Purpose

The CDC validated Stay Independent Check Your Risk for Fall (SICRFQ) tool was integrated on a geriatric trauma unit. This initiative sought to improve nurse-driven, individualized fall prevention through the identification of patient-specific fall risk factors among older adults.

Background

Inpatient falls are burdensome on patients and hospitals. The SICRFQ tool can aid in screening for patient specific risk factors. Screening and nurse-led fall prevention strategies can reduce falls in the acute care setting.

Methodology

Generational Interpretations Of Feminism: A Qualitative Study Of Women’S Perspectives, Molly Sabia Msw

The current study gathered information on how women across five generations interpret feminism. Nine women were interviewed: (2 per generation, except the silent generation was 1). Understanding how women across five generations interpret feminism helps determine whether perspectives of feminism are due to a difference in time period or other variables. Based on research that has been conducted, we know that there are different views and interpretations of feminism on a broad scale; this study dove into participants’ perspectives and generational influence.

The goal of this quality improvement QI project was to explore the areas of recommendation for Emergency Action Plans specific to club rugby. A codebook was then established based on EAP best practices and injury occurrence based on the most common injuries in rugby. The codebook was then used to analyze secondary data from existing EAPs to determine gaps and areas of strength in EAP development and the implementation into club rugby. Kinesio Tape (KT) is widely used in athletic training as a non‐invasive intervention for pain, swelling, and functional limitations, yet research findings remain inconsistent.1-3,5,7This Evidence‐to‐Practice Review evaluates current literature, including a systematic review and a meta analysis to determine the clinical effectiveness of KT as a primary treatment modality compared to several established modalities. The review synthesizes foundational theory, historical development, unsubstantiated claims, evidence‐based uses, and comparative effectiveness relative to other therapeutic interventions. Findings from the guiding manuscript indicate that KT may provide small, short‐term improvements in pain and function, but it is rarely superior to established treatments such as …

Epidemiological data shows an increase in oblique injuries in Major League Baseball (MLB) in recent years. Throughout MLB front offices, more emphasis is being placed on bat speed and hitting the ball hard as indicators of success as a hitter. This study aims to investigate whether higher values in these advanced swing metrics are predictors of oblique injury in MLB hitters. Publicly available injury data was sourced to collect a sample of hitters who suffered oblique injuries during the 2024 and 2025 MLB seasons. While feedback processes have been widely studied, less emphasis has been placed on how employees interpret the organizational culture conditions that influence feedback effectiveness. This qualitative phenomenological study explored employee perceptions of how organizational culture shapes feedback experiences and their impact on professional development, satisfaction, and engagement. The purpose of this mixed-methods study was to explore the repertoire selection practices of elementary general music teachers in the state of Maine. Participants (N = 94) completed a survey asking for the demographic information of their school community, their level of education, the repertoire resources they most often use when planning, and what criteria would cause them to omit or remove a song or piece from their curriculum. Song collection websites were the most popular repertoire resource among participants, and the leading criteria for a good song choice were songs “with a variety of musical elements”. “Historical context” was …

Accurate assessment of yeast physiological health is essential for achieving consistent, efficient, and predictable beer fermentations. Although yeast vitality is more predictive of fermentation performance than viability alone, no universally adopted vitality assay currently exists in the brewing industry. This thesis investigates vitaltitration (VT) as a rapid, robust, and brewery-feasible method for quantifying yeast vitality and predicting fermentation performance. We hypothesize that VT provides a reliable measure of metabolic competence that correlates with fermentation kinetics across brewery-relevant yeast strains. This dissertation presents a qualitative descriptive case study examining the research culture at Homarus University (HU), a Regional Comprehensive University (RCU) in the northeastern United States. The study addresses a gap in existing research culture literature, which primarily focuses on research-intensive institutions. This project explored the research culture of an RCU through stories, symbols, and traditions related to research. Data was collected through twenty interviews with faculty, staff, and students, alongside an analysis of library archives. The research also incorporated reflective practices by the researcher, acknowledging the researcher’s positionality as both an insider and an outsider to HU's research environment. …

We present a crossmatch between a combined catalog of X-ray sources and the Vera C. Rubin Observatory Data Preview 1 (DP1) to identify optical counterparts. The six fields targeted as part of DP1 include the Extended Chandra Deep Field South (E-CDF-S), the Euclid Deep Field South, the Fornax Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxy (Fornax dSph), 47 Tucanae (47 Tuc), and science validation fields with low Galactic and ecliptic latitude (SV_95_-25 and SV_38_7, respectively). We find matches to 2314 of 3830 X-ray sources. We also compare our crossmatch to DP1 in the E-CDF-S field to previous efforts to identify optical counterparts. The probability …

Introduction – Bone-seeking radiopharmaceuticals are the treatment of choice with clinical benefits for patients with extensive skeletal metastases, but they can also cause serious radiation-related adverse events (rrAEs). Management of rare and severe radiopharmaceutical rrAEs remains challenging because of incomplete knowledge of their natural history and pathogenetic mechanisms. We report a case of unlikely related gangrene following a protracted hospitalization after one dose of investigational [117mSn]tin-117m-diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (Sn-117m-DTPA) for treatment of extensive skeletal metastases from castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Trauma‑informed care (TIC) has become an important framework for understanding and responding to the needs of incarcerated individuals, who experience disproportionately high rates of childhood adversity, interpersonal violence, and systemic trauma. Research has shown that adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) early victimization shapes individual behavior patterns, justice system involvement, and emotional regulation (Ratcliff et al., 2025; Marotta, 2022). Traditional correctional models rooted in punishment, control, and surveillance often repeat the dynamics of past trauma, exacerbating emotional dysregulation, behavioral challenges, and recidivism (Desai, 2019; Slovinsky, 2023). Antimicrobial agents are one of the most important therapeutics used in the medical field. With the rising prevalence of antibiotic resistant bacteria, new strategies have been developed to combat them, with biofilm-inhibiting agents proving to be promising candidates. A class of molecules known as hemibastadins, first discovered from marine sponges, has garnered significant attention for their biofilm properties. This thesis investigates the synthesis of three derivatives of hemibastadin-1, which incorporate structural changes meant to improve their biofilm-inhibiting properties and biological safety.
