasting glucose, mg/dL)/405. Small for gestational age (SGA) was defined as birth weight less than the 10% for age. T2D was defined as having a HbA1c ≥6.5%. Wilcoxon rank-sum, Fisher’s exact, and Kendall rank correlation coefficient (CC) were used.
Results: Analysis included 43 children with PWS, 23 (53.4%) with PP and 20 (46.5%) with normal pubarche (NP). Average age of pubarche was 6.48 ± 0.92 years in PP group and 9.9 ± 1.59 …

Policy Brief: Teacher Professional Development For Students With Disability In The Asia-Pacific, Syeda Kashfee Ahmed, Anannya Chakraborty
Global education monitoring
Around the world, policymakers and development organisations are increasingly supporting the education of students with disability, particularly in the bid to achieve United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 – to ensure ‘inclusive and equitable quality education for all’. Yet globally, more than half of students with disability drop out of secondary school due to the lack of support in classrooms (UNESCAP, 2019). In the Asia-Pacific region, resource shortages and high student drop-out rates significantly impact the shift to inclusive education. Additionally, educational segregation of students with disability is widely accepted in low- and middle-income countries in the region, despite international …

Psychopathy In Society: Understanding The Neural Mechanisms That Give Rise To Psychopathic Traits, Phoebe Zalenski
Psychological Science Undergraduate Honors Theses
Psychopathy is characterized as an individual exhibiting callousness, grandiosity, lack of empathy, and manipulative behavior towards others over a long period of time. Given these symptoms, psychopathy is associated with a markedly increased risk of arrest and imprisonment. Together, these findings highlight the importance of understanding the cause(s) of psychopathy, as doing so may help to develop treatments or preventative interventions. Prior work has suggested that structural abnormalities in the amygdala may play a role in clinical psychopathy; however, it is less clear whether amygdala abnormalities exist on a continuum of psychopathic traits. In this study, I aimed to determine …
The Association Between Mobile Phone Use And Suicidal Ideation, Brendan Wolf
The Association Between Mobile Phone Use And Suicidal Ideation, Brendan Wolf
Psychological Science Undergraduate Honors Theses
Research suggests that suicidal ideation can increase among people who feel that they do not belong (i.e. thwarted belongingness) and who perceive themselves to be a burden on others (i.e. perceived burdensomeness). However, it is not known whether these risk factors for suicidal ideation are moderated by smartphone use and social media use. I hypothesized that the association of thwarted belongingness and perceived burdensomeness would be stronger at higher levels of mobile phone use and social media use. Undergraduate student participants (N = 81) were incentivized via class credit to participate in a two-week longitudinal study. They completed questionnaires about …

Enestr¨Om-Kakeya Type Results For Complex And Quaternionic Polynomials, Matthew Gladin
Enestr¨Om-Kakeya Type Results For Complex And Quaternionic Polynomials, Matthew Gladin
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The well known Eneström-Kakeya Theorem states that: for P(z)=∑i=0n ai zi, a polynomial of degree n with real coefficients satisfying 0 ≤ a0 ≤ a1 ≤ ⋯≤ an, all zeros of P(z) lie in |z|≤1 in the complex plane. In this thesis, we will find inner and outer bounds in which the zeros of complex and quaternionic polynomials lie. We will do this by imposing restrictions on the real and imaginary parts, and on the moduli, of the complex and quaternionic coefficients. We also apply similar restrictions on complex polynomials with …
