Statistical Inference For The Modified Weibull Model Based On The Generalized Order Statistics, M. Maswadah, M. Seham

Journal of Statistics Applications & Probability

In recent years, a new class of models has been proposed to exhibit bathtub-shaped failure rate functions. The modified Weibull is one of these models, which is a generalization for the Weibull distribution and is capable of modeling bathtub-shaped and increasing failure rate lifetime data. In this paper, conditional inference has been applied to constructing the confidence intervals for its parameters based on the generalized order statistics. For measuring the performance of this approach compared to the Asymptotic Maximum Likelihood estimates (AMLEs), simulations studies have been carried out for different values of sample sizes and shape parameters. The simulation results …

Bayes Estimation Of Pareto Distribution Based On Type Ii Censored Data Under The Weighted Linex Loss Function, Hassabelrasul Yousuf Al Tom Shihabeldeen, Fuad S. Al-Duais

Journal of Statistics Applications & Probability

The main objective of this article is to develop a linear exponential function risks in Saudi banks (LINEXLF) to estimate the shape parameter, reliability, and hazard rate functions of the Pareto distribution based on Type II Censored Data. By weighting LINEX loss function to produce a modified loss function called weighted linear exponential (WLINEXLF) loss function. We then use WLINEXLF to derive the shape parameter, reliability, and hazard rate functions of the Pareto distribution. Furthermore, to examine the performance of the proposed method WLINEXLF we conduct a Monte Carlo simulation. The comparison is between the proposed method and other methods …

Journal of Statistics Applications & Probability

The purpose of this research is to quantify the impact of macroeconomic factors on Jordanian bank deposits in the context of the CoVD-19 epidemic. The annual data are collected between 1980 and 2020. The novel Autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model is suggested to evaluate the link between bank deposits and macroeconomic factors. The findings of Grangers causality test indicate that there is a one-way causal link between deposits and macroeconomic factors. Moreover, the study shows no causal link between financial shocks and bank deposits. In addition, the border test investigates the existence of a long-term equilibrium between variables. To attain …

The Effect Of Demarketing Strategies On Consumer Attitudes Toward Household Water Consumption, Mohammed Zedan Salem, Ahlam Ibrahim Al-Ethawi

Journal of Statistics Applications & Probability

Water access is a critical public policy problem that many people face worldwide. As demand for fresh water rises and supply declines, a growing number of towns will be compelled to respond to water shortages. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to determine the effect of demarketing strategies on consumer attitudes toward household water consumption. An empirical research was conducted to test the hypotheses, using primary data collected via a survey questionnaire. A structural equation model (SEM) is used to examine the data collected from 356 users. The findings reveal that there is a relationship between independent variables (i.e. …

Efficient Circular Designs Partially Balanced For Residual Effects In Periods Of Three Different Sizes, Muhammad Ejaz Malik, Muhammad Shahbaz, Muhammad Daniyal, Khadim Hussain, Muhammad Riaz, Rashid Ahmed

Journal of Statistics Applications & Probability

To estimate the treatment effects using repeated measurements designs (RMDs), residual effects often become the major source of bias. Minimal balanced RMDs are well known economical designs to minimize bias due to these effects for v odd, where v is the number of treatments to be compared. For v even, partially balanced RMDs are preferred. In this article, catalogues of two main classes of minimal circular partially balanced RMDs are compiled in periods of three different sizes. These designs possess high efficiency of residual effects and of Separability, therefore, our proposed designs are efficient.

Journal of Statistics Applications & Probability

The functional variational principle and differential equations of motion for the Lee–Wick electrodynamics equation are investigated in this study. A functional Hamiltonian principle is built utilizing the concept of a functional derivative. The Hamiltonian formulation of third-order continuous field systems is created using functional derivatives for continuous third-order systems. The formalism is generalized, and this new formulation is used to solve the Lee–Wick electrodynamics equation. We used the Euler-Lagrange equations for these systems to compare the results obtained using Hamiltons equations in terms of functional derivatives. To compare the outcomes of the two methodologies in terms of functional derivatives, one …

Bayesian Estimation For Parameters Of Truncated Data Based On A Two-Phase Sampling Plan, Sohair F. Higazi, Sarah F. Aboud, Khaled Bedair

Journal of Statistics Applications & Probability

This paper provides insights to researchers when conducting a survey and the response rate is very low, and it is of interest to increase response rate and to estimate the optimal population mean. The paper considers a population that consists of two strata, respondents, and non-respondents. The sampling design is to select a random sample of size n, then when only r observations respond to the survey, select an optimal random sample of size m that minimizes the expected loss, from the remaining (n-r) observations. A truncated Bayesian approach sampling plan is considered [1], such that the posterior distribution of …

Journal of Statistics Applications & Probability

Minimal strongly balanced cross over designs (CODs) are widely used to estimate direct effects and carry over effects independently. The situations where these minimal designs cannot be constructed, strongly partially balanced CODs (SPBCODs) are used. In this article, minimal circular SPBCODs are constructed in periods of three different sizes. Catalogues of these designs are also compiled.

The Performance Of Quantile Regression And Linear Regression With Heteroskedasticity Was Compared In A Simulated Study, Marwa R. Saad, Ahmed H. Youssef, Shereen H. Abdel Latif

Journal of Statistics Applications & Probability

The least-square estimator has several drawbacks when dealing with heteroscedasticity; this estimate will not be a Best Linear Unbiased Estimator (BLUE). Quantile Regression is a dependable option; however, it has some substantial computational problems. We compare five resampling approaches to estimate the standard error of the coefficients, in the situation of heterogeneity, for inference. According to simulation study, quantile regression beats linear regression and is also better when predicting errors in the presence of heterogeneity.

Compared to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS), Cramer-von Mises (CM), and Anderson-Darling (AD) tests, the proposed tests, say Dˆ n,1and Dˆ n,2, generally perform better in terms of their powers. The dependence of theDˆ n,1, Dˆ n,2,KS,CM, and AD tests on the …
