The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence tools has changed the way scholarly manuscripts are prepared. Many authors now use AI-assisted tools to improve grammar, style, organization, and readability. Used responsibly, such tools can help authors communicate their ideas more clearly. However, a well-written manuscript is not necessarily a publishable manuscript. For the American Business Review (ABR), the central question remains unchanged: What does the manuscript contribute, and why should that contribution matter to ABR’s readership? Authors remain responsible for the intellectual content, integrity, and contribution of their work (Gatrell et al., 2024; Carobene et al., 2024).

This study examines how external auditor experience and compensation affect the quality of Key Audit Matter (KAM) disclosures among listed companies in Tanzania, and examines the moderating role of the audit committee financial expertise in these relationships. The study analysed a total of 132 firm-year observations of companies listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) from 2017 to 2024, based on the criteria of consistent listing and annual report publication over the study period. This paper examines the relationship between perceived fiscal exchange (PFE) and Tax Compliance (TCO) among large corporate taxpayers in Tanzania while drawing on the Fiscal Exchange Theory (FET). The study on which this paper is based employed a quantitative research design and analysed data using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) with a sample of 215 large corporate taxpayers in Tanzania. We find that the FET framework has modest explanatory and predictive power. Perceived Fiscal Exchange (PFE) has an insignificant effect on tax compliance of large corporate taxpayers. Introduction: The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognizes diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and hyperglycemic hyperosmolar state (HHS) as life-threatening hyperglycemic emergencies that can overlap clinically; approximately 10% of presentations are described as mixed DKA–HHS. Because current guidelines do not define a single “mixed” category, overlap is best understood as concurrent fulfillment of key elements of both syndromes: DKA-type anion-gap metabolic acidosis with ketonemia or ketonuria, together with HHS-type severe hyperglycemia, hyperosmolality, and dehydration. Legal scholars have made calls to “abolish family court” or “abolish the family.” Before family court can be abolished, society must reduce its reliance on state interventions to resolve family disputes. This Article applies abolition theory and the praxis of “non-reformist reforms,” derived from Black feminist thought and the prison abolition movement, to family law. It details the context of the current “carceral” interventions that rely on state enforcement and then categorizes alternative family law tools into noncarceral, anticarceral, and transformative practices. Thalia, a twenty-eight-year-old mother of two, has struggled with a substance use disorder for several years. Her children, ages five and seven, are in foster care. Thalia was homeless when she learned that she was fourteen weeks pregnant. She wanted to have an abortion, but her state banned abortions after the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The closest abortion care provider in a neighboring state was 400 miles away, and a medical (non-surgical) abortion was no longer an option.

