Clustering Data With Values Missing At Random Using Scale Mixtures Of Multivariate Skew-Normal Distributions, Jason Pillay, Cristina Tortora, Antonio Punzo, Andriette Bekker

Handling missing data is a major challenge in model-based clustering, especially when the data exhibit skewness and heavy tails. We address this by extending the finite mixture of scale mixtures of multivariate skew-normal (FMSMSN) family to accommodate incomplete data under a missing at random (MAR) mechanism. Unlike previous work that is limited to one of the special cases of the FMSMSN family, our method offers a cluster analysis methodology for the entire family that accounts for skewness and excess kurtosis amidst data with missing values. Objective: The clock drawing test (CDT) assesses multiple cognitive functions, including visuospatial construction and executive planning, and it is a core feature of many cognitive screens. Recent evidence indicates that young adults may experience difficulties producing an accurate response and we present a closer examination of generational differences in CDT performance in the context of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), where a notable failure rate was observed in our young adult respondents. This paper focuses on the methodology involving ground penetration radar (GPR) for detecting and localizing random cavities in underground limestone soil, in conjunction with geotechnical data. A GPR survey was conducted alongside field and laboratory geotechnical tests at a field where mining activities are now promoted (Saudi Arabia Northern Borders Province). The paper presents correlations between the instantaneous amplitude of the reflected electromagnetic (EM) waves and rock quantification distributed (RQD), recovery rock parameter (REC), and uniaxial compressive strength (UCS). This paper addresses the current state of California's wildfire epidemic and how the increasing effects of climate change have worsened the fires, harming residents' health and the state's economy. The wildfires are shaped by factors such as climate change, land-use choices, and policy designs.