Their aspirational language—promising a clean and healthful environment for present and future generations—intuits bold action. Nonetheless, when leveraged as a standalone cause of action, the Green Amendment’s ability to exact substantive outcomes has proven less inspired, and jurisprudence in the three Green Amendment states—New York, Pennsylvania, and Montana—reveals several shortcomings. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) reactivation remains a critical concern in immunosuppressed oncology and hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) patients, yet the optimal duration of antiviral prophylaxis is unresolved. Current guidelines recommend 12–18 months of prophylaxis after HSCT or B-cell depleting therapy for patients who are isolated anti-HBc positive, based on documented cases of late reactivation beyond the traditional 12-month threshold. However, these recommendations largely derive from studies in HBsAg-positive patients or those receiving rituximab-containing regimens, with limited data addressing the broader range of high-risk scenarios encountered in practice. This article examines the conditions under which constitutional courts are able to resist executive attempts at institutional capture during periods of democratic erosion. Instead of concentrating on the mechanisms through which courts are attacked, it focuses on how courts effectively behave in the long term when operating under sustained political pressure. The central claim is that judicial resistance cannot be explained solely by formal institutional design or by a general commitment to constitutional principles. This Essay destabilizes a feminist project that seeks to emancipate sexually violated women in the United States through a rhetoric of voice. There is a body of feminist literature that imagines voice as unconstrained self-expression through which sexually violated women resist patriarchal oppression and heal from trauma. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Indian newspapers and magazines began reporting stories of domestic abuse in matrimonial homes ranging from women subjected to dowry demands, beatings, everyday mistreatment, financial control, expulsion from the home, and even being burnt to death. Feminists recognized this as an urgent issue to respond to as these reports highlighted that domestic violence is endemic. Everybody knew a victim. Their own mothers, sisters, friends and, in some cases, they themselves were facing violence within marriage. This study develops and validates maintenance-aware machine learning models for predicting the Highway Pavement Condition Index (HPCI) on the Korean expressway network. Multiple regression and tree-based models were trained and tested using the pavement condition surveys archived in the Highway Pavement Management System (HPMS). A stacking regressor that integrates random forest, gradient boosting, and extreme gradient boosting as base learners exhibited the most robust predictions. Performance metrics indicated that the stacking ensemble achieved a mean absolute error of 0.21, a root mean square error of 0.31, and a coefficient of determination exceeding 0.73 on the testing dataset. Introduction: Esophageal diverticula are uncommon structural abnormalities that may present with nonspecific symptoms such as dysphagia, regurgitation, and chest discomfort. It accounts for < 5% of all cases of dysphagia. In elderly patients with significant cardiac comorbidities, chest pain and dysphagia may be initially attributed to cardiovascular pathology, potentially delaying the correct diagnosis. This case highlights the importance of comprehensive history taking in identifying esophageal diverticulum as an alternative etiology of chronic symptoms. Case presentation: A 77-year-old female with a history of atrial fibrillation, unstable angina, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hypertension, and diastolic heart failure presented with chest pain. Given her significant cardiac history, she underwent extensive cardiac evaluation, including serial troponins, electrocardiography, echocardiography, and stress testing, all of which showed no evidence of acute ischemia. Further history revealed intermittent dysphagia to both solids and liquids for over three years, occurring approximately twice weekly. The patient described a sensation of food getting stuck in her throat, occasionally requiring expectoration. Gastroenterology was consulted, and esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed minimal esophagitis with a distal esophageal diverticulum. The patient was managed conservatively with pantoprazole 40 mg daily, resulting in symptomatic improvement. Discussion: Esophageal diverticula are often associated with underlying esophageal motility disorders and can present with dysphagia to both solids and liquids. Symptoms may mimic or coexist with cardiopulmonary complaints, particularly in elderly patients with multiple comorbidities. While barium esophagography remains the diagnostic modality of choice, endoscopy can identify associated mucosal pathology and confirm the diagnosis. Management is individualized based on symptom severity and diverticulum size, with conservative therapy appropriate for mildly symptomatic patients. Conclusion: This case underscores the importance of considering esophageal diverticulum in the differential diagnosis of chronic dysphagia and chest discomfort, even in patients with significant cardiac disease. Careful history taking and multidisciplinary evaluation are essential to avoid misattribution of symptoms and to ensure timely diagnosis and appropriate management.

Intimate partner violence constitutes a pervasive public health issue, impacting nearly half of all women in the United States, about 61.7 million, over the course of their lifetime (Leemis et al., 2022). For Black, Latina, Indigenous and Asian Women, these rates are even higher. Achilles tendon ruptures (ATRs) are increasingly recognized as one of the most severe injuries in professional basketball, with recent National Basketball Association (NBA) seasons demonstrating a notable rise in incidence. This review examines the epidemiology, biomechanical mechanisms, risk factors, and prevention strategies associated with Achilles tendon ruptures in NBA athletes. Video-based biomechanical studies reveal that most NBA Achilels ruptures are non-contact injuries occurring during offensive play, particularly during rapid acceleration, directional changes, and explosive basketball-specific movements such as crossovers, push-offs, and layups.
